Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Iplehouse EID Model type - teaser posted

Oct 12, 2009

    1. It is pure speculation based on absolutely nothing, Hydra Kitten, but having seen how lean and pointy his lower face is, I would expect this chap to have small, narrow eyes. But then they might surprise me and give him the most anime-face of the lot with great big googly eyes!

My friend's NS Akando did look very pink when he first arrived earlier in the year, and has now mellowed nicely. I will see quite how pink the current NS is when my Jessica arrives on Monday.

    2. Oh god forbid on the googly eyes!:o

*lances at her lot* I appear to favor longer narrowish eyes 2 to 1 oh dear...

    3. I think my Lu-wen has enough gooogly eye-ness to fufill any quota there may be on people owning google-eyed dolls for a long time.

Still, the pink deffinatly mellows out? I was worried about just how flamingo-like it would be but I don't think I want to deal with the RS worries, made me worried just seeing everyone who owns a RS boy get worried.

P.s wonder if ordering the existing face-up options for Akando, Luo ect. will be possible with the new model body? I really like the Akando typeB makeup.

    4. I know my AoD, who is pink has mellowed nicely. He was pretty pink when he arrived here but it has softened to a lovely fleshy color. Since the basic problem with the real skin seems to be the red dye fading I suspect the pink resins are also subject to this tho with less ummmmm frightening results ;)

I have pics in my profile or PM...

    5. I like that he doesn't have the weird butt joints like the super hero body! I'm really liking the veins too!

    6. I am SO excited about this. I've just bought two Akando heads in NS (the Gentle and the Normal) for a set of twins. They're supposed to be muscular but not so beefy as the super hero body.

DEAR LORD, I SHOULD BE SAVING FOR A HOUSE OR SOMETHING!!!

I do hope they decide to sell just the bodies, and SOON!!

    7. Haha, I know the feeling!

    8. Haha yes, mellowing is much less frightening than going hulk, I agree. All the boys in your profile have very nice skintones, looks different to anything I currently own (It's a sea of cream whites, peachy*or just plain orange, lighting dependant* normal skins, with a hint of chocolate here).

I agree on the armour plated arse being done away with, to. Looked pretty odd in the rare moment the jeans where pulled down..or not so rare, depending on how often those knee joints lock up! :x

    9. I'm kinda praying someone puts a Prince Nuada head on this body in WS. I beg. Please. ONe good long photoshoot. I dun need to OWN it, I just wanna see it once.
This body is the perfect balance between the usual BJD scrawny/wiry guys and the Thundering Godly Beefness that is EID.

    10. oh the body though, yes still beefy, does look leaner :D And rawr, I like a bit of beef on my guy XD not too much or too little. lol This body type I can see the Evan head going on better. I might like to have this body type for another character but for now I'm layawaying a character that has the older "buffed" body type :D I like both really, since they look more realistic. Older being more body builder and the newer being more leaner. But still manly :D

    11. Anybody want to guess if this boy will be significantly lighter (and cheaper?) than the Super Hero Body? ^^

    12. Cheaper? Not a chance.

    13. Hey hey, the EID women are $70 cheaper. ^^ That's a pretty big gap compared to the YIDs, a mere $20 difference between genders.

    14. I have been in contact with Iple about my findings with the new UV RS resin, and we couldn't come to an agreement about whether it went green or yellow after exposure, but more importantly I did discuss the potential use of other types of resin, and suggested they try the stuff I use and see if it works any better for them.

I have had one sample of that stuff (which I think I forgot to put UV in) on the windowsill for about a year, and it has faded a little, but it's tolerable considering the amount of exposure it has had. I also have samples of more recent pourings that definitely does have UV additive in it, and they are unchanged, both the lighter and darker colours. The oldest sample is from July and has not changed at all.

I'm thinking that another reason the greening happened so fast is to do with some sort of thinner that has been put in the resin to make it easier to pour.. this is something that the manufacturer probably added, and you'll know if there is some in it or not when you start sanding... that unmistakable chemical pong of methylated spirits or something along those lines. I think those thinners also makes the resin less stable and less able to hold onto the pigment in the long run, and probably makes other resins (non-french) yellow a bit faster as well. This is just speculation for now, though.

As I mentioned in the Jessica thread (or it may have been the Akando thread) when sanding the UV resin, it smelled more like moth-balls, so obviously there is something in it that is intended to help with the greening problem, but for some reason is not the right thing for this application. The resin that I use does not have a thinner type smell when sanded, but by all means is also not a healthy option, and protecting should still be worn during sanding. But as I mentioned above, the loss of pigment seems to be much less of a problem, if at all.

We know Iple takes this problem seriously and wanted to look for a solution, so I believe they are working to test this stuff now rather than experiment with a range of other products, and hopefully they will give us an update in due course, and even more hopefully with some seriously good news for those who want non-greening RS dolls or replacements for their greened RS dolls.

    15. This is excellent news, Twigling. Do keep us updated with any progress reports you get.

    16. *Agrees with MadamMauMau* :)
Twigling, you say "darker colours" , are those tanned resins you're on about?
If so, you say they've not changed? Does the colour go all the way through and is sandable?

*Imagines having a Cocori I can put on display and not worry about her turning green:)*

    17. *iz confused* I thought the only ones turning green were the real skin dolls.. have I missed something?

    18. :? Iple said on their Cocori Sale Page that she shouldn't be left out in the sun incase it turns green. And I've seen a Lt Cocori that had turned greenish/more olive coloured because tje previous owner left her out on display.:sweat

      Ooops,gone a bit OT.
      Sorries:sweat

    19. Oh I see, I hadn't heard that.

Now then back to the Model body flail *flails*

    20. Yes, it's tanned resins. They have not changed in 3 months (some have been there a shorter time). The colour is right through (mixed in the resin before mixing the part A and B) and is sandable.

I am storing my Jessica on the table under a big coat at the moment, since head is out for faceup. Some light comes in through the drapes, and there are fluoro bulbs in the light fittings, so just to be safe....
