1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. IpleHouse JiD Mini Discussion Part 19

Nov 26, 2017

    1. Yes. I noticed that the green tinge didn't show up in pictures and thought that was odd. Still think it's odd, but I'll take it.

    2. It wasn't just the real skin either. I have an old (like, very old) white skin Tania and she also have a hint of green in certain lights. I've also noticed that is doesn't show up much in pictures and her rather yellowed colour even looks a fair bit more natural than it ever does in real life.
I put it under a spoiler, since it's NSFW

    3. Oh, she's beautiful! I would not have thought she was white skin. It's funny how these dolls photograph.

    4. Thanks! She was my second BJD ever and I bought her second hand. She was already yellowed quite a bit then and she realy hasn't changed that much since. I bought a NS JID Boris new several years later and right from the start she was actually a shade darker than him, albeit a lot more on the yellow side. He then went on to actually fade a bit and is still a very pale doll, many years later.

    6. That is very generous of Owen! Great picture!

    7. @MB Lilac Owen makes a great job! :)

I'm finally gathered the courage to make Henry a wig, I'll need to finish it but I'm quite exited and hope I'll be able to show more of him soon. (Henry is JID Owen).

    8. Thank you @nancy_schroeder_ca , @IngieBee , @xaya
I have two Owens, since he's the most mature looking of all the JID guys, and I find a handmade wig helps make them look even older. Owen and Steve (Owen #2) are both working on the road....[IMG]

    9. That's so cool @MB Lilac

I started a wig several times and failed to finish. I need to do a bunch of boy wigs, but I get a mental block and fear sets in which is stupid, LOL

    10. I also hate making wigs, so just force myself to start...and so far they've always turned out.

    11. My wig had way too high hairline in the front so I did my best to save it and glued more material to lower it. I still had to let it dry and hopefully I'll be able to finally style it tomorrow so that it will be OK and Henry will finally look like he is my doll and what I wanted him to look like. I'm going to buy another JID boy next year, this years dolls have basicly bought/decided.

    12. I just wish IH would release some more mature looking JID guys.

    13. @MB Lilac I definitely wish they would do that too, with jaws and great noses like Owen has. It would be great.

I finished the wig I was making for Henry, I'm quite pleased with it. He will need better shoes or boots so I can go out to photograph him.

    16. I've just redone the face up for my JID Boris, named Samuel.
Here he is together with Matilda, the previously mentioned Tania (really old JID with new hands).

    17. @MB Lilac Your photoshoots and stories are amazing, it was a pleasure to read once again. Your Owen is a great Archbishop.

@IngieBee Thank you, I'm very happy he finally has a wig. Now to play with the dolls more to learn his best poses and angles. I've mostly had those repetitive photos but hopefully I'll have a chance to do something with him today. :)

@Lillith Samuel and Matilda look fabulous together. <3

    18. @Lillith I really love those hands, I wish I could get some for my Tania but she's in the original real skin :( Ah well :)

Looking forward to updates, @xaya :D

    19. @xaya Thanks!

@IngieBee I have blushed these hands quite heavily to get them to match and even with that, in some light they look a bit different. The yellowed white of her body has an almost slightly translucensy to it while the hands are solid white. The match now is close enough that you usually don't notice the difference if it's not pointed out and I often put bracelets on her as well and that helps too, catching the eye before it starts to analyze the colours.
But I'm very happy I got the new hands. I never really liked the old ones, they never seemes to fit in with the rest of her.

The original real skin had a bit of translucensy too, right? It's not impossible that you could still get it to work if you could get the colour close enough. At least good enough to photos.
