1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Iplehouse EID and SID Discussion Part 16

Jan 22, 2015

1. skogstoka I couldn't find white sneakers that look conversy, but there are a couple of pictures in the pants section with the red and black converse like shoes.

PS: I remember there was a discussion about the new EID women hand parts and that they're rather thin and look too skinny. I put nYid boy hands on my EID girl by mistake after I blushed the hands of my new family members, and they look very natural on her, better than the new EID woman hands actually. They are the same size, the fingers are just slightly thicker. I think I am going to order nYid boy hands for her.

2. ResinRapture thank you for that idea! I was just looking at Doria's hands and thinking they looked small for her body.

3. I agree with you fishcake!! And thank you ResinRapture! I will order my
Bellydancer Carina some nYID boy hands too!!
I wonder if this is the case with the new SIDw hands as well? It would be
neat to see a side by side comparison with the nYID had - which do look well
on the SIDw body.

I do love the new SIDm and EIDm hands on my guys! Much more realistic!
Nifty gloves - artisticadelle!

4. Thery are here, there are 4 colors to choose from :) ) But no one of the models in the pictures has the white ones :C

7. Yeah the new SIDw hands are very slender and the fingers are slimmer than my nYID girls hands, I don't mind it for Ember since I HATED her old hands. I took some comparsion pictures actually! One is below. Personally, I like both hands, and didn't like the nYID girl ones on Ember just because of how they are posed. Since I don't really plan to get another SID woman, I'm not too bugged by the hands but that's just me. I might end up ordering the new SIDw hands for my next nYID girl though, since she's supposed to be really small and delicate looking. Who knows.
Also I think they updated the nYID girl hands too, in Isis's pictures they look slightly more defined and the thumb on the left hand is positioned differently. It's subtle, but I notice everything lol.
And thank you!! I love how they turned out too!

8. The Blushing is Beautiful on New SID hands

9. Yeah, they do a beautiful job. I'm always tempted by those options in Doll Choice for fancy nails-- but I haven't had quite the money to go for it!

10. Just so you and others are aware, you don't need to be buying through DC to get the nails done. The separate hand blushing option does the exact same nails so you can get your hands (separately or part of a basic doll) and still get the same choices of fancy nail ;)

11. Ah ok. Yeah, thats why I asked here, they don't seam too have any :| very anoying

12. fishcake you could always just use some fancy tape or straws and cut them to shape. I only gave one of my girls fancy nails, and I redid them with a french manicure. If you go for lush colours and really play with your dolls it chips off like human nail polish. It looks crappy in pictures, so I am glad I only did it once.

13. Forever I did not know that--thank you!
ResinRapture I never thought of that either and it sounds really fun, especially since it's temporary! I have straws...;)

14. I actually use human nail polish on my dolls, and it doesn't chip! (I have dolls going as far back as 2006 that still have their original manicures, whereas using acrylic paint does usually wind up chipping after a while.)

This isn't an option if you're worried about staining -- I like dark polish and would probably re-do a dark manicure if for some reason I needed to remove their nail polish. But it holds up really well!

(DO NOT use nail polish on a doll's face -- it has no place in a face-up! But if you want colorful nails and don't want to have to keep re-doing them, human nail polish works a treat.)

-- A :)

15. If you are not worried about the stains, why not, sounds as if it's an option to make the manicure last longer, I used acrylic paint. But I don't even handle my dolls with painted nails. I stopped using coloured nail polish years ago-a couple of dark scratch marks on drawings and I learned my lesson. I would be afraid to use nail polish on a doll for the same reasons, and of course to avoid stains.

16. I wear dark nail polish all the time, so I have worked out ways of dealing with any marks (a Magic Eraser is good for getting any potential marks off a doll's face, and if the mark is on a non-body-blushed area, acetone takes it off without a problem.) Because any scratches are going to be very superficial, it's pretty easy to get them off.

Many of my dolls have black or deep-red nail polish, and I haven't had any Unfortunate Incidents so far -- I only rarely wind up with any marks at all, and if I do get one, it's usually from MY nails, rather than theirs! :)

17. Thanks artisticadelle for that comparison photo! Wow - what a difference!!! I am definitely going to
order my EID Carina the nYID boy hands instead. I do love the nYID gal hands - so expressive - altho
they can be a big tight getting into slinky slender sleeves tho!

I normally just use people nail polish on my doll's nails too - I do a coat of clear enamel first tho. And
then put on the color. I've never had any trouble, altho I do read that people have had bad results.

18. Do you use mister super clear first before painting the nails or do you just paint them?
