How old is your oldest doll?

Mar 3, 2013

    1. I bought my first three dolls in 2006, so they will be 7 years old this year.

    2. My oldest doll is my Littlefee Bisou from the Little Bear fullset which was sold in 2009. She is nearly 4 years old while all my other dolls are not older than one year.

    3. Not that old yet. Byrd is 4 years old and the rest somewhere between 3 years to 1 month :)

    4. My oldest is Custom House Choa - I bought her in 2003 :)

    5. The oldest doll I have (I purchased one before her in 2005 I believe, but since sold her) is my Volks Kun, she's been here 7 years as of February. Two of my other dolls were acquired in the same year (2006) in March and June. While I got my Kun a new face-up a few years ago, it was by choice, not out of need. The other two still have their default face-ups, and my Liebchen has her body blushing which has some scuffing (though it did even when she arrived). If any of them yellowed, it can't be determined in my light source, or it is pretty even. I've never re-strung any of them, either. :sweat

    6. My doll collection is mostly new for several reasons. I was NOT a fan of dolls as a child except for three that meant a lot to me. Two (NOT RESIN) I still have... a Betsy Wetsy from 1958, my first Barbie, a blond bubble cut from 1963, and a replacement Vogue doll from the late 1960's named Love Me Linda ( the hunt for her after my mom threw away my own Linda is the reason I started buying on Ebay in 2000. It took me 10 years to find her.) Then there are a dozen or so porcelain dolls I made myself, and a few one of a kinds I made also.

The resin collection started in 2008 with the purchase of my first resin doll, a ResinSoul Lian that I have to this day. The over 22 others have been added since..most in the past two years.

    7. My oldest is around 6 years old now. He's the first I bought and I still have him.

    8. To be honest I have no idea! She had a previous owner and I have no idea how long they had her... Also, I can't remember exactly when I purchased her.. I can't seem to put a year on it! It was at least 2 years, probably more. I wish ebay didn't delete transactions from over 2 years ago.. They probably mentioned it in the description but I forgot!

    9. My oldest doll is my first one. Yesterday was the day when four years has passed since I ordered him.

    10. I got my first doll in 2008. He's still very much the same, still with the company face-up and default eyes and wig (though I might have to get him a new wig at some point). He doesn't seem to have yellowed a great deal but then, he's always had a kinda yellow-ish colour so I just might not notice. He's perfect the way that he is. The only thing that's "changed" about him is that his right eye-brow's slowly starting to fade. I could send him to a face-up artist to get it repaired, I'm sure, but I'm hesitant to do so cos in order to repair it, his eyes and eyelashes would have to be removed and I just like his current expression so much I simply don't want to change it even in the smallest detail.

    11. Hmmm I don't know.

The doll I've had the longest is my DM Kara Klum - my first who will be 5 in a month or so.
My oldest used to be my Migidoll Ryu whom I bought in 08 but was made in 07....

But I got a few Volks heads in the last two years and I honestly don't know how old they are (I bought them because I liked them, I didn't pay attention to when they were from D: ). So one of them could be older than 07!

    12. My YoSD Anne turns 8 this year. She's yellowed a bit, but it's a warm, lovely skintone--it doesn't bother me at all, and I only notice it when she's next to a newer doll. I love her to bits!

    13. I have a pair of first-generation Volks Tsubakis and a SWD Lucas who are almost exactly nine years old. They're in very good shape for their age, and still have their original face-ups. My Volks Sakaki is eight, and also still has his original default face. (Tal's first owner really babied him, so even his original wig is like new.)

My CP/Delf Elf Shiwoos are... somewhere around the same age as the Sakaki, IIRC? My oldest Lishe and El aren't much younger, either. They're holding up reasonably well. But then, they're Normal Skin dolls.

I've had much more trouble with yellowing and "greening" with my older CP BW dolls... THOSE haven't aged quite as well as their NS counterparts. I actually ended up selling off most of my BWs a few years ago because I didn't like the colors they were turning. <_<

    14. My oldest doll will have been with me for 7 years this year. I'm not his first owner so he's probably even older than that, but I'm not sure by how much. I don't really do as much with him because he doesn't fit in that well with the rest of my dolls (my collecting took a different direction after a while) but I can't bring myself to sell him.

    15. I bought my first doll in 2005, and he was new then, so he's about 7-1/2 years old.

However, my actual oldest doll is a Volks SD13 Shiro Tachibana 1st version-- he's 10 years old this year. :cake: I'm his third owner; he already had a few very full lives before he came here.
His Tokyo Shonen compadres (SD13 Isao 1, Isao 2, Tsukasa) are also 8 or 9 years old each.

    16. My oldest will be 7 this year. Already! He's yellowed, but that along with a wig change has been the most drastic changes. I still love the guy to bits.

    17. Well, my oldest 'doll' is my baby Sasha who is about 24 years old haha. As for my oldest BJD, that would have to be my SoulDoll Yewon. I got her when she first came out, which I think has been close to 7 years ago. (She has barely even yellowed, thankfully! And she is still lovely. She's my avatar picture) :)

    18. I got my first in 2003 around this time of year, conveniently enough. My first three are about 10 years old, the last I purchased was in 2006. Interesting that my MSDs are now older than they are sculpted to represent :). Time flies!

    19. My oldest doll is 3 years old now. I got him a Christmas gift after finishing my first semester of College:).

    20. My oldest boy was bought from Bluefairy in autumn 2006. He still has his original faceup and has hardly changed in tone. Second oldest was second-hand NS MNF just at the end of 2006. Strangely, I think he's gotten a bit lighter in tone, rather than yellowed or deeper in tone. Still has his original company faceup too.

I do have a couple of second-owner 2005-2006 Delfs in normal and in whites - the whites have gone greenish or yellowish, but I think they still look wonderful. Loves me the heft and little bit extra tallness of the oldest Delf boys!
