1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

If you could set one standard to producing BJDs...

    1. Far too small!

I might get beihind them being SD size - all those lovely LittleFee type dolls in SD size would be fabulous.

Only helps if you have an RFID reader...

Yes - but not white, it always looks so... unfinished.... (like it slipped out of the factory without them addign the colour) to me.

      YES!!

      And yes

I'd also like standardised pictures for clothing listings.
A front-on view of each item without being layered as a whole outfit or "artistically" posed, or with the camera angled down from above... etc - I want to be able to see where the waistband of the trousers hits the doll without an untucked shirt obscuring it, or where the hem of the dress comes down to without it being shown from a slight downwad angle so you can't tell if it's above or below the knee... etc.

    2. And a picture of the BACK of the outfit. Hooooo... I'm fanning myself right now, cuz that is a sore nerve this point hit on.
      Case in point: this dress.

      Hot mess under spoiler.
Mind you, this dress was made for this body:

    3. Oh my gosh YES. I have fallen in love with sculpts from the front and when turned to the side look so unappealing. Profile and 3/4 views of all sculpts should absolutely be mandatory!

    4. I agree with blank views of everything! In good lighting, too! I love the artsy photos but darn I want to see the actual products T_T

    5. I'm 100% for:
Blank views of all sides (a video of a 360º blank doll is also a delightful addition, as DoDollsDream has done in some reels). It drives me crazy when a sculpt is appealing from the front but the company seems determined not to show a profile view! Or they get very sneaky about showing how a particular joint works (covering it up with clothes and props, etc.).

More tans and dark browns available consistently. And NICE-looking tans and browns - not grey-browns and orange-tans, please.

On that note, I would be grateful if more companies accepted custom color requests. There are a few sculpts I would love to have in specific colors, but aside from dying the dolls, it isn't possible to achieve those colors, and in at least one case (wanting an achromatic white) even dying can't help.

    6. THESE 100%. Why is it so hard to find measurements?! And why do so many companies not show blank photos of their sculpts?! It's especially aggravating if the company also doesn't offer faceups so how are we supposed to know what we're even getting.

I'd also like to add that I would like to see a standard for what measurements are listed. Some dolls seem to only show a few while others go all out. Would like to see a basic minimum.

    7. I wish it was standard practice to show resin comparisons when companies change their default casting resin type/colors. I want to know if the new standard "peachy beige" or whatever matches the old normal skin or if it's a completely different color!

Every full doll purchase should come with two copies of the CoA so that, should the body and head ever be separated, one copy can go with each part. It would also be nice to have a second copy stashed in case the original ever goes missing, since many of us keep our dolls through several moves and find that we've misplaced things when it comes time to sell.

I also wish more companies were transparent about which clothing products they sell are actually from taobao. It just feels gross to find a beautiful clothing set on a company's site only to find out later that the original maker is on taobao selling the same outfit at a fraction of the price.

    8. Oh that dress from the back is just insulting. That would be so upsetting to get!

    9. Funny you should mention that. It actually goes along with my dress issue above. I purchased the green dress outfit pictured above on Taobao because at the time, It was sold out at ACBJD, and I wanted greeeeeeeen. I purchased the purportedly same dress outfit from ACBJD in pink. I say "purportedly" because... it is not the same outfit. Not by a long shot.

The fit on the pink dress is perfect - no bunchy-bunch back. The stockings that came with the pink outfit are lined - there's no risk of staining the vinyl. The green dress outfit came with black stockings that I refused to put on the vinyl doll for fear of staining.

On Taobao, the green dress outfit was about half the cost of the pink dress outfit on ACBJD. I will only purchase from ACBJD now. Results above are why.

    10. I agree with everything so far. Standard foot size so shoes can be easily purchased. Standard resin colors for hybrids - some of my heads would have bodies if this was the case! Blank photos from all angles and all measurements on the sales page.

    11. I am so spoiled by the one touch system, so very very spoiled.

    12. I'd love it if all BJD manufacturers offered just the heads for sale (looking at Loongsoul here) and that it was more common to be able to make special requests like resinsoul offers so you could get a specific with different fantasy parts or in custom resin colours.

Definite agreement on having pictures showing the nude doll from every angle. Heavily edited photos of the doll with face-up can make it really hard to imagine what the nude doll looks like.

    13. I'd looove it if companies either had the option to choose a male OR female body for any doll, and/or if they all had just heads available as an option!
I really only collect male dolls, but there are a lot of female heads I'd like to use for male dolls without having to buy the whole female body, buy an extra male body as well, and THEN spend months trying to find someone to buy the female body ahaha.

Definitely would love the standardized resin colors mentioned earlier in the thread as well! My desire to create hybrids and my perfectionism about resin matches are always at war.

    14. The option to order a wig in any color offered by the company. Or even just more colors available, seems like black and platinum blonde are common and others aren't.

    15. I wish fullset outfits could be purchased separately! And if heads could be ordered without bodies. Honestly, I’m thinking of Fairyland lol Cuz if they offered their outfits without having to buy the full doll, I’d be collecting every event :XD:

    16. As resin colours and hybriding has been mentioned a few times already - NS yellow avail everywhere pls, I want to have the option to upgrade bodies that go with older yellowed heads.

    17. Maybe this is more of a "me-problem" but I'd love if there'd always be an option to buy the exact same eyes the doll is shown with in the promo pics (I wouldn't mind paying a bit more for them). I'm not a fan of the "random eyes" that most companies include. So far I've never received any good ones but always liked the ones from the promo shots. Same goes for clothing, but this is less of an issue as most companies at least include the clothes with the fullsets. That being said, as others have already mentioned, I really would want to be able to buy clothes/accessories separately.

    18. I so agree with standarised feet sizes!!! It's the issue I have constantly the most. I've even stopped myself buying certain dolls if they have in-between shoe sizes because I'm quite tired of searching for shoes that fit their characters.
But of the things mentioned I also would like to see:
      • Tans and darker skin tones always available as an option (and no, not being sold as limited either, I find it weird that having options for realistic skin tones are exploited as limited releases).
      • Standarised resin colours would be great, especially when you get a head from an artist without body option and you have to search for a match or it limits you so much on what body you can get.
      • Sculpts being shown in all angles not only the front, nude and without faceup, and the option to buy heads or body only or choose male/female body.
      • Measurements should always be available and as accurate as possible, not just approximate.
      • Transparency in waiting times. Sure, things can happen and I can be understandable of issues if there is communication but some companies have the trend of always saying less to sell more. I would prefer they say more than it is and I receive the doll before the estimate than not way past it. If they don't stick to them, then some sort of compensation should be given.
      • Show resin comparisons if the company changes the skin tones.
      • Easy way to change hands. I don't need magnet necessarily but any system that doesn't involve me having to put in the strength to keep the hook/elastic from going to the void.
Of things that haven't been mentioned I would also add:
      • The option to always buy garage kit/unstrung dolls.
      • Videos about the posing capabilities of the body.
      • Transparency about the doll posing. Both in general and always disclosing if the body has had any modification before the video/photo, or if some sort of posing aid is included with the body when you buy it, for example silicone pads, wiring, sueding, etc. I've received 4 dolls in the past with wiring without my knowledge. I don't mind they come with it, I just want to know beforehand what I'm buying.

    19. I wouldn't want to restrict or force artists to do or change any artistic choice but I would set business/ethics standards to avoid Dollshe-like situations.

    20. A standard size for 1/4, 1/3 and so on.
I remember buying a nice 1/4 clothing set for my 1/4 doll...and had to return the clothes because they were almost double the size of my dolls´ body. :doh
