It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. How would you feel if there's a doll that look like you?

Jan 23, 2013

    1. I would gladly get a doll that looks like me!! even if only to see how different I would look in different hairstyles/outfits than usual ot to play around with faceups and junk. It would be interesting to see.

    2. I'm currently doll-sitting someone else's doll whose based on a character whose inspired but not based on me appearance-wise according to her. He's a Honey Delf Choco. I see some features being similar, but it's a kid face, and underexaggerated. It'd be pretty uncanny to actually own a doll of myself. I was talking to someone recently about BJD's who wants to make a BJD of both of her daughters and give them to them as a present. No idea if she's going to commit to that, but if she does, I might end up helping.... and maybe suggesting asking the girls opinions. I don't think I'd ever do it personally, unless someone asked me to help make themselves specifically. The main thing I'd worry about is getting them offended or feeling like the doll emphasizes something about their appearance they dislike. I'd make a celebrity doll, though, as they're more accustomed to people trying to represent them in art, and less likely to even see the doll.

    3. I am inclined to think that I wouldn't make a particularly good-looking doll, so I'm really not interested. :)

    4. The doll would have to be styled in the same way as I am in order to look like me so I don't think it would ever happen. But if it did, it would be pretty cool! I would probably show all my doll friends

    5. I'd find that cool on one hand and creepy on the other 0-0 would I buy her? it depends on the price i guess!

    6. I'd find that cool too. Depending on the price, I probably would buy it ^^

    7. I would definitely get it! I've always wanted an identical twin, so a doll would be the next best thing. :3nodding:

    8. Meh, i base my dolls on their characters very heavily and thats how i pick the ones i like. So my doll would just sit in the dark corner of a shelf with a dusty bag of oreos. Id never take it out since id make the most boring doll character.

Id probably burn it too since staring into a doll version of myself would freak me out. Itd make me feel like im looking at myself from an out of body perspective. Just thinking about it makes me feel sick to my stomach.

    9. I think it would be the coolest thing ever if it was a doll of my 20 something self. I'd buy that for sure. Not so sure I'd want the current version though. ;)

    10. I would be genuinely creeped out. I would call the exorcist. Haha I've seen this scarey movie (Doll Master, was the title?) where there's a doll that actually looks like a real person. Phew. Too scarey.

    11. I'm not 100% sure, but right now I think I'd buy it. :)
I'm big on learning to love your image, and I think having a doll that looked like me would be helpful. I could test out new hair colors and decide if I'd look good, or different styles of clothing. Loving a doll that looked like myself could help me get more comfortable with how I look.

    12. I'd be shocked, actually! I'm fat, and it's so rare to see fat BJDs, especially with how padded my face is.

But I think I'm darn cute, so I'd buy me.

... It would be weird, though. I'd have to see if I knew the person who made the doll, otherwise it would be awkward.

    13. I'd be floored. I'd be so excited to see what others would do with the sculpt. See how they envision it. I'd want people to send me pictures of what they do.

    14. It would sell in millions, I am sure of it :wiggle:dance

    15. We should ask Tom Hiddleston. Someone made a sculpt of him.

    16. The doll which would look like me would be unlucky :sweat

But I would like to look like one or two dolls...

    18. 3D printing this days make this possible easily but l I don't consider myself good looking so yeah poor doll but i totally want to see one XD but of course i am not wish to own it..

    19. I hope no one ever makes a doll that looks like me, because I can guarantee no one will buy it lol....a very sad and scary thought. However I had a famous artist Eva Helland do a sculpt of my daughter at birth and it is my most special doll ever! She loves it too
