It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. In your opinion which one doll company to you is the most expensive??!!

Sep 9, 2014

    1. Volks, while Crobi and Fairyland both have an almost equal bearing in numbers in my collection, 7/10 dolls in my wishlist are Volks and I'm prepared to pay 1k for my grail doll's head which is among them to say the least. That alone puts the company above all else over here xD;

    2. Enchanted doll. 'nuff said

    3. Hmm...I think the most expensive doll I'll own will be a Volks. But I consider Fairyland altogether more expensive. And Cerisedoll.

    4. I think the most expensive are Volks, Soom and IpleHouse.

    5. All of my most expensive dolls have been hybrids I've put together, things add up when you have to buy parts x, y and z to make a single doll. For one I had to buy a head from one place, body from another, an arm from another, hands from yet another and I need to buy feet from somewhere. Plus his wig, eyes and a few clothing sets. And shoes. I also replaced his head twice, and have sent him to two face-up artists.

As full dolls my most expensive were a second-hand Dollshe and a second-hand HyperManiac, both were time or number limited and no longer being made.

As far as new from the maker? I haven't really though of my VS as being the most expensive, as I've usually bought Full Sets and have been able to split off the parts I don't need. So my recent $1100 full set, I traded the body for a body I needed (an even trade that I would have had to spend at least $800ish on otherwise, sold the outfit for $80, so in the end I got the head, wig and shoes for $280. Expense sort of depends on what you need and how you do things.

If I decided I had to have a brand new full set, with all the bells and whistles straight from the company, my pricey list would be Soom, Fairyland, Luts, Iplehouse, Souldoll, Volks, Popovy and Enchanted Doll. And that is only the high end in "on-topic for Den of Angels" BJDs. Each of them have had doll prices in the $1500 range or more for special limited full sets.

    6. I think Enchanted Doll might be the most expensive, but Popovy is very expensive too, with the nude doll being around $900, a faceup $500 more, and a wig can run $400-$800 more... then there are the costumes. Gorgeous dolls though, each piece is a work of art so I think the prices are justified.

    7. My current most expensive doll will be my PW Dlight, who with all her extra parts, ED eyes, tan skin and custom faceup is coming out around 850$ (without shipping) @_@
Before that it used to be my FS Homme Ducan, at around 650$
I always thought Volks would be out of my price range but now that I know their prices better I think I will finally get that one Volks doll I like.
Oh also, Kaye Wiggs dolls. While normally priced at release, once release is over they're hard to get and prices skyrocket -__-

    8. Volks, SOOM, Iplehouse.

    9. My most expensive (probably because he's my only SD more than anything) is my DOD boy... They can have some steep prices if youre forking out for the face ups! (Custom face up kills but my boy is perfect so...) That being said i would happily spend a lot more for second hand limited/discontinued DOD sculpts... Luts seems expensive in its own way too...

    10. Volks of course. Also Soom and Dollshe

    11. For me it's Fairyland and Soom. Happy that I don't interesting in many other.

    12. Volks...Switch.. they are so popular to people and make so many limited items. That's why they are so expensive...

    13. Just scanning the marketplace, it seems Soom and Volks dolls are the most expensive. I'd almost include Fairyland as they tend to be a bit pricey for basic dolls (much as I love their molds!).

    14. The most expensive dolls I personally own are from DollShe and Latidoll, and for a couple of reasons:

      1) I bought them new (almost all my dolls are secondhand)
      2) They were only obtainable as fullsets, so...
      3) I then ended up spending more to customize them the way I wanted

I'm not going to rule it out, but I don't think I will ever spend the amount of money I have on one go as I did on those two. They weren't even as pricey as some of the others mentioned here, but definitely more than I am comfortable spending on dolls.

    15. Volks....and it's only the body =__= $1000+ for a body is insane but being part of this hobby makes you a little bit insane sometimes.

    16. I would agree that Volks is the most expensive company. The most expensive doll(s) I've purchased are Sooms. They are lovely though, and they are worth the price in my opinion :)

    17. Volks, Iplehouse, Soom, and Fairyland in my experience.
I do understand why Fairyland would be somewhat higher priced than other doll companies, because of their dolls posability. However, it's hard to justify the prices for their SDs in my opinion! Iplehouse is the same way, and they aren't known as having great posing doll bodies...
The most expensive doll I have bought was a Dollzone Anson, but after getting her, I could completely understand her price! So detailed...

    18. I have my eye on a doll or two from Fairyland and Soom, I don't really know many doll companies, however I do feel that these two and Volks are up there on the pricier end of the doll company spectrum.

    19. To me, volks, bluefairy and doll cheatau is the most expensive to me, some second hand volks is even more expensive. I am getting some soom teenie gem because I just love them~

    20. Volks... sadly. They are my favorite company but their dolls are so expensive! Even non resin ones (Dollfie Dreams) go for thousands of dollars second hand! That's just crazy.
