Yeah, My order was in but I hadn't paid yet so they're just gonna cancel my order and have me try it again.
However, I'm, still waiting to hear if they'd consider lettin Strongman arms be offered as an option, because I really would like them on this boy and I asked them but they did not seem to notice that part of my question...

Mine is already named, since he's a character from a story I've been fiddling with for years. His name is Davan and his outfits are decidedly historical-fantasy, heavy on the Egyptian, Mediterranean and Persian influence. I've already got a loose egyptian robe for him to lounge about in, and this red and gold ensemble I fitted on my other EID. (He looks utterly ridiculous in it or I'd post pics- heck, I might just do it to spite him, LOL.)

That outfit you posted looks so Urban-Tribal, it reminds me of Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere. *gasp* I have to make Davan do a De Carabas cosplay at some point. He has a lot more dignity than the Marquis but he'd look so good...

As far as names go. I do make a list of possible names I like, but I usually wait until I have the doll and can get a real feel for what his personality will be. At some point they tell me their names. I know that sounds weird but I've always done it that way.

 

I loved that photo when I found it and that is who my "Zion" was created from.

I usually don't have big back stories for my dolls, but this one has been on my mind for a while, then Taregan came along and I just might have to go for it.
Tyree will be my Cowboys American name. He is an Australian Aborigine who has imigrated to the US to escape being enslaved by an English man in his homeland. His Aborigine name is Burnum, which means great warrior. (a little Quigley Down Under / Silverado). I am just not sure if he is a good guy or a bad guy. I think he will let me know that whan he gets here.

 

The same photo I posted? It's pretty striking! It'll be just one of the looks I want to make for my guy, but it's a good start, I think, yeah?

I'm fairly similar. I'll think of a few names & see what happens when he gets here. My Limhwa Luna, I had a name chosen for her before she arrived. When she got here, I realised that her name was completely different from what I'd 'chosen'.

I have Iple's black leather pants from when I ordered Ismael. The hoodie I'll probably knit & create the accents w/scrap fabric. We'll see!

 

Yep, I just posted it a couple of days ago. I love the jawline and cheekbones.

 

OH I wish I were that talented!!! I hope you do it. I'd love to see that outfit recreated. I know some people have managed to make cloves like that for their EIDs. Me? I plan to get a few extra hands and just paint them. l don't know that I can get that accurate a cut and sewing job to make those gloves .
I am, however, working on his wig. I have a definite look that I want for his hair.

DW, what kinda wig are you making? I've got some handspun yarn I'm going to make into dreds for my Taregan.

 

I like the yarn that has a little silk mixed in, plus it has flecks of brown and gray. The color mix is great since no one has just one color hair. The silk gives it a nice texture. Now, what you can do to add to that is take a hair dryer on high and run it by the threads. I've taken the Monique Paris wig and down a braid/knotting effect on it. Dipped it in boiling water and again, used the hair dryer and gotten some great dred looks. Wish I still had it! I did it with a red wig.

I'll either give Taregan dreds or something else. I have a few ideas for him. My Kamau stayed bald. My Lt brown Kamau is getting a Caesar cut. I also considered the idea of Flocking Taregan.
There's a group somewhere on DoA, that actually uses Velcro. I wish I could find those guys. I saw a doll with it at a Volks Dolpa Party and it looked great! It's the fuzzy part of the Velcro.

 

Here is the Aaron I used to have that I used that technique on.

 

I want to find some kind of plush fabric that looks like that or can be modified in a way that looks like the fuzzy velcro thing. I like the look of it, but usually the look is accomplished by applying the velcro directly to his head, & I'd like it to be removable.

 

You can take it off, but you would need adhesive remover to remove the glue residue.

 

Oh! That's a good idea! I might do that, since I know it has the 'look' I want, & I'm pretty sure I've seen sheets of it that are big enough to just use like fabric once the adhesive comes off!

 

I definitely agree with the Anglerfish skull and crab claws,-good call, although I'm not sure how it fits with his "forest" theme....maybe the necklace was a gift from one of the water Elementals, unless it's a fossil he found on a spiritual quest...either way, I think it's cool if your into skulls with fangs but too creepy for my liking
