1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Feb 26, 2014

    2. I'm 25. I'm very glad I didn't start to like any expensive dolls until now. As a kid I ruined quite a few dolls and ponies by making, ahem, modifications.

    4. I started collecting BJDs in 2007 when I was 43. And I am now 50 :sweat

    5. I'm 22 and I started collecting when I was 18, though I've been interested in the hobby since I was 16 or 17.

I've gone through a lot of personal changes since I first joined the doll community, but my love of bjds has stayed constant!

    6. I'm 21, don't have a doll yet but I've been interested in bjds off and on since I was thirteen or so, when I saw bjds for the first time at an anime convention, haha.

    7. I'm 24, Been intrigued by BJDs on and off for years but only just got into it a few months back. I've been saving up and I'll be ordering my first dolls in a few weeks. (Getting two! c: )

    8. I first got interest in BJDs when I was 16. I officially started when I was 19 and now I'm 24 :) I do hope I could be in this hobby for the rest of my life. I even think of being buried with my first doll when the time comes (lol morbid thought)

Don't be very conscious of your age when it comes to dolls. As long as you love them, go for it!

    11. I'm 21 turning 22 and I started collecting dolls when I was 18

    12. Well I'd say I need to win an award guys. I'm 67, 68 in October. It wasn't until I retired and learned to chillax that I had time to spend with my hobby of doll collecting, sewing etc. I was always too stressed after a demanding job. Also the fact that I could never have spent the kind of $$$ that BJDs demand when I was raising a family. Even after I divorced and became a "free agent"...there were always other things that needed to be purchased first, like a new furnace, a car, a house etc. BIG stuff. So now I'm living the life of Riley. I have many dolls but BJDs only within the last 5 yrs. I love the little ones...the YOSD size. Shoot me if I start buying the really big complicated, high maintenance dolls. Little ones are spendy enuf.

    13. I am 18 going to 19 and currently searching for my first official bjd debut.

    14. I'm 29 and decided to buy BJD's when I was 27. Can someone be too old to collect dolls? No way! I actually grew up in a family of old women collecting porcelain baby dolls lol. Collecting dolls is totally normal to me. I'm not sure if you guys realize that that is just another one of those hobbies that older women can have--like knitting and stuff lol. My grandmother collects antique dolls from her era and my mom collects dolls of the English royal family. She got baby George doll last Christmas lol.
Porcelain baby dolls always bored me though. It was always my dream to have a doll that was a hot guy and pointy ears was the ultimate!!!! But that seemed like a strange idea back then before BJD's in the mid 90's lol. And every once in a while when the doll companies did manage to make a doll that was an adult man it always looked really strange to me. Like Ken--just feminine or somewhere in the uncanny valley lol.
Seems with BJD's the artists have managed to come up with an ideal that hits the perfect guy doll realism-to-stylized ratio lol.
But I digress. To get back on the subject, a little before I got into BJD's I had found and fell in love with those little Blythe dolls that were put out by The Littlest Pet Shop in the toy store. They were so different and cute and had these huge beautiful eyes and I was extremely puzzled as to why they looked like that. They were really different. I wanted them but was really embarrassed about it at first because it was a child's toy and I was probably 26 and also typically wasn't a doll-person. I did buy a few but the collector in me forced me to leave them in the packages where they still rest today :(. But soon after, I started discovering Asian dolls and BJD's and it all started making sense lol.
Now I'm a total doll-person, not ashamed, I'm happy because I've got my hot-guy dolls, and I assume I will collect them until death doth part me from my dolls lol. :wiggle

    15. I'm 22 :D I can't help but feel a little odd as a young man getting into BJDs but such worries never last long, they're far too awesome and I tend to care very little about what others think of me.

    16. I'm 20. It's a weird time because other people think that people my age should be out enjoying the "best time of your life" by going to parties and clubs. Most of my peers who I've told think it's a weird hobby and don't understand why I would want to spend my free time doting on my dollies. I'm content in being a weirdo though ;)

    17. I'm an ALMOST twenty-one year old guy.
      I still love my guys, can't imagine a time I won't.
      They're mah baybays.

    18. I'm 21, as of... today! Yaaaaaay I'm legal now and it's 1 in the morning and I should sleep but I'm not because it's my birthday! Also because I've eaten an entire package of caramels and now I'm wired on the sugar rush >.>"

But in all seriousness, it's really cool to see how wide the range of ages is in this hobby. Kind of eye-opening in its own right.

    19. I'm 23 and have been into BJDs for years but bought my first dollie last December :D

    20. I'm 42 and a newbie to BJDs, I got my first one last October.
I feel like a granny when I see your age, lots of youngsters around !
