1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How Old Are You?

Feb 26, 2014

    1. I love the age range (: I'm 22. It's nice to see people of all ages enjoying the hobby!

    2. Older than the number of pages in this thread c:

I don't think any hobby should be stereotyped as belonging to any certain group, whether that's according to age, gender or whatever. To me "adults shouldn't own dolls" is like saying "girls shouldn't wear pants"... There's an age-relative version of just about every hobby, BJDs being the adult version of the this one (as opposed to barbies or whatever kids are playing with these days. Wow I felt old typing that).

Yes it's a hobby that can be addictive and cause life issues if gotten into for the wrong reasons... but that's a whole other thing, and has less to do with dolls and more with just addictive behaviour in general. Addiction or unhealthy compulsion should not be related to adults partaking in the collection/admiration of customizable art objects.

    3. I'm 19, started collecting at 18.

I don't think you can get too old for the hobby. If anything, the older you get, the more acceptable it is. Just do what makes you happy! Age is but a number. I maybe 19, but in my heart I am still 5 years old.

    4. Im 21! I have only been collecting for a while because I finally have my own money!

    5. 21. I don't have a doll yet as I've just gotten into the hobby.

    6. I'm currently 17 and waiting on my first doll to arrive (!), but I've been interested in the BJD hobby since I was about 14.

    7. I'm now 25 and I was 23 when got my first doll. I have been in BJD hobby more and less unactively since 2008 but wasn't really interested getting own doll then. It took almost four years before I actually decided to get my own doll ^^'

    8. I'm 27 but turning 28 in august^^'. I was 26 when I got my first BJD.

    9. I am only 21! My best friend is 19 and we both own and love dolls!

    10. I'm 27, but for some reason still feel 17 :)

    11. I'm 26 and have been interested in bjds for nearly ten years, even though I just now purchased my first doll. :)

    12. Seems like there are a lot of people in their early 20's (I guess I didn't really say but that's me too), on this page, anyway. Cool c:

    13. I'm 20 years old ^^

    14. The fact his is an older women's thing gives me hope I will be able to do this for many years. I'm still really young, I turned 20 last week!!

    15. I'm 35 and just started :) I love seeing so many ladies of different ages.

    16. I only seriously got into this hobby this year, and I am 27 as of June! I think it's really awesome to have so many different age ranges and types of peoples in this hobby coming together!

    17. I'm 36 and will be turning 37 this year. I don't think I'll ever be to old to enjoy this hobby :aheartbea

    18. I'm young enough to buy alcohol, rent a car and apply for a mortgage but old enough to still get asked for ID... :doh

But in all honesty age or sex doesn't really matter. I've been interested in BJD's for a long time but only recently made the plunge. I'm also a man in my early thirities

It doesn't matter if a young 68 Grandma or a 14 year old teenager, just have fun and enjoy . Also, because the costs of a doll can reach three or four figures, some might not all be in a position to get their first BJD till well after they've finished college and started a full time job especially when some of the outfits and shoes cost more than full size clothes in Walmart :o

It is nice to see a nice wide selection of ages here. It makes for a nice mix :D

    19. I am going to be 23 this year *^* I started collecting BJD in December 2013 so I'm pretty new to this hobby and the way I see it you can never be too old for this hobby XD

    20. I'll be 35 come August. It's nice to see such a variety of ages.
