Thanks! Well, not recently ^^ Sold him years ago cause I never could find a decent wig for him, together with my Kamau and Ashanti. Regretted it badly and bought them all back

 

I loved this, but I did have a chuckle. Good for you. Some things are worth buying back.

Yes. A lot of changes.

 

Yes...these sudden changes are seriously going to hinder my future purchases.

They seem to want to drop most of Doll Choice and focus on re-opening Limited selections. Problem is...as the way they re-release Limiteds now...you can't change the type of body you want...if say you are ordering a SID female and want her on a HID body. OR if you want Strongman arms on either EID and SID males. Heck, right now you can't order a HID female sculpt on a HID body at all.

For FIDs it doesn't matter so much because you can usually choose the few body options that fits the FID head.

Plus they don't add many sculpts very often to the BASIC line....so that means that large portions of their inventory will not be available at any given time that Limiteds are not offered.

We used to pay a preimum price for DC and had to pay in full up front....it seems like a poor business choice to not want to play up that option....

 

I had to re-read it about 8 times. . . but I think what the mean with the reopening limited dolls and all is that they're going to allow for the heads in the doll choice while those dolls are reopened. I am not totally sure, but that's what it looks like to me.

 

@TatterPunk - It was confusingly written. And I hope you are correct. However, they also are temporarily stopping custom faceups. So that will affect some peoples orders at least in the near future.

 

Very true, I forgot about that one since I don't get faceups ever. It sounds like that's just temporary though, so hopefully it'll come back once they have everything under control again. Maybe all of this will make them able to get orders out faster again. . . . of course, after Dollshe pretty much ANYTHING is fast to me. I just miss the Iplehouse one or two week wait times of yore.

 

@TatterPunk - Yes, lets hope they get things under control and then put some options back.

 

In OTHER news, I am seriously considering Zera on the nSID body now. . .

 

Whelp there went my Vera elf in grey skin to make a drow plans, oh well.

 

@TatterPunk I hope you are right...that would make me feel much better if we could at least get the limited sculpts on other bodies when they are on offer. I'd love to see what you do with Zera I rather like the new SID body but need to play with my new girls a bit and make them some clothes and take photos to get used to it some more.

 

I’m with @LyanneNZ I would really like the opportunity to get a limited doll on a different body.

 

I'm hoping to be able to get her ordered either on layaway this month, or just PIF by next month maybe. I have been buying WAY too many dolls this winter. Probably stress buying to tell the truth >__>. Does Iple do the making of the dolls before or after you finish layaway? I can't remember.

 

Did you do it? I just got mine, after a wait time of nearly exactly two months, that's ok, isn't it?
She is fun to play with and pose. My only problem has been with the shoulder joints - even strung tighter than they came they do not hold the arms up well, there is too little contact between parts. I ended up sueding them. But other than that, I like her sleek and just a tiny bit more androgynous lines^^ And I guess falling in love with Zera is like, forever. I know I have been wanting that sculpt forever and a day... are there any Zeras here, lurking to come out and show their beauty, please???

As for the Doll Choice announcements... maybe it's because English isn't my native tongue either, but I felt that they have made it very clear that the discontinuations are not just temporary and that the limited sculpts should never have been in Doll Choice in the first place? It would be sad indeed if they would come back for limited order periods now with their original bodies only. I don't know, to me it all sounds like a new supervisor has taken over at Iple Land and is doing a spring cleaning there...

 

Ooo, Zera is a beauty! I would love to see owner pics of her.

I finally put my grail doll - Mari on the original SID body, small bust - on layaway during the sale. She will be my first big Iple lady since I had Sylvia years ago. I let Sylvia go soon after getting her, but feel ready to have larger dolls again. I see the feet and ankle joints on the original SID are so strange, but I think I prefer the aesthetics of the legs overall. We shall see.

Mandagore, I believe there has indeed been some new management going on at Iple. What a blow about custom faceups! I hope that change is short-lived, as it has always been so easy to order another of their dolls' makeups or alterations for a different mold. As long as the artistry is good (ie Perfect and Excellent!!!) though, that's so important

I am one of those (sad, lol) people that actually does keep a data base of my dolls. I record when I ordered, what I ordered, whether the doll was basic etc. Looking today I see that of my 30+ Iple dolls, over half have been from doll choice. I was already very disappointed at the cancellation of body, and then hand blushing but like luluna, this latest announcement has quite a major effect on my future purchase plans I am grateful that I already own the majority of custom dolls that were on my wishlist but sadly, I think it may be time to spread my wings.
