Iplehouse EID and SID Discussion Part 16

This is Bane? His face looks fuller than in Iple's promo pictures and his eyes look more wide open. Did you mod him in any way, or is it just the way he's painted that gives that illusion? Whatever you did, he looks good. Great work!

 

Sometimes I wonder if i would have gotten into BJD's if I hadn't run into pictures of Nobilitydoll's muscular female body, quickly followed by pictures of EID Bibiane. That day, those few minutes, seeing those two dolls, was what pushed me from "oh, that's cool," into "I need to have one." As lovely as other dolls are, and as much as I love more traditional BJDs now, the realistic women are what really drew me in and convinced me that this hobby was absolutely worth the cost.

He looks incredible! Once again, owner photos beat Iple's photos hands down, which is amazing considering that Iple's photos are really good!

I do love iplehouses realistic sculpts and how easily you can make them look! I've seen so many cool things all over the BJD world but I love iplehouse

 

Oh noooo now I'm torn about if I want Bane or Victor for one of my boys. Victor was my original plan but now Bane's tugging at that spot just like how Lawrence is for another character.

 

well how's this... Victor is a regular in DC.. we don't know when Bane will show up... get Bane.... if he's a dud sell him and you will be able to still get Victor?

 

Thank you all! I do think the shorter, bigger neck did something to make his face appear less narrow. He even looks better straight on. I'm going to keep him I think.

Ahahahahahahahaha I have no money ;; so By the time I'm able to buy another doll they might release them again. I do know for sure tho that Lawrence fits my boy better than Gentle Akando. Too bad my doll fund is in the negatives because I'd love to bring him home and give him all his tats and piercings.

 

lol well I caught a lucky break... my loan I promised to pay back (to an uncle) isn't due until JUNE for the first payment I thought it was sooner... so I can push the line a bit longer and still likely start payback early ... I hope.... IH are you listening? No playing dirty!

 

I also sometimes wish I got him fullset, because that uniform! I also sometimes regret not getting my Rebecca as a fullset. I really liked the Special Forces line; their fullsets could be versatile because my characters are mostly sleeper agents.

 

Oh man I wish I was that lucky. Unfortunantly the loan I need to payback to my
other account is about as much as what Lawrence would cost, not to keen on doubling that. Also I thought someone said that Leo would be in DC still after the event, so I'm guessing the others would be too? If so, I'm fully okay waiting a few years ^^

LOL not lucky if you consider the size... i got it initially to cover the cost of a pc and a tablet... and the specs I need mean $$$$$$$ at the time it was a 'must get immediately or risk all my data. I got lucky and saved a bundle on that though so the last of the loan went to my Leo (technically didn't cover it but meh), I don't know about him in DC... I wanted the tat so I never even thought about DC lol... eventually I might have but not at the time. I have a thing for the 'odd doll elements' like the "carved" tats and SIDw/strong arms.... Banes hook XD. I just need to get through this year and not be in the hole financially... I should be fine.... unless I get hit with more 'perfect' stuff for my overall plans (really getting a love/hate on with Cheerydoll ><)

 

Lol yup my loan from my other account was originally for a Macbook pro but since I'm not going to art school afterall I went with the much, MUCH less expensive option and was able to borrow the leftovers for Bliss and Edan. Still gotta pay that back before I can buy anyone else, and the next one will be an SID Shane. Not budging from my doll plans this time because I am dead set in them, all my characters have officially been filled, well ok I did budge alittle because Ember decided she needs tWO younger sisters!!!!! An nYID Grace and KID Lisa. Em stop it no.

yeah the odd doll elements are really cool! Of I didn't have them picked out for specific characters, I would have totally gotten Bliss with her tattoo. But Lacie, who she'll be, isn't into needles. If I had Leo picked out for Trevor instead of Lawrence, and I had the cash shhhh, his tat would have worked perfectly for Trevor and all his ink.

Now that Iplehouse is done making new dolls in Carved Heritage, I wonder what their next themed series will be about? It seems like that formula is working very well for them so I'm guessing they'll continue with it. Perhaps theyll have a more futuristic theme this time, I think that'd be really different from what they did so far.

Also, I was wondering if you folks knew of eyes that fits EID that have smaller irises? My Evan currently has 14mm acrylics in, and while the overall size is good, the irises are big and gives him a bit of a puppy look, which is cute because Evans have really soft faces, but not necessarily what I'm aiming for.

 

Eyecos have a LOT of white around the iris, and they're silicone, so you don't get gaps around the edges. They are very lovely in Iple dolls, IMO. You can buy them from Safrindoll.

 

Omg yes, what sidroq said. Eyecos are my favorite kind of eyes. All of mine have them so DarksStars I can post a pic if you want when I get to my laptop.

 

I believe their next theme is still going to be similar to the Carve Heritage one since it is supposed to be an addition to it. Though I would LOVE it if they did a futuristic theme and brought back that cyborg aspect they did with Bianca but pushed the envelope a bit and made detachable parts like armor or something. And maybe some TRON like outfits etc.

Oh yeah, having robot body parts could be interesting, tho I feel that other companies like Souldoll and Impldoll have already done that so maybe that wouldn't make it interesting for Iplehouse to do. I'd like to see them bring back more alternative parts to their limited dolls. With Addiction, they had all those Vampire and demons heads and hands, but with Carved Heritage, it felt like the look that they were selling was all in the face up and outfits and not necessarily in the doll sculpt itself. Anyhow, what ever direction they'll decide to take, I can't wait to see what these new dolls will look like and more importantly, what people will do with them!

 

I second that ! My 3 boys have Eyeco eyes. I put the smallest size (10mm) on them and that gives them a very realistic look. I could put some pictures if you need.
