1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

IpleHouse JiD Mini Discussion Part 19

Nov 26, 2017

    1. Hello everyone. Wow it's been awhile. I went inactive in this hobby for a very long time but never sold my dolls. I liked looking at them even if I never took them out for photos any more. I haven't signed into DoA in over 5 years but I miss it. I miss actually doing stuff with my dolls and interacting with others in the hobby. I don't expect anyone to remember me but just wanted to pop in to say hi. Here's an old picture of two of my JIDS, Alex, he's a Colin and Fedora, she's a Cordelia. I also just realized they both just turned 10 *_* Hopefully I can get some new pictures of them soon.

    2. Welcome back. Like you I could never sell any of my dolls. They are family.

    3. @Lillith and @EmanonUK Thank you for the welcome back!

Here's one of my other JIDs who I never posted much about pre-hiatus but she is actually a hybrid. She's a Tania head on a Resin Soul body. I got just her blank head in the auctions Iplehouse sometimes does. For anyone curious the resin match is fantastic but her head is a tad big for the body which makes posing her head a little challenging. She doesn't like to hold her head up as a result. But I love her on a less bulky body.

    4. Awwwww! Hello, Tania! Your Tania is so cute! Definitely a lot more mature than my Tanias, but still super cute :) I hope you're able to figure out something to help her body support her head. Maybe sueding or something.

    5. Thinking of taking someone out for some pictures on Sunday. Any requests? I got my Colin, Cordelia, Tania, two blank Boris', and a blank Leona. Obviously my unfinished dolls don't get out much but I'm happy to take pictures of them if someone wants to see them.

    6. I'd love to see your Boris dolls if it's no trouble. I really like the sculpt and rarely see them out in the wild.

    7. Is there anyone here who knows whether Iplehouse and Supiadoll have any compatible resin matches for their colors? I’m mostly interested in NS or one of the lighter tan colors but I’m not too picky

im considering getting a 1/4 girl, with an JID or FID head on a Supia minisup body, and while I realize their resins might never match 100%, it would be nice to find something that’s in the same ballpark so that it can be blushed to look similar. Would also greatly appreciate if somebody here have both an FID/JID doll and a Minisup and can show me pics of how well they fit together ❤️

    8. Ask and you shall receive. They majorly need bodywork done so I decided to just take some pictures on my balcony instead of hauling them to a park and then getting annoyed with how floppy they are, but this did remind me why I bought them in the first place. Also, yes, one is in a kilt. As we all know Iplehouse made the JIDs a weird size and then neglects them in the clothes department so I only own 1 pair of jeans and 1 pair of shorts and felt weird stealing Alex's shorts for this. :sweat. For those wondering the kilt is actually meant to go around a can but it fits them perfectly.

    9. I guess I'm a crazypants, but I've just bitten and placed an order for a JID Benny (original body style) and a JID Asa (new body style) - dark brown resin for Benny and normal for Asa (hovered between peach gold for her, but I didn't want her to be too pinkish). I know I like the original style body, but I'm excited to see what improvements have been made there. Also there are some lovely folks sewing gorgeous things for JID and FID (and I've found FID things to be largely interchangeable for the JID original body, just a little longer on the leg for trousers).

    12. I took my new Iplehouse JID Alice to the New York City doll meet yesterday. I've been feeling a bit iffy about her since getting her a couple weeks ago, but I think I'm warming up to her. I think light conditions heavily influence how she looks. I was holding her towards the end of the meet, and she was super adorable.

    13. @Gamma Ray She is a very sweet sculpt. A bit sad looking, perhaps, maybe that is what throws you off? I think this is one of those sculpts where eye brow placement does a lot for the expression, so perhaps try a wig with shorter bangs, so that her eye brows show? Or experiment with iris size and eye placement.
In any case, she is very pretty. I'm sure you can figure her out and make her work for you. :)

    14. Thank you, Lillith :)

Sad? Maybe. At home she looked kind of deadpan, I thought. I'm thinking maybe the light affects her a lot more than my other dolls. On the other side of what you were saying about her bangs, I had her wig positioned at the meet a bit more forward than it had been, and I think it was an improvement  I am partial to bangs in general :kitty2

    15. My new (to me) JID Kassia had her first outing yesterday! I took her to the Central NJ doll meet. My SID Eva is her mommy, though I'm only having a bit of noncanonical fun because Kassia hasn't been born yet. I love Kassia so much. I'm not sure about the fishnets, though. She came with them, but my Kassia's a little girl. I think I'm going to take them off.

    16. I took my Alice to the South NJ meet today. I learned something new about her! I didn't like her lack of range of motion in her head. I popped off her head cap, and I took a look to see what was up with the S-hook. I found that she has three slots for her S-hook! The only other doll I have that's like that is my nYID Olivia. Alice was made with the S-hook positioned all the way to the back. I tested it in the middle briefly and found her head to be better. I finally moved it to the front so she would have more range of motion to look upwards because she was spending time with her mommy today. It worked great! I'm very happy with this development :)

    17. It's great she has the three slots inside her head to adjust the range of motion. That makes such a difference, It's interesting that not all of their dolls do. I have a quite a few Iplehouse dolls, and some have the slots while others don't.

    18. It really does make a difference. I've used it to great effect with my nYID Olivia in the past. It also alleviates one of my concerns with JID Alice because the default position, which I thought was the only position, was really limiting.
