1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How Old Are You?

Feb 26, 2014

    1. I am 38. I started collecting BJDs back in 2008. Before that i collected various Asian fashion dolls.

    2. I'm 27. I started collecting BJD in 2006. I never collected dolls before that and never ordered anything from beyond my country. So that was fun to send money to the seller an wait if they even get there. But everything worked out fine and now I have a grate lot of dolls)))

    3. Just turned 32 three weeks ago. :D

    4. 25. I discovered the hobby at 18 and have had at least one doll since, and been off and on with the actual community since. And I plan on being the crazy lady with the creepy dolls for the rest of my life.

    5. I am 41 (but act younger) and although i am new to bjds (so excited to discover this whole new world), i have been dolly mad all my life. what is really nice is that i can share my hobby with my kids too. They totally understand the reange of dolls out there.... dolls to throw out of tree houses and dolls to idolise and dream about and spend more money on their clothes than on our own!

    6. I'm 21, turning 22 next monday actually and just now saving up to buy my first doll. It makes me happy that there's a lot of older people in this hobby. Makes me feel a lot less immature for still loving dolls.

    7. I'm 30 and super excited that there is such a broad spectrum of ages in the hobby wow!! That's so awesome guys!!

    8. I'm 30 - it's great to hear so many people comment that age doesn't matter but I still worry that I'm too old to be starting with this hobby.

    9. I'm 36 and newly-re-fascinated with dolls since having a daughter (who also loves dolls, but doesn't get to touch mine! hehehe). Haven't yet bought a proper bjd, and am having a very hard time practicing patience while I wait for the right doll, and the funds, to come along!

    10. 27! Loved BJDs since I was 16... still working on getting my first... I don't want to settle for something I'm not absolutely in love with.

    11. I'm 22 years old. Had into this hobby for one years!

    12. Turned 30 this year. Not that anyone would guess my age correctly. Still new to the Bjds. I was wondering what the age range was of collectors here. It's nice to see a broad age group!

    13. I'm 62, and I'll have been in this hobby for nearly 2.5 years by the end of September. I know I've seen some admit to being older in earlier posts.

    14. I'm 22, but when I have seen a bjd first time and decided that want one, I was 16 =D

    15. I'm 27, started collecting BJDs at 26, started collecting figures and statues at 24)

    16. I'm 57 and have been playing with dolls as long as I can remember. As an adult, I've handmade them as well as collected them. I don't plan to quit anytime soon.

    17. I didn't read all 28 pages of this thread, but I'm a little surprised to find how high the average age is - though the diversity doesn't surprise me! Of course, I probably shouldn't be surprised, given how expensive the hobby is, even if you're just enjoying dolls casually. I wonder if it's reflective of the whole hobby, or just DoA users...

I'm 19 and bought my dolls when I was 17.

    18. I'm 27 and got my first doll about two years ago. Been admiring the ones my friend had for longer than that though. :)

    19. I just turned twenty two, I think that is a good age but my family still thinks I'm weird because I "play with dolls" haha.

    20. I turned 26 this past August. I'm feeling somewhat old now. I'm getting flabby and fat at my desk job. xD
