1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. @MB Lilac Thanks for showing them together. It's good to see the difference between the sculpts since they indeed could be siblings and both are so handsome.

@wendibraun Amy is so lovely as is her sweater.

    2. @MB Lilac Please tell me how you make your wigs !!

    3. Iโ€™d love to know too!

    4. They look a lot like brothers. And so handsome.

    5. Okay, you all talked me into it, and I finally put together my tutorials on hard cap wig making.
Today's Blog post has the links in it - Wig Tutorials

    6. wow, thanks for the wig tutorials @MB Lilac . I get so many good ideas from creative wig makers. :daisy

    7. Are your guys Peach Gold or Special Real? They both are quite handsome and I love the their tone. Martha, I do love your work.

    8. @MB Lilac Yay!! Thank you SO much for those tutorials! Super helpful!! I do hope you make one that shows how to do the part when you figure it out. Your wigs are stunning!!:chibi:love

    9. I'm glad you all think the tutorials might be helpful

@oriscany - They are both Special Real with factory faceups, although Baron seems to be a bit rosier, or maybe just blushed more?

@sleepxwalker - Right now my parts technique is still too iffy to share. I'm happy enough with the results so far, although there are always issues, so I'd expect a beginner to really have trouble with them.

    10. Thank you so much, Martha.
I got my FID Rex out of his box and was checking him out. He's one of the "early FID guys and is on what they now call the muscle body" and at that time I was able to get him with the beard.....maybe an obtion B?? (I checked my order history and I didn't pay extra for the faceup.) Anyhow, I love how Baron is like a brother, and am now thinking that I might get him.

      I love your wigs, too.
added: I read your tutorial, and it's great. Years ago I made a wig for Unoa that had the crochet cap and the wefts of mohair. Your method is so much better ...... not to mention looks much more realistic than the ones I made.

      Thank you so much again.

added: I just noticed how Oscar in the PG looks so much like Dante in DMC....Devil May Cry. I love that game/ character. I believe it was Christy who made a Dante a few years back and he was totally awesome. O dear, another doll to think about.

    11. I started a project journal for the customization of my and my bestie's FIDs. No photos yet, just lots of words, but there'll be plenty to look at once I get past the initial stages!

    12. oh, bite your tongue @oriscany - all that Dante talk. *fingers in ears, hands over eyes* :o

    13. There's so many gorgeous dolls in this thread! I'm going to be placing an order for a Rex soon to shell one of my favourite original characters. He's a Victorian-era captain in the British army (my non-historically accurate and fictionalized version of it, anyhow). The FID line is just perfect, in my opinion. A more manageable size without sacrificing on realism.

    14. Definitely my favourite way to do things too. 'Inspired by' historical periods is good enough, and FIDs are perfect for it.

    15. Exactly! I'm a historian at heart, but if I get too nitpicky about historical accuracy I find it takes a lot of the fun out of things. I save that for my research, and just play around with history when it comes to my doll(s) (I only own one doll at the moment but have a couple on the way)

    16. They are both very handsome and do look like brothers. I think Baron looks just a bit younger than Rex. Your wigs are terrific!

    17. @wendibraun Your Vera is lovely...she is one on my wishlist. I think she is one we need to see more of!

Aaliyah thinks we need to see more of her...ahem LOL!

    18. And all that we see is beautiful!

    19. Thanks! I agree, that Baron does look like Rex's younger brother.

Speaking of wigs, I finally put together my hard cap wig tutorials - Wig Tutorials
I'm still not confident enough about sharing my technique for a part, as in Rex and Baron's wigs, but the tutorial may still be helpful
