1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. Oh my goodness this is heartbreaking. I am so glad your kids have been there for you. Is there anything we all can do to help support you? I hope he will pull through this and make a complete recovery. Sending all good thoughts.

    4. Oh gosh, you must be so worried. God Bless you, your wonderful son and partner for helping to keep your mind and hands busy. Praying the doctors and nurses are guided to find and administer everything your sweetheart needs to get better. Thank you so much for creating these beautiful portraits that help occupy our minds during this time.

    5. @MB Lilac Your husband is in my prayers. I too hope he's better soon. It's not a good time to be ill in anyway. (As I recover from bronchitis and then a sinus infection...which gave me a headache and a fever for 14 extra days after the three weeks of bronchitis.) All my best to you and your husband.

    6. @luluna glad you are getting better. Our only hospital is full to capacity as well as the one an hour away. No time to get sick or injured. Stay safe everyone!

Photos of your FIDs are always a joy to look at, with all these fabulous details! :)

    8. @MB Lilac So sorry to read your husband is so ill. My thoughts and prayers are with him, you, and your family. So glad your younger son and his partner are there with you in person.
Your photo is stunning and so detailed, as always. I hope your FIDs make a speedy trip home.

    9. Thank you!:)
I've been ill for about a month now and are really tired of being ill. Our hospitals are only taking emergency cases and it is a stressful time to be sick, I can tell you. Especially having had a fever and a cough....at first it was hard to get actual symptoms...but I'm pretty sure I had bronchitis and then a sinus infection...combined with my asthma it was not fun.

@LaurieESW - Your Lawrence looks like a Celtic God....

While I'm here...to be more on topic...here's a shot of two of my FID men...who need to practice a little more social distancing! ;)

    11. I have a question to everyone.

What sort of precautions should be taken when receiving a package from another country that has covid-19? Thank you for any input.

    12. I was wondering that too, since I have two packages enroute. A lot of hands touch the packages as they make their way through the system.

    13. I'm at risk for several reasons and always have been anxious so I started weeks ago. I hear cardboard boxes are potentially viral for one day. So I either quarantine for a day (rarely can stand waiting) or spray the box with alcohol, especially taped areas. I often spray the inside plastic wrappers, especially closures where people have touched, then toss them. I hear 3 days for plastic. Frozen things stay viral much longer so having them in warm places is best. As for the dolls, even fast ems (which doesn't exist anymore) means no one has touched them since packing (5-14 days), so I don't do anything to them And would be afraid to wipe with something harsh anyway. Of course, I'm no expert and just try to do what makes sense to me. Unfortunately, domestic packages in the US are just as bad now if not worse for less travel time. I've actually started to feel more nervous about my packages that come through JFK. I also asked my letter carrier 2 weeks ago to sign for me and leave packages on my porch. I am here 99% of the time with a dog that alerts me so the packages never would get stolen.

    14. I was thinking to quarantine the package for a few days, use rubber gloves to handle it, disinfect the card board. Then when the doll is out, to disinfect it with alcohol ( not the face ). Should that work?

    15. I don't know about the doll, but chances are after the trip, the doll is safe as is.

    16. @sisen - Thank you for the kind thoughts! Today was the first day I went without taking Tylenol for over half the day.

And as for packages...I've let my mail sit...for a day or two...before I open it...in hopes that if there was any virus on it...the time would kill it or at least lessen its potency. I would think the doll itself would be safe by the time it is delivered...but you could always use some gloves to open it at first, I guess.

    17. @luluna good to hear that you are feeling better now.

I think all the precautions you can take with incoming packages is a good idea. Letting it sit for a few days is the practice I take, plus wiping it down, or Lysol spray. (I have two Volks Nier Automata, which I ordered over a year ago yet to be shipped.) I plan to quarantine those packages.

Added: I love your guys luluna. You have some of the best photos of guys...... which lead to my downfall in the BJD Kingdom...../sigh
      :love

    18. They are so handsome! I hope you feel better soon. It is a tough time to be ill.

Here is a link to a health site to give some answers to the package handling questions.
I will cut and paste some but would probably be best to read the entire article - Can You Get Coronavirus From Packages and Mail? - COVID-19, Featured, Health Topics - Hackensack Meridian Health

“According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), the risks of transmission of coronavirus from a package is very low, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible,” “Even if your delivery person or mail carrier isn’t experiencing symptoms, they still may be carrying the virus and unknowingly spreading bacteria,” Dr. Frank adds. “If you’re touching items that someone else has recently handled, be aware of possible contamination and take preventative measures to protect yourself and your family.”

Follow these steps to safely manage packages and mail upon drop-off:

      1. Avoid direct contact with the delivery person
      2. Leave the package outside for a few hours and/or spray it with aerosol disinfectant before handling
      3. Dispose of all outer packaging immediately
      4. Wash your hands thoroughly for 20 seconds or more
      5. Disinfect any high-touch surfaces you had contact with after handling
      6. Avoid touching your face, including your mouth, eyes, and nose
In addition to survivability on cardboard, the study also found that COVID-19 is detectable on the following for an extended period, but this may vary under different conditions such as temperature or humidity of the environment:

      • Air: 3 hours
      • Copper: 4 hours
      • Stainless steel: 2-3 days
      • Plastic: 3 days
