1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How Old Are You?

Feb 26, 2014

    1. I'm 25 now (although I'll be 26 soon) and I got my first BJD 6 years ago. :)

    2. I'm 24, loved BJDs since I was around 16, only recently got my first - she arrived November last year! - and now I'm working on number 2...

I've been kind of obsessed with dolls for this long even if I didnt have the means to get any (I had 1/6th scale obitsus, and I love them, but they're different!) I figure I'm not going to get bored with them any time soon!

    3. I'm 21; I've been in the hobby since I'm 17 I think, so that's not too long. I thought once about selling my doll, but I couldn't do it and now the hobby is stronger than ever =)

    4. I'm 17 and my first doll arrived when I was 16. I look forward to many more adventures to come!

    5. My sister, my mother, my neice and I are all in the hobby. Mom is 72, I am 52 sis is 41, neice is 11. All ages like to play!

    6. I'm 33 and have loved these dolls from afar for many years. So happy to own a few of my own now!! XD

    7. I am 19 years old and I don't believe there is an age limit to collecting dolls. It's natural to enjoy having little avatars that you can create and control how they look and give them personalities. People enjoy the aspect of designing there own characters in video games, the idea is still the same. Dolls are just physical c:

    8. I'm 22 but shall be turning 23 in closer months. :3
I think now that I'm older I can appreciate dolls like these, rather than when I was younger and would probably just end up breaking them. (I have siblings you see...)

    9. i'm 18 turning 19 in july! though i have collected porcelain dolls for forever i only recently got into bjds and i love it!

    10. I am 39. I loved dolls since I was a little baby. I have loved BJD for about 11 years now.

    11. I will be 25 in 4 days and I've loved BJDs for hmm... I'd say 3-4 years now.

    12. I'm 31 and i get the first bjd when I was 25

    13. I'm 29, and got my first BJD 5 or 6 years ago. My third is supposed to come in the mail tomorrow, but I have a feeling the doll family will be growing quite a bit in the next year or so.

    14. At the end of the month I will be 26

    15. I'm 24 next month. I've been in and around the hobby since I was 18. I think that what matters is that you are enjoying yourself through the hobby.

    16. I am 17 but turning 18 in September, i was only recently able to order my first BJD, i have yet to receive her, but she should be here this month and i cant wait to officially have my own resin baby!

    17. I'm 28, but I'll be 29 in a few weeks. I hope that I'll still be into these dolls when I'm 89 :P

    18. I am 22 and I will be 23 in November. I don't think I will ever be too old for BJDs. I might have to stop buying them some day but I will never get rid of mine

    19. I was 15 when I first found out about this hobby, and got my first two ball jointed dolls on my 16th birthday. I am now 17, and will be 18 this December. Thus I can still say that I am new to this hobby, but I have owned dolls of all sizes and several different companies during this time, as well as trying my hand out at modding, sewing, and doing faceups. As the studious type, I also like to think that I know a lot about the bjd process. ^_^

I absolutely and firmly believe that you are never too old for this hobby. In fact, I find it disgusting that someone would make this argument. That's like saying that there is an age limit to happiness. Shouldn't someone be able to choose what they want to do and when?
Ball jointed dolls really are a work of art, most definitely not toys. The hobby combines several mature hobbies such as photography, drawing, sculpting, sewing and woodworking. Anyone who says otherwise has clearly never been in the hobby and have no idea what kind of work it takes to make one of these beautiful dolls.

    20. I'm 35, I saw my first BJDs and wanted one about 5 years ago, but put the idea out of my mind until recently, then when the urge to get one came back, I went with it, and I've had my first doll for a couple of weeks now.
