1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How would you feel if there's a doll that look like you?

Jan 23, 2013

    1. That would be really cool! If it would be a prettier version of me, that is ^_^

    2. Nah, not interested!

I prefer to have dolls that can be made into original characters...if I had one that looked like me, it would be creepy.

    3. My mother actually made a doll of me, sculpted after my 3 year old self. It wears my first shoes and party dress. Honestly, it creeps me out.

    4. Eh, no thanks. Honestly I find the idea a bit eerie. xD

    5. The funny thing is? People say Chaeri looks like me. Considering how beautiful she is, I take that as a grand compliment. I can't see it myself, though.

    6. My sis has decided that I look like a migidoll Jina, but I definitely don't think so. I'd feel bad for the poor doll that had to look like me, it definitely wouldn't sell >.<

    7. I'd probably go 'yeah thats cool...' but I don't think I go crazy and buy it just because it looks like me... :)

    8. I would probably freak out SO much and I would NOT buy it at all! o-o I've often been told I have quite doll like features etc which would make this experience really creepy for me OTL

    9. I remember one of my friends telling me that i looked like a doll chateu young sculpt. At first i did not know what they where talking about until i did some research...and i mean they where not a 100 wrong .... i am supper skinny with long arms ><

Yet havinga doll that would look like me would be weird, specially since i would buy it more cause i like the sculpt not because who it resembles ;o

    10. I will be so excited an definitely buy it!! and show the pictures to every one

    11. No... that would be quite creepy.

Also, BJD's are beautiful because they have slightly cartoon-ish appearances. A real-looking BJD usually looks horrid.

    12. Well when I was at uni last year studying animation SO many of my friends' characters looked like them, and they didn't even mean to design them that way! I reckon we often like to design things in our own image, just subconsciously. My final project character looked like me (I didn't like that idea, it just did :P) so maybe the same applies for dolls, although not the extreme! Exactly identical would be freaky!

    13. Actually when I was admiring Bibiane on the Iplehouse website my sister said she looked like me (I had red hair) and that was the BIGGEST compliment ever! Although seriously I'm nowhere near as pretty as the doll. She's so purdy.

    14. I would love an idealized version of me but when I was in my 30's (not now at 60). It would be fun to dress me up in the latest fashions or live out my fantasies. :)

    15. i'd be totally shocked. haha.
i have a friend who has a doll that totally looks like her. it was a shocking coincidence. xD

    16. I can't imagine anyone creating a doll that looked like me, but I probably would buy it. I'd like to see other people's reaction to my dolly doppleganger. Have some people over, sit her on the couch in a matching outfit . . . That could be amusing.

    17. A stylized version would be kind of cool, but I'm not sure if I would buy it just because it looked like me.

    18. I'd be a bit amused. Though I pretty much wouldn't buy it. It'd be too creepy staring back at a mini version of myself. x:
