How to stop yourself from spending all of your money...

I'm sorry, but it sounds like a simple manipulation for me.

 

Im sure this has already been suggested but: One thing i've been doing is I have a separate account in my bank for "hobbies" which is my dolls savings fund, for eyes, wigs, etc. So if I don't have enough money in there for a doll well I cant get one xD but every paycheck you throw a little bit in there it grows quite fast even working part time while in college just patience and promising myself to keep the floating heads to a minimum o.o and finish one more project before starting another

 

Maybe you are right! But we live in such a tiny apartament, that I really have to fight for a space! And evrytime telling my friends: "please, do not present me enything!" I don't have a space for a potts of orchides or even for a next coffee mug! For me it is just a wasting of money! I had such a Box for travelling, and I never mentioned about it, and actually it was my box, where I put some money every week, but some nice people noticed it! So by myself, I also always prefer to present some money, if I am not sure, what my friend needs exactly at this moment!

 

I'm sorry, it just sounded like "If you don't have money for a doll, show your friends that you want it and they will buy you it". I'm glad that you meant something different.

 

Consider starting a doll fund to set a limit on your purchase if the doll you want exceeds your budget then downsize on items you currently own.

 

I don't have money so I can't spend it ...

 

I still find it hard to stop myself from spending all my cash

 

I have very little impulse control...

I ordered my first doll (my avatar, a Zuzu delf Mir from Luts) around November/December 2012 direct from the company, I ordered my second doll (an Impldoll Harley) through e-bay because there was one available second hand in my country. Harley arrived 2 days later and Mir arrived around 5 months after that. I love them both.

If you can say without a doubt that you will love the in stock doll as much as the one you have ordered and have them money to do so comfortably then go for it but maybe wait a week to see if you still love it after that amount of time.

 

I have 2 bank accounts, 1 for accident, hospitals, everything important for daily life and 2 for hobby, everything that not necessary.
Bank Account 1 is no atm and no internet banking then it make me very hard to use that money to buy not necessary things

 

I made a separate doll fund. I've gotten good about adding to my savings, so each paycheck the same amount goes into both. The money left it's for everyday and for random this or that, so I don't feel the pressure of "every penny you spend could be for dolls". Because I already know what's for dolls.

 

When I was waiting for my first doll a few months ago, I was like "oh...this could fit him, this would look cute on him, this one could be his lover" blah blah blah But I didn't get some items more than my doll would need.
I've waited for him to arrive and try a shirt and pants on him, and some other stuff, that helped me a lot because, as a new BJD owner, I don't know what to do with my doll. So, the story turned out that, when his faceup was put on, he expressed what he wanted me to put on him. It may sound weird but every doll has a different character. I expected him to be like this or like that when he was still in making, but when he arrived, that was different story.
Now I'm glad I didn't spend too much

 

Hope I can find an answer to that question someday...
