*sweats* Personally, I'm afraid of what outfit will come with that YID girl. Will it be something Anora demands? Probably. *wipes sweat from forehead with shaky hands* I've only got so much money, Iple. I can try to hold out against your dolls by saying I only need two, but...but...the clothes​...

 

Agreed - technically I have all the dolls I want, but you never know with Iple. And those outfits! *shudder*

Shame about the mermaid though. Although they did say "this year"....here's to hoping?

There are now TWO pieces! for sure.... check what you have it will have 2 straight edges...they are the center of the map... I used to do dollhouse miniatures. This site has all the printables people could use in the rooms i.e., newspapers, pizza boxes, trunks on and on. The largest scale is 1/6 for Barbie size so I don't know how well they would work sizing them up.
Maybe some of this stuff would be of use.

I just noticed theres a hobby calculator now with 1/3 scale.which is a tad small for big Iple dolls, but close enough to just size up a bit.

I just looked on Pinterest and there are printables and tutorials that can be adapted. Just put in dollhouse printables or tutorials.

 

I posted on the linked discussion. I got a different piece with my Scarlet. Looks like the lower left. I'll add a pic in that group tomorrow.

 

Hey Lady Tiku did you get a map piece with your Edan? Do they give them with all of the Carved Heritage dolls or just certain ones 0.o

 

Not with Edan... It appears to have been Bliss (top left), Cordelia (top right), Scarlet (bottom left), and Bane has one I can only guess it's the bottom right. Go here to see the 3 we have now... Dusk has promised a pic of Banes corner tomorrow ^^. I'm just dang curious if they will have something similar with the RE-release dolls ;p

 

Oh I hope so! I'd love for my Bliss to come home with one :3

 

After all we are doing here it would be funny if IH released the maps (all of them, treasure & world) in the 'accessories' lol.

 

I have emailed them about Bliss' maps that were issued with her original release, asking if they would be included in her re-release. They replied (paraphrasing here) that the maps were originally a "gift" to those who ordered the Bliss full-set (like the boots with Law and the wigs with Edan, among others), and would not be done again.

I think we should all write to Iple asking them to reconsider, perhaps offering it as an accessory as you suggested, to be purchased. I know I'd buy them! After all, Bliss' maps are such an important part of this story (and besides, how hard would it be for them to reprint more maps?). I am trying to collect all the full-sets, but got started late in the game (I'm so glad Iple re-released them to allow me to do so), but the fact that I will not be able to get Bliss' maps will always make it feel as if there's an important part of my collection missing.



On another note, thanks to all of you that chimed in about my question on eyes (and their possible yellowing over time) I will be printing out your responses for future reference for when I do another eyeball purchase for my "kids"

 

I was just thinking, There was no map with Eden or Lawrance.

 

I have Bane's part of the map and it is the bottom right corner.
There is no map with Lawrence.

I do find the map thing to be really weird -- there wasn't a piece with Leonard or Pamela, and while I understand that it was meant to be story-related, the distribution of pieces seems to have been a bit random, especially since not everyone got one with Bliss or Bane.

Sad that they've ruled out a mermaid for now, but maybe they'll see the demand and change their minds at some point. It IS a formidable engineering challenge -- you can make one that only bends in one direction and doesn't have gaps, but giving a hard resin doll a realistically-engineered mermaid tail, which can bend and flex and curl, is a difficult situation.

I've seen it done with spherical ball-joints and "sandwich" pieces in between, which seemed to have a pretty good range of motion -- but it was on an art doll, not a BJD who is intended for heavy handling (I have a feeling that the art-doll mermaid was intended to hold a pose and stay that way, rather than dealing with a lot of handling.)

It could be done like those wooden "snakes" that you can get at import shops (they're very poseable, and are made of cylinder pieces lined up on a string), but they do gap between the pieces if you make a sharper curve. Still looks pretty good to me, and I wouldn't mind if a mermaid had THAT level of gapping, especially if she had a fabric tail covering.)

Thanks so much for the eye info, Yuan_mdx! I'm always a little leery of ordering from sites that are written in a language that I don't speak, because I'm worried that I'll miss something important in the terms of sale/delivery info/etc. -- but that is really helpful!

Firstly I think only ppl who ordered full sets got the map and maybe a lucky few (if any) got seeming leftovers at the end of the original run. As for dolls not getting map bits... They went to the 'characters' that it was logical for them to have it... Pam, Leo, Law, Harace and even Edan would not have one since they were not "treasure seekers". The rest were making a point to actually 'find' it... so quite logical especially if you RE read the stories (I had to and it does make sense).

Good work Lady Tiku! Was that fun? It's like you went and did a little map hunting yourself. Too bad Bane didn't have you working for him or he would have gotten everything so much sooner.

 

As dumb as it seems it was lol. I am not artistically 'talented' so I channel my artistic creativity in other ways... I may not be able to 'create' stuff but I've become a wiz at 'gathering' and I may not be the one to make (as the old saying goes) "a silk purse out of a sows ear" but I can gather and guide those 'with' talents to do it ;p. I guess my time in theatre and being wardrobe mistress paid off... give me a direction and I can beg, borrow, snitch almost anything and find the ppl to help make magik ^^ As long as there are talented ppl and resources... ^^ there is a lot I can do ;p Alone pretty much flops though lol.

Bane would have loved me and Mom... since our budget was .... "can you work from zero?" (this would be where the beg/borrow/snitch came in lol)
