Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. This ban does not impact any dolls by Dollshe ordered by November 8, 2023. Any dolls ordered after November 8, 2023, regardless of the date the sculpt was released, are banned from this forum as are any dolls released under his new or future companies including but not limited to Club Coco BJD.     1. That's a very good point. The previous boys weren't available without the outfits etc, only the mobility part and the makeup were optional- hence all the splits. Hmmm okay I'm sold hehe

    2. I think people are having the dilemma that they do not want to buy him as a basic right now, and he is limited by time. If he were truly out as a "basic edition" he would always be for sale and people could save up for him better.

    3. Basic means a doll stripped of all extras. Nothing special, only the 'basic' doll. Hence the name basic. I don't think it matters if he is limited by time, number, etc. He is a basic/limited doll. Something tells me that they will not re-release him in this skin-tone again. I know that Aaron was sold out for god-only-knows how long before they decided to re-release him again, and then, it was only because they were releasing Kamau, and so they sent them out to be cast together, to reduce cost. (That is taken directly from what Iplehouse told me on the Q&A). Not to mention, Kamau is a limited character doll. But, he is still available as basic, without all the shoots and ladders, etc. So, there is a basic version, and a fullset version. Being in or out of stock because of availability or whatever, has nothing to do with the doll being a basic. If that were the case, then half the Luts/CP dolls would be classified as limiteds, because alot of them are no longer available, simply because the company stopped making them.

      The doll being in basic form is simply for those who cannot afford to pay for him in the fullset version. I think this is awesome that Iplehouse even DID this, because if they did Kamau, the same way they did Akando, Luo, etc, then it would be monthes before we'd even see him as a basic. This way, everyone who wants to get him can try to do so now, until the 22nd. I think it is very kind of them to do this for this specific doll, so that everyone can try to get one, not just the people who have 1200 dollars.

      I also think that most who were dead-serious about him started putting money aside when they first heard about him, just so that when he did become available, they could consider getting him. That's what i, and a few other's i've talked to did.

    4. Word to all that -- someone needs to try telling Iman she doesn't look very African either! :lol: Kamau looks particularly Somali or Ethiopian to me, with his sharp nose and long, narrow face. And he's utterly gorgeous, but that goes without saying. I'm trying soooo hard to resist, but I have this sinking feeling it's only a matter of time...I'm already contemplating names.

Oh, it's even worse than it sounds -- as soon as I saw the full pictures I immediately knew just what his given name *had* to be, I'm just waffling over the perfect epithet or byname to go along with it. At this rate I think I just have to admit I'm utterly defeated already, and only waiting an extra week or two to hit the button just in case they add a few more E.I.D. outfits to their inventory... :doh

    9. I have to admit though, it seems like there are going to be tons of Kamau's running around with White wigs on LOL What is with everyone and Kamau in a white wig??? LOL

      I think i'm glad to be the one person who seems set on making him very urban...I'm going very 'thuggish" with mine. Gorgeous black braided cornrows, a sexy white tank, baggy jeans that hang low, showing his undies, basketball/running shoes, and soft, sexy brown eyes, and alot of black-ink tatts, possibly one arched across his smexy abs :)
      :)

      I am interested to see how different everyone's white-haired Kamau's are going to be lol

    11. I find it funny that you guys were wondering what he'd look like with a long silver wig.

      And today they release more EID wigs, and of ALL WIGS, they put Kamau in the long silver wig. XP He's just as lovely as you projected!
