1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

If you could go back in time...

Jul 6, 2008

    1. I would have gotten into the hobby a few months earlier.. so I could grab SOOM Beryl. XP

    2. I only have one major regret: not buying Volks Williams when he was released. I had the money, but thought he wasn't going to be very popular and I felt the need to save some more so my bank-account wasn't empty after buying him. BIG mistake. *_* I will still have him one day, but to know I could have had him already if I hadn't chicken out... that stings a little.

As for my other dolls, sure, I sold the first version of Alikaj and am planning of selling the first version of Zana as well, but I don't mind. At the time, both molds were perfect for their characters and even though there are better molds for them now, I still love the old ones. They simply don't fit anymore.

    3. Would I do it differently? Oh yeah!

For a start I would have bought a Celestyn before they were discontinued. I would have bought Beryl and Sard even though I didn't like the heads. Also, I would have put more emphasis on how well they pose instead of what they looked like when I was body shopping as well as making sure I had clothes that fitted.

    4. Well, things would have been different if I started at a different time and knew everything that would happen in the future... but that's true of anything--AND it is something that can't be changed, after all, so I can't regret. I did what I felt best at the time and I'm happy with my dolls.

Plus--you know, if it's really a big deal, people can sell what they've bought and buy the other dolls as they come out. Most do!

I'm not good at selling dolls, so I'm pretty careful about making sure I want what I'm buying, since I'm likely keeping them forever. Sometimes I do want to change things, but mostly I'm content. I've been very lucky about what purchases I've made and what dolls I have--and I'm very grateful for that!

(The main thing I wish to change is what nearly everyone wishes--that I had more money to buy dolls!) :)

    5. No. 1: Get that SA Shisengumi Bermann. I was too dumb to know what and how Bermann was sold. Dumb dumb

No. 2: not getting some of the dolls which I had to sell later because we did not bond. Save me some time and headache dealing with dollie sale

No.3: not getting some outfits what look ok on the pictures but my boys HATE to the end of time.

Other than that I am all good

    6. I totally wouldn't have missed out on so many dolls. Woosoo, Bermann, Gambler El, Sard, Elf Ducan...I'll probably pick them up someday in the future, but it would've been nice to be able to have them now. But some of them I just didn't really want until way after they were gone and I saw beautiful owner pics. :) As for dolls I owned right now, I probably wouldn't have jumped the gun so quickly on some of them, but I like to think I would have at least owned dolls with the same character. So, at heart, I would have gotten the same doll...maybe. ;)

    7. I don't think I'd change anything. I love my crew to bits, and I don't regret a single one of them. I would have maybe bought some more clothes along the way, but other than that, I'm perfectly happy with how my little family is growing.

I may have been not quite as picky in terms of size, as until about a week ago, I never considered for a moment I may ever own an SD because I love MSDs so much. I'm sure I missed out on a few awesome finds because of my choosiness, but at the same time, I wouldn't have my current crew if I'd been less picky. So it all works out in the end, lol.

    8. I wouldn't have been so impulsive early on when I joined, I bought alot of dolls on a whim, felt guilty and unloaded them far less than what I paid. Though I still have my hound, my modded Soony and my VDES that were among the first I bought.

I wouldn't have bought a Celestyn, only to sell her/him a few months later, and I wouldn't have traded my beloved Half Elf Naricissa for a tanned half elf..then buy her back for much more than I paid the first time around {luckily the tradee felt my pain of trading her and let me buy her back.}. though I am selling the tanned to make up for my mistake.

    9. If I could go back in time knowing what I know now, I would have bought (or tried to buy) some of my dolls before others. I also would have been less impulsive with clothing purchases!

    10. Yes, there are dolls that I wouldn't have bought. Promo pics are deceiving & what looks like a great face-up sometimes turns out to be just blah. I guess I would have waited to see actual owner's pics of the doll but even some of those didn't show the real appearance too well.

Also, I wouldn't have bought any MSDs. The big kids & mature tinies are really my thing but I thought there was a place for the 43cm. gang & now I'm getting ready to sell all of them. I would have been more selective about clothng as well. I have a lot of stuff that I never use since my dolls' styles have evolved over time.

Basically though I'm pretty happy with what I've done. I have some wonderful dolls & have been fortunate to even get a few specials.

    11. I really love my collection as it stands now - I've achieved things I never thought I would when I started out -

      BUT...

given the luxury of a time machine, I would have bought every-blessed-Customhouse-Merchen-Ai-fullset my arms and salary could stand in the days when their dolls were without peer. :abow:

Oh, and a Tensiya Bernard, who I thought would be around forever... I only have to think about those gorgeous, subtle face-ups and, well :doh:doh:doh

    12. Did you see the gorgeous Rooa that's on sale in the Marketplace?

    13. I would've held off on a few eye and accessory purchases... But I love my dolls as are X3

Though I totally would've saved for a Reisner if I had known how smitten I would be now...

      ~Ari

    14. if I could go back in time.....
I'd enter for Suigintou for sure!!!!
(gee, look at the price now, I can just keep the outfit and sell the doll out again *____*)

    15. hmm i think i wouldn't buy camine for my yume character and i would buy yder - but at last i got yder and got used to camine as yume so... i wouldn't change anything :)

    16. I've loved dolls for 3 years before getting one. If i could go back in time i would have bought myself as many dollshes as possible. They are my fave mold/maker and now the price is so stupidly hight i probably will never have as many as i would like.

    17. hmmm...I'm very very attatched to my family and I don't think I'd have gone about their creation in any other way. Maybe all the website browsing was a bad idea... Now I want quite a few :sweat BUT I've planned how to aquire and pay for them all safely, so no, I don't have any HUGE regrets. Other than actually discovering such an expensive hobby AND discovering it was my total favourite, instead of pullip or blythe collecting *_* (they're still expensive...But compared to a BJD? No way :o)

    18. I wouldn't have done any of the buying of stuff I did in January and would have saved my money to buy a puki posidion *wants* Plus I probably could have had my girl by now...

    19. Of all the thing I would loved to go back and time to get a Cherry Dreams Torrie T.T

    20. Nope, I wouldn't go back into to time because it could change the outcome of the present day, figuratively speaking. :)
