I was finally able to buy my grail this year. Only because Volks released her through pre-order instead of a lottery like they normally do. The best part, I did not have to pay the second hand prices that kept her out of my reach for years.

 

I didn't even think I had a grail until I happened to look at the DoA Marketplace and saw a Heartstrung Ruse with her original face-up and wig. I feel so lucky to have found her, and from an incredibly nice seller, that I named her Tyche after the Greek goddess of luck.

I found a Grail doll I had long ago given up hope of seeing- a Souldoll Human Shiva!

 

Congrats dear!! That's so exciting and I know you'll love her! Volks dolls have such a charm and appeal that makes them so unique and versatile. And a well priced one is even better!

I was lucky enough to find a SDM 33 and also found a boy body. However...I found that I'm not ready for msds atm but I'm still really grateful to have had him and the seller was super sweet so I'm happy about that.

He was a mini grail of mine but my next hope is that I find an F62 soon. I sold mine a bit ago and I've regretted since.

~My highlights have been finding a wonderful proxy to purchase my Dollfie Dream Choice boy from, and then I was able to find another Dollfie Dream Boy body about a week after, so I will now have two vinyl boys in the house. This was wonderful since I didn't even (ever) expect to even have one vinyl boy.

 

I love the little event pets that DollZone/Doll Chateau/Dream Valley make, but they're only available in the events as gifts if you spend a lot of money. I'm certainly not going to begrudge them that model, but I still often want the little pets, and I particularly loved Dream Valley's little foxes. I was going to try to find a way to get one of them in the current event that has so many old pet dolls back when I got pointed to an in-stock one, in the version I wanted! I feel super lucky, and it's awesome seeing so many other people's luck here too!

 

I had a character in mind for years and years, but had never been able to quite bring him home. I was open to the specific sculpt but noting quite matched my vision. I once found a head I thought could work, and bought a body for it too. But when I put him together, he totally rejected the character and insisted on becoming someone else entirely! I love who he became, so I kept him and moved on. Then I saw another sculpt I thought might work and contacted my favorite dealer to set up a purchase…only to be told that the dealer was no longer working with that company anymore. At this point I just flat out gave up on the character completely, which was sad because he was the final character for my collection…the only one I hadn’t been able to shell. A few months later Gem of Doll released their limited Hades boy and I recognized my character in him immediately! There is absolutely no doubt that he’s the perfect embodiment of my character, and I now have him on layaway with BJDivas! Never say never.

I have found my grail dolls but super expensive (over $1000) I sent them both an offer and was rejected (one was $1200 and my offer was $950...I can't afford more) but it's ok, I believe in the saying "what's yours will be yours".

 

Yes I firmly believe in the "you can't lose what's meant for you" saying as well! And so far I've always found the doll I really wanted.

As for me, I managed to find a Spirit Doll body a couple months ago, which is one I low-key wanted for a while. I'm also getting closer to updating my OC Aqqen with an aged up face sculpt. His new head, Fantasia Doll Jin, arrived in January. His new body, the Arkdoll 70cm boy body, just arrived this week (and is absolutely perfect with the Jin head). I sculpted elf ears onto him late last week. All that's left to do is give him a faceup and [maybe] do some body blushing.

Another thing that had been on my list for a while was getting an updated [and better posing] body for my Iplehouse Asa (Her original SID body drove me nuts). Well—I finally had her new body arrive last week, a Telesthesia/Dragon doll 65cm girl body. It's exactly what I hoped it would be, and I'm so happy Asami now has a body suiting of her.

Not on par with finding a grail, but did have a couple orders arrive safely and had good luck with color matching a couple floating heads.

A body I had ordered from a dealer a few month ago, that had had no tracking updates for almost a month arrived this week. The resin color works really nicely with the first floating head I'm trying to make into a hybrid doll. But the really cheering thing was that her former temporary body, an Angel of Dream 1/4 girl body, is a good resin match to the Dollits Eunsu head that also just arrived last month. So, yay!

I'm having the worst luck ever with my last 2 outstanding orders, so reading thru these posts is kind of cheering me up. I did manage to find a perfect secondhand body at a great price earlier this year for one of my last two floating heads, though-- and it was the head I was having the hardest time finding a good hybrid option for, too. And I did have good luck with the recent order of extra hands and feet I just got from Doll Family H thru Alices Collections-- not only did they get my order finished and shipped really fast, but not a single finger was broken despite one whole side of the box getting smashed in transit. And I succeeded in using Rit Dyemore to get an absolutely perfect colormatch on the hands with no screw-ups or near-disasters, too...which was great, because historically I am not awesome at dyeing resin. So it's not all bad!
