1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Iplehouse EID and SID Discussion Part 16

Jan 22, 2015

1. "Oxidation" means "changes that occur upon exposure to oxygen" (air) -- so, yes, the air itself does make dolls oxidize!

Indirect light still doesn't mean "no light" -- and temperature is also a factor (I notice that you live in Singapore -- does your doll display area get hot?)

All resin will eventually yellow somewhat (even dolls kept in boxes, because they aren't airtight.)

However, you can minimize yellowing by usually keeping dolls in a darkened area, and by keeping them fairly cool.

I have pretty good luck with dolls yellowing (even though I take them outdoors for shoots in the sun and heat), because I keep them mostly out of the sun, the rest of the time), and if my dolls are out on display in my living room, I switch up which dolls are out regularly, and don't leave dolls sitting out in the same outfits forever.

These are lessons learned from hard experience -- I had a lot of dolls displayed in "indirect light" (but plenty of it) in a previous house, and some of them got badly yellowed.

In my experience, Iple NS and LB yellow very minimally, compared to dolls from other companies. (I don't have any PG dolls.)

2. Fluorescent light also affects resin....
So even if kept indoors out of direct sunlight if in contact with fluorescent light will also be affected.

3. the only thing that has no effect on resin... is being in an airtight environment with zero light. And that can only last until it's out of the mold. after it's out... it's at the mercy of everything the world has to throw at it... all we can do is 'limit' what gets to it. ^^

4. I looked them up on Wal-Mart and it looks like I could also get some there.
EDIT: Found some and managed to fix his foot. I misplaced an s hook so I broke the other foot on purpose. His right has and eye hook that was opened so it directly hooks onto the elastic, and his left has one that hooks onto a s hook.

5. Like many, I love Iplehouse's nYID "Elizabeth" lace dress; I felt it might be
even more lovely if it had a bit more color. So, I decided to make some pastel
toned Under-Gowns for the lovely lace dress as alternates to the basic cream one.
I am pretty happy with how they turned out, favorite color so far is the pink

my Iplehouse DC nYID Grace "Nefret" is modeling - she's peach resin, medium bust.

6. OMG! :XD:*squee's like mad ^^ the ribbon! I never even thought of that!... I have a dark green one... I wonder if it's too dark ... omg I can't wait for mine! I looks wonderful... more 'light and airy' than the IH cream ^^.

okay ... back to being sick >< bleh...

7. LadyTiku - Thanks!! :) the ribbon was a last minute "wild hair"!! I love the added bit of color.
it is only pinned to her dress right now, but I am thinking I will finish the ends and add a snap
and make it a keeper bit of trim for her.
I need to go back to that store and see what other colors of stretch satin they have as I like this effect.

8. The overdress-underdress looks like it stepped right out of Jane Austen, Robyn! So pretty!

9. Love your modification to the Elizabeth gown, Robyn_in_WA. The only thing that's kept me from ordering the dress is that it's so unrelievedly white. This solves the problem and gives the dress so much more character. The pink ribbon is a fabulous finish. Jane Austen would approve!

10. Love how your girl looks in the dress, Robyn_in_WA ! The under-gown seems to suit the dress perfectly too ^^

Long time no see guys! I've been neglecting my BJDs a bit recently since other dolls and IRL stuff have gotten most of time :/
But here is a picture of my Carmen and Adalwolf's Ronya :D Carmen has a secret admirer, it seems...

11. Robyn in WA....oh I love what you did with that outfit. I do adore the outfit even as Iple made it too...and even have had my girls wear its pieces separately...but I love the idea of different colored under-dresses! How clever you are! :)

Safir...how nice to see your girl again!

12. hey guys! i don't own an Iplehouse doll but a friend who's new to the hobby ordered her first Iplehosue girl to France and it got held in customs. she wasn't able to release it, they wouldn't give it to her and the doll got sent back to iplehouse. now iple wants her to pay another $70 to have it shipped again and claims they have never had this problem with shipment to France!
my heart goes out to her, she's devastated and doesn't know what to do! is anyone here from FRANCE and has anything to say about this :/ ? i feel like Iplehouse is being a bit of a jerk to her to be honest not to mention taking for ever to reply to her.

13. try asking this in the Waiting room thread... wider owner base to see this... what doll did she order btw... this is a rather slow thread is all. More ppl will see this in the other thread.

14. oooh the waiting room is a good idea. i did post the question in the general form for iplehouse as well...thanks for the help.

15. Hey!
I live in Belgium so not far off but I had no trouble here so I know it's not really a help... I didn't have any problems with customs so I'm affraid the problems lies with France's customes..

Besides that I'm very new to DoA and I'm trying to get my way around here so I thought that I might take a look in the discussion as I have no clue where else to go ;) I have an SID Soo, who is certainly very strong willed... She gave me a hard time with who she is/was.
I must say Iplehouse does know how to keep creating dolls that would perfectly fit with some of my characters.. I'd love to get an Arvid but I'm afraid he'll be so big and heavy...?

My first doll was an Angell studio youth and she is very skinny so I had to learn how to deal with the SID's heft, which makes me wonder will I be able to work around a full EID man? Any advice on that :s

Love the pictures I've seen so far! ❤️

16. all iple dolls have their weights listed so for one thing you could find an equal weight to try? but EID men ARE awkward to handle (and i have tiny hands too). It can take time but you do get used to it... I recommend using both hand though lol. And start with a model body since it actually IS easier to grip with smaller hands lol. I consider it a learning curve. Physically you can get used to the heft... it becomes a matter of if you can learn to either 'like' handling the big guys or learning to deal with it and not care so much.
Try packing your SID "and" your AS in one arm... see what you think lol

17. Thanks! I think I'll try that and maybe I'll have to get him on the sid body... I don't really worry about the actual weight, I play rugby so I'm able to carry a bit of heft ;) The only concern I have is; will I pick him up and do stuff with him?

18. unfortunately EID men are the ones who do not go on other bodies ... AT ALL.... it's not even a choice in Doll Choice.

19. Ah what good luck I have Looks like I don't really have a choice then... I'll just have to except him as is, which won't be too hard since he's still gorgeous!
Is hard to find chlothes outside of Iplehouse? Or are they really just to big and bulky for all the rest?
