1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How Young is too Young to go to a Meet?

Jul 25, 2011

    1. Technically speaking I guess there isn't an age limit, but I think there are a lot of factors involved in decided whether or not a specific person should or can go to a specific meet. Where is the meet being held? Who else is going? What kinds of entertainment or activities are planned? What are the preferences of the host? Not everyone wants to hang out with people who are wildly different from themselves in age (and that goes for adults hanging out with kids and teens as well as for teens and kids hanging out with adults). Some meet locations or proposed activities might not be appropriate for certain age groups. Heck, sometimes it's not even a matter of activities, it's just a matter of group dynamics and how the group members like to be able to act at a meet. Not everybody wants to censor themselves so they don't corrupt a minor or offend people who don't like swearing. Not everybody wants to be around people for whom the popular topics and words are potentially offensive or risque. And that is perfectly fine -- you're allowed to feel your feelings and have your opinions on what makes a fun day and what doesn't. But I think if you're talking about an established group or a new group that is being built with a specific purpose, it's a good idea for anyone who wants to join the group for the first time to contact someone who would be in-the-know (like the meetup host) for information about the group dynamic, activities, and the like before deciding whether or not to attend a meetup.
