1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Iplehouse EID and SID Discussion Part 16

Jan 22, 2015

    1. The problem is how to take out the magnet...I'm not brave enough to drill it out.

Thanks. I will buy some medical tape to try.

    2. Just change it every few weeks... the longer it sits the more 'effort' to clean ;p... and I leave mine for up to 3-4 months on my Enyu (to tape on his ear magnets).

    3. With small wigs, I do a weird little thing where I hold the cap on with one or two fingers while my others manipulate the wig on, but I very much don't recommend that, LOL.

I second medical tape! I've also used thread sealing tape/plumbing tape, which is not adhesive, just plasticy. It provides a nice friction.

You could also put a very small amount of putty (I use the silicone ear plugs they sell in drug stores and pharmacies, but you could use the sticky/tacky kind as well) between the edge of the head and the head cap to give it some extra stick. I use that for my Pukifee, whose faceplate magnets are absolute crap.

    4. I just use UHU sticky tac. A small lump at the top and one at the bottom. It's not overtly sticky but it definitely makes all the difference.

    5. Thank you both! She's so lovely, I'm definitely adding her to my wishlist. Crossing my fingers that I'll get a nice tax return this year now ;P

    6. God Josh's monster hands all brushed last night and I'm really proud with how they turned out! He won't be using them much in photos yet because he's still fully human, hasn't had his little "accident" in the woods yet, I'm waiting for his glasses to arrive then I'll take more pictures of him and do some photostories. I hope they hurry!

    7. Cool blushing on the hands -- the "fur" really gives them a werewolf-y feel! :)

    8. :0 he looks great!

    9. I use Tamiya masking tape. It's great for everything with resin. Including attaching magnets to heads/backs for horns/wings/accessories. Here is what I'm talking about: http://www.leekeworld.com/En/Product/p_view.asp?it_code=563&B_catalog_num=26

A lot of the doll companies sell it. And it comes in multiple widths. I may have gotten mine from Volks or Leeke. I use a strip and tape long ways | covering the seam (where the headcap meets the back of the head - covering the iple logo) I do another one horizontal --- across the front on their "hairline" to seal the front of the head cap. You could do the whole head if you wanted to help the wig stay on if you wanted. I've had two pieces on one of my dolls with magnets for over two years and it just came right off like nothing was even there. I still Magic Eraser the head and it looked good as new. (I did put a small square down first on the resin, then the magnet, then a larger strip over the magnet to prevent the magnet from scratching/staining the resin)

    10. Thanks Ashbet and jacobean!

Here's what they look like paired with his monster eyes and a little photoshop added in, just amplified his dark circles. I glossed the nails and they look more real now.

    11. Artisticadelle if you are going for creepy you succeeded! No lie he gave me chills! All pretty and innocent and then he's this scary - what is he?

    12. Not really into werewolves, but he looks great if that is what his character is.

    13. Thank you! That's exactly what I was going for. And he is a werewolf. His book version is a little more monster looking, fangs and facial/body hair.
Thanks! Yeah he was bitten by a werewolf one night, I just gave him the scar on his arm.

    14. Not only are your dolls and photos fantastic, but I admire your get-up-and-go. I can't believe how much you got done within a couple of days of them arriving! Anora and Egon STILL don't have their tattoos. XD

      Love Josh's scar and hands!

    15. Aw thank you so much! It mostly depended on the weather, our weather here has been in that perfect sweet spot of 60's and no humidity so it's great for the MSC. And waiting for these two for so long has left we with a lot of pent up dolly energy I couldn't get out on my other three, so I just unleashed it the second they got here lol. And hey it took me a year and half to finish Alex, he needed tattoos which I didn't plan on doing originally. I got a new can of MSC today so I'm hoping to finish Andy's blushing/freckles tomorrow. He needs his freckles to go up his arms, neck, and chest so he'll get light blushing to match. And oh man Josh's hands took me forever. Forty minutes to just add the blush color to one hand. his scar was fun and I'm glad Alex let me give him a few back in december as practice haha, he's been my "expirementer", the one I try a new tattooing or blushing technique on.

I hope you can do Egon and Anora's tattoos soon! I want to see photos when you do, actually any of photos of them are all right with me :)

    16. Over in the Waiting Room, princesspink posted that Iplehouse told her Rex would be released as Basic within the year.

YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW HAPPY THIS MAKES ME /froths at mouth

    17. If Rex is going to be basic, did anyone asked also about Rebecca?

    18. It wasn't a general question but specific ones about the 'auction' Rex. so no... IH volunteered the info to P.Pink ^^

    19. Oh, I see. Thank you Lady Tiku for answer. I will just ask Iplehouse about Rebecca :d
