Iplehouse EID Kamau - Sword Dance

I need to see the face. I have to admit I was hoping for a more African look than he seems to have so far.

 

I was expecting a more African look as well -- but I'm betting they will want to do a release of him in WS and NS and possibly the 'standard' realskin, which might be harder if they went further in that direction. I'm with some of the others; I see more of a darker Middle Eastern look here than African. I'm happy with either, really. That's one gorgeous face. I'm loving what I can see of the eyes.

 

Oh my lord, he is magnificent, and I havent even seen actual photos yet.... I so wish I could afford him right now. I would drop my money so fast. *L* He is so..... elegant. And I'm sure he'll look beautiful in other skin tones, but man. It HAS to be that gorgeous rich black for me. Wow.

Well... I guess the wait begins for yet ANOTHER gorgeous man on the secondary market. *hunkers down, lights small campfire and waits impatiently for full photos*

 

I've found out something a little saddening:

It appears he will only be limited and may never be released as a basic at all.

 

Oh dear. Well, that tears it, I guess... time to stalk Iple again and pray they'll offer layaway on this lovely man.

*idly wonders how many people lingering in the wee hours of morning for the Akando release will be sitting up for this one, too*

 

I immediately saw Middle Eastern, but even more, I could throw a pitch black wig on him and he would be one of my anchor characters. I really may hate Iplehouse right now because they may have upset all my Chiron plans for the year...

But I think I have to have this one. He's astounding to me.

you know, i was going to ask the same thing, but then i thought, why would they say that he would be released as basic now. they want to sell as many LE versions as they can. it was originally thought that the other EID's would not be available as basic with the special skin either, but now they are, so there you go. just a thought.

 

Darn. I *really* want to see a face-front shot of this guy. *pace* *Pace* ... I've resisted so far even though they're gorgeous, but when I look at him I see Chad from Bleach. I have to see that he doesn't really look like Chad or I'm sunk. (do not need another character doll... do not need another character doll)...

 

I had the exact same thought They made him look wicked cool XD but I can't afford him ><;; I love his gear though

 

So how long on average between first preview and for sale? The Luo thread suggest as short as a couple days.

 

Iplehouse is evil! They're out to get all our monies!!! But he truly is beautiful I just want a full veiw of his face.

 

WAAA, Iplehouse just keeps making cuter and cuter EID's. I've been thinking about saving up for a Luo, and now this guy looks like he's going to be gorgeous. And his sword is *awesome*. I can't wait to see what the EID female looks like when they get around to releasing her, too.

 

He's really beautiful and such a fantastic color.

 

This sword man looks really sweet to me but I was ACTUALLY hoping for a more butcher, manly "African" look. Bigger and thicker nose bridge, rounder nose front, fuller lips.

I can control myself for the time being not too overwhelmed by the sneak peek!!!

I doubt if my interpertation on IH's answer is correct or not...

Just my thought at the momment:
"standard version" is probably meaning "basic version" in NS or WS. That is those in white shirt and light blue jeans.

It is similar to what IH have replied to me that LUO would not be released in "standard version". But in just a few weeks' time after their reply to me, they released a "special editon" Luo in realskin.

In my humble opinion that there is a possiblility of Kamau be released in Latiino skin, Dark skin, brown skin, real skin other than NS or WS in anytime in the furture....

 

I'm only saddened because I know I wont have ANY money for a possible downpayment until around may 12th. In which case I have a feeling while most IH limiteds dont go too quickly he will be flying from the shelves like hotcakes.

I'm not really a big fan of the beefy man bodies...they remind me of the 12 inch gijoes my brother used to collect...but that face is to DIE for. I'd fall just for that face even on mr beefy man body. I hope I can get him

 

They have talked about a 'model style' EID body -- so there's hope they will at least do a limited version of him eventually with that body as well?

 

Cliff, my interpretation of what Iple just said is;
that they won't be making him in Basic at all - Because his sculpt won't suit any other
skintone than their "Blackman skin".
"It might be difficult for dark blackman to be released as a basic version.
Because, the character of Kamau itself can be matched with blackman, best.
Then, basic version itself will not be available.

So, we can sell this with the limited version, only.

how about the problems of sanding and seams...since tan resin have a lot problems about these.

 

People don't tend to sand tanned dolls.
Since the resin tends to be much lighter underneath.
As said above, someones Cocori finger broke, and it was white inside...
