1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Illusion Spirit Doll Discussion

Sep 4, 2009

    1. I wonder (because I am new here). When I order Annabele, you can order the jointed hands with her. Do I get her 'normal' hands as well?? Or just the jointed? Because I do like her and thinking of buying her.

    2. I allready ordered her!! and I wil have both! so the jointed and her 'normal' hands as well. And it doesn't take long that I will have her home because she is on her way to europe!

Well I do not want to make another entry so I will edit this

She is in France! And she almost has her face-up! So next week I will see the final photo's and then she is ready to go!

    3. Does anyone know good color match for white Illusion Spirit?

    4. I've got a quick question for the owners of the mini boys; where do I find clothes that fit? I'm trying to get Otavi a nice, classy outfit (shirt, tie, nice pants), but what I've tried on him so far is way too short and too loose. Any suggestions?

    5. Thank you, dev-nyo! Did you get the shirt and pants separately? Because I tried this set and it didn't fit; maybe it's just the way it was put together, but the sleeves are way short.

    6. i got them seperate.
      this:

      and this:

I also got this and it fit really well too. a little short in the legs but again not too bad if you pair it up with black socks.
i should say tho it did flood a little more than the black pants on him and they were just a little snug around the butt.

    7. Thank you again! I'll give them a try.

    8. Hi i am saving up for my first doll and i am planing to get a zhuqing doll as my first doll.

i was wondering how hard is it to re-string since it will be my first doll and i am worried i might damage it by mistake or something.

Also does anyone make their own clothes for their doll here? Is it hard to sew something that size, if i am use to sewing normal sized things?

    9. Hello and welcome!

Don't worry about re-stringing. It does take patience and care, but it wasn't all that difficult. I re-strung my Zhu Qing using just some chopsticks and some ribbon, but if you have better tools it'll probably be even easier.

As for clothes, I can make simple things for 1/4 dolls. The only clothes I find difficult are things that have complex design or many details (or that are fine-tailored, which is why I'd rather buy Otavi's formal clothes than make them). Again, if you are willing to be patient and work hard on it, you could make quite complex things in very small sizes.

I just have no patience. I prefer to keep my complex sewing human-sized. ;)

    10. Thanks! I also have no patience but when i see my finished piece i feel accomplished :) I cant wait to buy my doll! I almost have enough money

Oh one more question... How accurate are the measurements of zhuqing on websites selling him? I want to start making some clothes now before i get him.

    11. Attacking because of the ver 2 of the male and female bodies

I am not sure what to think of the new bodies. First off I haven't really compared the two other then I see a difference in the elbow joints and the lacking joint in the hip area. Since I don't own a 1/4 IS (but LanXing would be it if I ever DO own one) I was wondering how you think the new changes will be. As in, are they good changes or not really needed... I also noticed a big price tag on the bodies as well...

    12. Hi, I now own my first IS doll, Lin Xi. I am really impressed with this doll. The only thing I wish she had arms that could pose a little better. I love her default face up. She's a bit creepy, and yet sweet as well.
Anyone else have her, and what do you think of her?

    13. Wow--so I ordered a ZQ boy from Mint last August during IS's summer event? Little sucker's already on his way to the states! :? Need eyes & wig, STAT! XD (sooo didn't think he'd get here till January...sheeesh!) Reeeeaaallly excited, though. :3

    14. Congratulations on your order! Be sure to post photos when he arrives.

    15. I definitely will. ;) By the way--I've noticed this varies company to company, but...what size eyes do you guys think look/work best for Zhu Qing? I've been stuck on this idea that you can only use 18 mm eyes for 1/4 dolls, but... the more I look around at other peoples' dolls, the more my girls seem bug-eyed with their 18 mms. e___e;; If I want a nice, mature look for ZQ, what size eyes should I choose? x:

    16. My Zhu Qing wears 14mm eyes and I think they look just right. But I haven't tried any other size in him, so I don't have much to compare with it.

    17. Okay. o: A question: if you have the time/ability, would you mind maybe snapping a shot of your boy without his wig so I can get a better look at his eyes? (It's so hard to tell with his bangs in the way, ahahaa! xD) If you don't mind, that is. > <;

    18. If I have time tomorrow I'll take some photos then. I was hoping I had some good shots of his eyes, but they're all far too blurry to be useful.

    19. That's fine! That'd be really great, and super helpful, actually. D: I really appreciate it. <3
