1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How Old Are You?

Feb 26, 2014

    1. I have been in the hobby since 2008 and am now 51. There has been a bit of discussion about being too young or too old for this hobby. I gave up dolls at the age of 12 because my family made a big deal about me "being too old to lug a doll around" . I am very proud of our younger members in particular for being brave enough to go against that silly societal stereotype. It's not easy! As for the idea of being too old for dolls....well, I will just point out that we older BJD hobbyists tend to have a couple of distinct advantages : we tend to know how to sew F*&%!^G AMAZING doll clothes, and have generally a bit more disposeable income to buy dollies with. So don't count us out!

    2. My body is 53 and my brain is 38.... =D

    3. I'm almost 37 now, and i've had my doll hobby for 3.5 years. I can't see me moving on anytime soon :)

    4. I am 22 and a male haha

I don't care what other people think, I am lying lol of course I do... but I try not to. I knew people in my everyday life that already understood bjd dolls so I was lucky. For me though, I was not always interested in dolls and really only came to collect bjd's through anime and manga.

    5. I am 33 and I am starting now in the hobbie... I regret nothing

    6. I only started last year and I'm 34 this year. Wish I had started earlier.

    7. I am 24 and started the hobby two years ago :) lovin it!

    8. I'm twenty two and I started the hobby a year ago. It's nice to see so many age ranges. I guess there's so much thing as to old to play with dolls. (Loving every minute of it!)

    9. I just purchased my first BJD this year. I'm 29, but it looks like I'm not the only "late bloomer" here <3

    10. I'm 18, and still looking for my first doll- it's so nice that there's such a range of ages!

    11. I'm 35 and has been playing BJDs for 10 years. Never too late to start.

    12. 24 and still feel like I'm 18 8D

    13. im 24! woah 1 thought I was the eldest here Im glad to know some people age :)

    14. I'm 39 and have been collecting for a little over two years.

I've been told I look (and seem) much younger than I am.

Hooray for sunscreen, my parasol, and my belief that childlike wonder and enthusiasm is not the same as being childish!:pcupcake

    16. I just wanted to say thanks to all the men out there of any age who collect these beautiful dolls..
inspire the next generation of guys with dolls...YES! ...I love these dolls ...spread the love

    17. I'm 19, got into the hobby about four-five years ago.

    18. I'm 44, and didn't start playing with dolls till I was 35.

I spent my youth + 20s + 30s tearing around going to clubs & staying out all night; once I started to get tired and slow down a bit, suddenly it seemed reasonable to have a hobby I could do at home. :D I still go to a lot of live shows, so my rock-and-roller dolls always have a lot of posters & flyers & stickers to decorate their rooms with. And I love dressing these guys up in far-out clubwear; I like to put them in outfits I'd wear if I still had the energy for the club scene (and if Mr. Gravity hadn't started on me!).

    19. I'm 27 and I started with the hobby a year ago.
