1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    12. Where do people get their JID girl clothing, there's almost nothing on the IH site and they are nonstandard for 1/4 dolls. Also, does anyone find it easier to get clothing for new girl vs. original?

    13. I bought some knit shirts from guppykisses on etsy that fit the old body well. She doesn't have much listed for JID. However, I messaged her about some of the shirts that were listed as MNF, and since she has a JID, she could make them in the right size. I purchased some yesterday from BlackCarouselBJD on etsy as well, but it can be a challenge to catch her shop open. I haven't tried it myself, but I've read that some of the clothes on Alice's Collections can be order to fit your doll. When you are on their home page, there is a graphic that says custom size outfits that has info on it.

Other than that, I have no idea, and I would love to find some places!!

    14. She is beautiful! She looks so sweet and innocent ^^

    15. Ok need some advice. I think I have decided on a JID Violet. I like her mature look for my character idea and the size is what I am looking for. Are there any issues you can think of that might come up with the JID girl? I'm open also to FID, ResinSoul and even MiniFee and SD Midi, but a combination of what is available to order now and the proportions/maturity I am looking for make Violet look right. My only concern is getting clothing but I think, correct me if I'm wrong, the most important part is getting the look of doll that I'd like and building from there. How likely is it Iplehouse will abandon JID in favor of FID, since FID has so many more face sculpts and is newer? I might not like to have something that becomes a marginal type of doll as far as getting clothing but that is not a top consideration.

In addition to other minis I have considered 1/3 size dolls. It seems like the 40 cm size fits more with my parameters as far as where to display her, ease of transport, etc., but if anyone has opinions about that please let me know.

Any feedback is helpful. This is an important decision for me.

    16. Yes, you definitely should start with a doll sculpt you love, and as far as 'mature' goes, I'd say Violet and Isar are the most mature-looking of the JIDs.

      Things to consider - in no particular order;
      - I don't think IH will abandon the JID size. They just introduced a new, younger looking JID body, which is pretty much a larger version of their KID body. If anything, I think they might go in a younger direction, instead of adding some new mature sculpts (like I've been hoping for forever)
      - yes there are way more FID sculpts, but that's because they've been shrinking their larger dolls. FIDs are just smaller versions of the bigger sculpts, whereas JID sculpts are unique to their size.
      - The current JID lady bodies are strung in a frustrating way, with the legs tied to each other, instead of the elastic going right up through the body to the head - like every other BJD. But that's an easy enough fix if it bugs you. I've had all my JID girls drilled so they could be strung better.
      - The smaller sized dolls - JID and FID - are definitely easier to take along for photo shoots.
      - The choice between FID and JID is one of personal aesthetics. Do you prefer a more 'doll- proportioned' character, with a bit bigger proportioned head (JID), or do you want a more realistic proportioned 'fashion' character with very long legs (FID). I personally love the JID aesthetic, and prefer the JIDs for my photo stories, and my FIDs for one-off fashion shots.
      - as far as clothing goes, I can't really say, since I make all my own. Iplehouse does not offer much at all, and JIDs are harder to find clothes that fit, since they are 'chunkier' than the standard MSD. I'm not sure if FIDs can wear Raccoon doll outfits or not. You'd have to check the 'What fits..." threads. However, if you can sew, then it won't be an issue either way.
      - I wouldn't worry about being stuck with a stand-alone doll. You can always combine your Violet with dolls from other companies. I do it all the time. My Kassia has a Limhwa boyfriend, and my Kyle has a Narae.

      Hope this helps.

    17. First off, let me say I love my JID girl. I have Violet and Cordelia in normal and real, both colors look beautiful in person. I love the way the adult shaped body looks, love Iplehouse's resin, and have been very pleased with the face ups I got from them.

Iplehouse has told people here repeatedly they are not getting rid of the JID in favor of the FID, but until recently, I felt like it was a toss up. Based on the fact they finally released two new JID dolls, I think the line will continue for awhile. The new girl was on a new, more immature body, though, so between that and the lack of clothing for the mature body in recent months, it's hard to say if they are going to regularly release clothing for that body. I don't feel great about that, but that is just me. It can be kind of hard to find clothes for them. I know I've found a few people on etsy who make clothes, and some of the people here have done commissions.

As for the important part, it really depends on the person. For me, I'd rather have the doll (sculpt & body) I want and worry about clothes later. Some people aren't happy if they can't find a wide variety of clothing. Some people emphasize an extremely poseable body over face sculpt. I think basically you just have to decide what is most important to you and work from there,One thing you might want to consider is if you are going to want more dolls to go with this one. The FIDs all have a pretty mature look like Violet, but the JIDs often look younger. That can be changed some with face up and styling, but it doesn't hurt to consider it. I think basically you just have to decide what is most important to you and work from there.

Anyhoo, hope I didn't make it worse and at least somewhat addressed your questions, lol!!

    18. What are some good doll stands for a JID girl, or type of stand if not a specific recommendation. Thanks.

    19. I use saddle stands for my kids while they're resting on the shelf.
When they're in front of the camera they stand on their own.
