Iplehouse Discussion (YID, nYID, SID, EID, HID) Part 13

I took some photos of my Limited Edition SID rs Luna today - she
doesn't often get out for photos - somewhat sadly... She sure is
a lovely gal and the artists Iplehouse had doing the painting back
in 2010 were *brilliant*. She is in what was more recently called
'glow' realskin resin. She's pretty much claimed this dress that I'd
made years ago, and a gorgeous @flowergirl silk robe as 'her'
signature look.
Hope that you like her too @MaleficentMrsofEvil !! Your wishful
comments were what 'made' me take my Tess out for photos!

I was wondering if anyone here had a Marien or a Mari that they could put on a nYID body?
I’m planning on a new doll and I need to know if the combo could work out.

Oh, she's gorgeous! I have an LE SID Yur from the same time period, the resin is still such a nice color all these years later.

I'm normally more of a lurker, but my own Luna (a Doll Choice order [nYID body] from 2016 when she was discontinued) just arrived back from the faceup artist today and wanted to share her because right now I'm just so... :

Tl; dr (too long, didn't read, aka summary): nSID Mari is a gorgeous fit on the nYID body. I also take back everything I ever said about the heads fitting across all bodies. nYID heads are definitely a different animal.

Close-up, side. Bianca fits with zero room for moving the head. You have to pull the head off the neck a bit to turn it:


With wigs. The nYID body's neck is much shorter than the nSID. I think it makes Bianca look like a giraffe, but I think Mari is adorable:

Is your light brown girl a Rexy, and her name (bestowed upon her by you) is Bianca? Threw me for a loop there. I think having almost all the larger female heads available to put on any of the larger female bodies (and the nYID boy body!) is definitely a sculpt-by-sculpt basis -- more of a "just because you can, doesn't mean you should."

People can do whatever they want however, but they may not be happy with the result! I couldn't imagine putting my Rexy (in avatar) on one of the larger bodies. Her features are more stylized than a lot of the other Iplehouse dolls, and I think that's what makes her seem out of place to me on a body with a longer neck.

And I was having issues initially with my Luna, since I ordered her on the nYID body -- I'd always known Luna to be on the EID or SID body so that was stuck in my mind. SID/EID are marketed as being more mature than the nYID, so I had to separate the sculpt from the character she's supposed to be for me. I think Luna looks balanced on the YID body, especially with the larger bust sizes. I had to remind myself that there are doll companies that make dolls with larger heads and smaller bodies, and it works just fine. My Luts SDF girl is absolutely lovely and has a much smaller body than my other 60cm+ female dolls, but looks like Megamind when you compare their head sizes lol.

This also makes me want to try my original!Yur head on an nYID body when she gets back from the faceup artist. For science.

 

No, I don't think so? According to the seller, she is the Bianca sculpt from 2013. She was part of the Nocturne circus series?

 

Bianca was originally from the Elemental Guardians series:

but also appeared in the Additiction series:
ITEM VIEW : Young - Bianca_The Addiction

Rexy started out as a Special Edition and then became a basic:
ITEM VIEW : Y.I.D Limited - Girl - Rexy - Special Edition
ITEM VIEW : Y. I. D Basic - Girl - Rexy

I don't know that it actually matters though.

 

The COA also says Bianca? But wouldn't that just be HILARIOUS if they accidentally sent Rexy?
She does have a very Rexy face, doesn't she?
I love her, whoever she is.

 

A mystery lady! All that matters is that you love her.
It would definitely an interesting mix-up! Could denote a busy time with Iplehouse? I like pretty much all the Iplehouse dolls, so if I ever received a mix-up I would probably ask if I could keep it and also ask to reorder what I actually wanted unless it was actually someone else's doll order and not a case of casting the wrong head sculpt for my order.

I agree that that "Bianca" looks like a Rexy sculpt.

I find this hilarious, because I've been wanting a Rexy, and here I already have one.

Tipp's an Eddie and was love at first sight the prefect mold to be an older version of my favorite book character. When I saw Rexy I found my prefect Ozma to go with him I swear the molds were made to be twins. (Though I use mine as the male and female versions of the same character, long store answered by the 2nd Oz book.)
