1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How will the changes to US postal service effect you? (In regards to Dolly mail)

Feb 13, 2013

    1. The way I understood it is that they just won't be delivering letters and regular mail, but still packages. So it probably won't affect people as much as they think it might. It won't affect me as much and I don't mind waiting another day or two for my mail. My college has trained me that there is no mail on Saturday or Sunday anyway, so I'm ahead of the curve.

    2. I find it disheartening that an institution that is in theory "unstoppable" (wind, rain, sleet, hail, snow, dark of night etc...) can be stopped by a Saturday :( My little town already had in place reduced hours of operation, 9:30am to 3:30pm M-F & 10:30am to 1pm on Sat & it makes catching them difficult, especially since they close for an hour M-F for lunch. The sign yesterday at my local post office said they will leave to PO Box lobby open as usual but we won't have a Saturday clerk at all, it will be closed. I guess I'll have to go to the next bigger town to mail things that won't fit through the package slot.

    3. Any credit card bills or letters won't be delivered on Saturdays, but packages especially doll related I will still get, I just hope my bills come on Friday instead of Monday*_*

    4. I work Monday through Friday, so Saturday is the ONLY day I can go to the PO. Ours is staying open, but only for 2 hours on Saturday, so it's really REALLY hard for me to get there. Seems my dolls usually arrive on Wednesdays for some weird reason. So I'm just really lucky right now that my husband works 2nd shift and can mail things or be home to sign for things for me. When he gets transferred to first shift, I have no idea what I'll do.

    5. I don't think I'll be too affected by this (I always thought that mail wasn't delivered at all during the weekend until recently), it will be kind of annoying to have to wait for important documents though but I'll manage.

    6. Nothing will change for me honestly. All my packages always come before the weekends.(I have yet to get my first bjd so I can't speak for that yet.) Now for normal mail I get so little of it that I only pick it up on Mondays anyway. I will be around to sign anything if needed really. weekends are really my busy days anyway.

    7. My local post office is only open 1 hour on Saturday! ONE hour! I never ship on Saturday cause I always miss that hour and it's packed anyhow! It's open like 9 or 10am, closes at 1-2p for lunch, then closes at 4. It's very annoying. I was why do they bother to open at all on Saturdays?

    8. I don't think it'll really affect me too much. I'm used to going to the post office for various dolly mail things, anyway. Besides, they're still going to deliver packages on the weekends, so if I get lucky (like I have lately), I should still get dolly things as scheduled. I don't live too far from my post office, either, so it's no big deal to go down there after work during the week if I need to.

    9. I'm definitely sad, I live for the mail delivery. It's the one thing that gets me really excited about the next day. Doll wise though I don't really see it affecting me.

    10. Damn, I was actually hoping USPS was ceasing both mail and package deliveries on Saturdays! Since I still live at home and my parents work only on weekdays, those are the only days I can "safely" receive packages without their scrutiny :sweat Having Saturday deliveries out of the picture would've been awesome! Lol!

    11. It matters to the people who want stuff shipped to them, bc EMS is already expensive, but with this rate hike it's killing Int sales. Priority Mail is about half the cost of EMS, but still costly, & you don't have the same insurance that your package was delivered with Priority Int vs EMS.

I will just have to watch my Mailman like a hawk.. so I don't end up with a notice on a Friday, & have to suffer the whole weekend !!! ;)

    12. Right now, I am largely unaffected. At my current job, I can have packages delivered to my work and I do because it's safer than my home, so weekend packages wouldn't get to me until Monday anyway. Also, my campus post office isn't open on weekends for shipping either.

What HAS affected me: The price hike on international packages. I went to send what should have been a five dollar package prior to the price hike and got charged 12 for it. This will DEFINITELY affect how willing I am to do overseas trades and will affect how affordable things I am selling are to overseas buyers.

There was a domestic shipping price hike too, I've had to raise my package shipping price from 4.00 per envelope to 6.00 per envelope. This may not seem like a big deal, but for some people those two dollars are a deal breaker. Especially when selling low-value items like eyes.
