1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Iplehouse Discussion (YID, nYID, SID, EID, HID) Part 13

Sep 8, 2021

    1. Felix is a very versatile sculpt - he sure could look more like a ‘king’
if he had a beard or even a 5o’clock shadow!

    2. I actually have a character who would have fit the age-progressed-faceup Omar from his original release, but shelling him out was not a priority (to the relief of my wallet).

Mustered the energy to do a simple photoshoot with the HEAVY dolls (Granado 75Adagio, Iple HID, combined with the relatively lighter nSID). Scarlet looks so tall because she's wearing killer heels with thick soles. She's probably hitting around 69-70cm because the robe she's wearing didn't even touch the floor, when usually it sweeps behind her like a train.

    3. Thank you! Dollmore is indeed dangerous - especially when they have sales. :)

    4. Just curious if some of the Dollmore doll stands will work for a large HID man?

Or if anybody know where I can get a doll stand that can support a large doll?

The day I'm able to order HID Falcon it will be my very first doll of that size, so I do not have experience with this size.

    5. @manabusama The stand I use for my heavy 75cm Granado guy (who I assume is as weighty as the male HID) is comparable to Dollmore's all-metal omega stands, and they work just fine. Not sure about the saddle versions though.

    6. Ok thanks :) I'll check it out.

I remeber trying a sadle stand on some of my larger dolls and the sadle part were too small for the crotch area of the doll, so it's probably a gamble to try a sadle stand.

    7. Kaiser makes stands that go from teeny tiny (6 cm) to BIG BIG BOY. I have a couple for my big girls (65 cm), and I even have one for a 3-foot-tall doll. They are waist-huggers, all metal, and I've never had any stability problems with them.

    8. Well, I decided that I didn't need, a "Prince" in the house. I just didn't bond with him, and a doll friend bought him.

    9. I found BJD doll stands from CoolCat that fit SDs up to 75cm, but I don't have any experience with this site.

    10. Have Iplehouse ever re-introduced any discontinued sculpts?

Originally I wanted and EID Taregan in ebony skin, but I lost my chance :(

    11. Well, as someone who has begged repeatedly for SID/EID Luna and been shot down every single time, I would say probably not.
(At least) one of their sculptors left to start Raccoondoll, which might explain why.

Then again, I never thought they would re-release the CREAA dolls, and then they went and did it twice in the past year. :abambi:

    12. @manabusama - I don't think they have, and I wouldn't bet on it, sorry. At this point they might even have to make a new "original" sculpt to make the molds from if they did, and the dolls they discontinued were ones that weren't selling well (anymore), so... unlikely they'd consider it worth the effort.

@MaleficentMrsofEvil - Two more of their prior sculptors started Creature Doll (now defunct) and Sartoria J. Pretty sure the latter is the one who did my favorite IH sculpts (Carina and Felix for example), because the styles are basically the same. But those sculpts are still available at IH, so... not sure if the discontinuations had anything to do with that.

    13. Huh. I did not know that. You really do learn something new every day.

Sad to hear I missed Creature Doll, but I'm glad to hear SartoriaJ has an Iplehouse alum - and they make big girls! Still begging Raccoondoll for a 1/3 girl. I know they have 1/3 heads, and they said they were thinking of releasing a 1/3 body.
SartoriaJ has the most beautiful faces and gorgeous clothing, but their female bodies are just too - smooth? (if that makes any sense) for me. I like the detailed leg sculpting of Iplehouse, but Raccoondoll posing is fantastic. I have the New Slim (not the new posing) body, aka version 3. It's phenomenal.
Now I just need them to make a big girl...

It's kinda sad. There are two more face sculpts Iplehouse makes that I would really love to own (Aria and Rexy), but after that, I think I'm pretty well done collecting Iplehouse dolls, unless they create something new and interesting. I get why 1/4 dolls are so popular. They're more affordable and easy to carry/photograph, but my heart belongs to the big dolls.

    14. I don't have high hopes for any other re-release though, but I thought I should ask about it here anyways.Tareagn were a sculpt also one of my friends here wanted, and missed the chance to get herself. I never thought IH would discontinue him, as he were the most African like EID sculpt they had, and so handsome and cool. And I felt he were one I could see based on one of my Sims 4 OCs. IH kept JID Benny and then they got KID Esi. the 3 of them all sculpts that would have gone well together as family.

But HID Falcon are pretty cool too, and I know he'll look awesome in ebony as well :XD: But since I won't be able to order for quite some time yet, it makes me super worried, because I don't want to end up seeing him discontinued too before I even got the chance to order

I don't think they will either. It were wishful thinking, so I just asked about it here. But I wouldn't mind a new original, similar to Taregan. What I really want is some of my my Sims 4 OCs (still a work in progress) in doll form. I have been thinking about it from time to time, to have my Sims 4 OCs custom made somewhere. But I don't have a whole lot of energy to deal with resin color matching because of my chronic fatigue, so I'll stick to IH sculpts and make the best out of it.

    15. Just curious what wig size fit a HID man?

I know the wig section on IH says HID 9-10 wig size. But just asking to make sure which size to go for when ordering.

I did an order from Etsy taking my chance at a stretchy size 9. It is a wig style that look great on an African character. It's not dreadlocks like I originally wanted but when I saw it I knew I needed it for my Falcon :D

    16. HIDs and EIDs men take 9-10 sized wigs for many brands...but for Monique wigs they can take an 8-9 size.

Edited to add: Stretchy head caps can vary...I even managed a Monique 7-8 on a Leonard head. :)
