1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. If not Alice In Wonderland, what story would you like to see sculpts for?

Aug 5, 2014

    1. I would LOVE this! I haven't read those books for 40 years, yet the characters are unforgettable. One of those DC ladies with the extra joints would be a wonderful Irma.

    2. That's one of the reasons I love Soom so much! All the fairytail themed dollies~
Red Riding Hood themed dolls are my favs tho~

    3. Little Mermaid that would be awesome!

    4. I'd personally love to see a sculpt based off of Eurpidies' Medea.

    5. I'd love to see La Sylphide dollified! That's my fav ballet of all time! And there are certainly characters from the WoW lore that I'd go for :D How could you not want Sylvanas?! Think how cool the Consortium faction could look....

I'd love to see the King Killer Chronicles turned BJD. Kvothe and Denna, Felurian, and the Chandrian :D
Discworld might be fun too, I love to see Mr. Teatime.

    6. A series of dolls inspired by folktales around the world would be awesome~ But just classic Snow White would be really nice, I'd really like to see the seven dwarfs, and Snow White herself of course.

    7. I'd vote for a Canadian classic by Pierre Berton ...

The Secret World of Og is a children's novel written by Pierre Berton and illustrated by his daughter Patsy. It was first published in 1961 by McClelland and Stewart.
This Canadian classic has sold more than 200,000 copies in four editions.
Of his forty-seven books, this was Berton’s personal favourite, partly because the characters were inspired by his own children. The Secret World of Og brought the author more fan mail than anything else he wrote – at least a dozen letters a week from children across Canada.
      [h=2]Plot introduction[/h]
In this fantasy adventure, four children — Penny, the leader; Pamela, her common-sense sister; Peter, whose life’s ambition is to become a garbageman; and Patsy, who collects frogs in her pockets — set out in search of their baby brother, Paul, better known as “The Pollywog,” who has vanished mysteriously from their playhouse. Accompanied by their fearless pets, the children descend through a secret trapdoor into a strange underground world of mushrooms, whose green inhabitants know only one word: “OG!”

    8. I think I might be afraid to have a Chandrian BJD around. ;) But definitely Kvothe, Denna, Felurian and Bast! (Gotta have those fantasy parts sneak in there after all.) Though, to be fair, most of Felurian would be in the sculpt and faceup, so she's likely be the easiest of the characters to pull together on your own. And the cheapest "fullset" around. ;)

    9. Yeah, you're probably right about the Chandrian... Haliax just sounds so creepily amazing haha. I was just thinking that I forgot both Bast AND Auri on my little list here! Goodness, yes, let's just take a second to think about Bast.... *swoon* There are so many great characters to be explored in those books though. I've been wanting to create a Kvothe of my own for a long time, I'm just a bit slow I guess, and get seduced suddenly by other dolls *_*

    10. If you ever do it, I'd love to see it! (And heck, Pat Rothfuss might enjoy seeing it, too.) An Auri would be wonderful to see, too, and could be such a fascinating fullset, with a focus on props over clothes for her. I could probably be heavily tempted by an Auri set that included Foxen and Fulcrum. ;) There really is a lot of potential there, and even if it's just people doing it themselves, I'd really love to see it happen!

    11. Maybe this is a little silly but I'd really like to see sculpts for characters from The Faraway Tree. Moonface particularly has the potential to be a really interesting doll. The Saucepan Man would make a really nice fullset. Mr Watzisname, I feel, would have a really big nose and probably some quality eyebrow game. The Angry Pixie would be, well, angry looking, but also dainty. And obviously the kids would have some more 'normal' looking sculpts.

    12. Ah yes! I just finished reading The Slow Regard of Silent Things. I've always loved Auri, and that book just made me fall in love with her even more!

Tbh, I'm looing at Dollshe's Grant for Kvothe. I think he'd suit him quite well.

    13. The Hobbit or Lord of the Rings. :D

    14. Frances Hodgson Burnett's books characters:) All of them. Actually, I intend to look for doll that would make a good Mary from The Secret Garden :P Perhaps Dragonlance series.

    15. I had the same reaction to reading it! I'm so glad he was convinced to put that one into print.

And I can definitely see it! If you go through with it, I definitely want to see that. I'm pretty heavily invested (pun absolutely intended) in the other characters I'm making here, or I might take a swing at them myself. And while it would definitely be easier if the sets and parts existed to buy (like all the Alice stuff), I'm kind of digging the challenge of seeking out or making stuff to match how these characters have been either shown or described.

    16. I would like to see characters from games of thrown's like aria, john snow,Daenerys, Dothraki, the dragons hehe!
i would like to see also from fairytails like thumbelina, more swan lake the anime version in 1981, the last unicorn and the wild swans!

    17. I would love to see some dolls based off of the Humpbacked Horse story, or the poem it was based off of.

    18. Oh definitely. I was reading the end note like 'there are people who don't like this????!!!?....Idjits' I loved the look into her personality and purpose.

Part of what got me into this hobby was how much there is for the owner to do and create. Much more rewarding than buying whatever. My trouble is, that I tend to have this 'if it's not perfect right away, just forget it', which unfortunately means I dont' get a lot done  Trying to convince myself that practice makes perfect

    19. The great thing about this hobby is that very little is ever a permanent decision. If the eyes or wig don't fit the character you're building, then you can switch them out. If you love the themed fullset except for this one little part, you can switch it out, and switch it back later if you change your mind again!

One of the character dolls I'm working on is Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist. There was a limited fullset doll released to look like him at one point (though I don't think it was properly licensed; I'm not entirely sure). I've seen the fullset, the sculpt, and the body detailing, and I think it looks great! But it's not the face or body or wig I would have picked, so I've never sought out that particular doll or any part of his fullset on the marketplace. In this case, that fullset actually existed, and I elected to make different decisions than what the company did.

So even if there's a hundred different Alice in Wonderland releases out there, with all their fullsets out in the community, there'll be plenty that don't look the same, and there'll be even more that are created by the owner in a different direction from those existing fullsets.

(Though I still wouldn't mind some clothing fullsets for Ed and my other characters to make my job putting these characters together easier...)

    20. I would love to see dolls that are a steampunk reimagining of the Wizard of Oz.
