Iplehouse Noctarcarna Circus "EVAN" the Tamer

Dec 19, 2008

    1. Awakened Dreamer-
WOW....NEW photos of the hot guys together. Thanks for the link that provides a lot of pics for comparison between the two. I can really see the differences now. Interesting how they pictured Akando with pinkish/brown eyes while Evan has the blue eyes.
Personally, I:aheartbea love:aheartbea Evan's sculpt better with his cuter nose, chubbier face, almond shaped eyes and "duck" mouth.
His outfit is amazing, too. Detail, detail, detail. Let's face it: Iplehouse has done it again.
Unfortunately, my bank account isn't too thrilled about all of this:...(. Decisions....decisions......:? I think he will sell out in a few days, although there will probably be the cancellations here and there as time goes by.
      Meanwhile Happy Holidays all !:candycane:hollyberry:gingerbreadman:bellcookie:dreidel:goldstar

    2. Cracking up here . . I think I'm also Iple-whipped! Akando just arrived and is one of the most amazing BJDs I have ever seen . . the real skin tone is gorgeous, so close to natural tones. The engineering is super, especially on such a full bodied doll . . there is a realism about him that is so compelling. And it's twice as astounding in person.. resin? Did I mention how gorgeous he is? Iple has raised the bar. :starcookie The girls are all looking for the mistletoe to hold over his head!!

    3. Are Akando and Evan the same skin tone then?

And for those of you who have received their Special Real Skin Akandos, does that skin match any other company?

    4. These new pictures did it for me. I decided I can live with his nose since it doesn't come to a strong point. I just ordered him.

    5. Bunnydots, I can't answer on the skin tones being the same between Evan and Akando, but so far Akando doesn't match any of the BJDs here. It is close to Rainman's homme skin tone for his guys. There is a difference in the hues, however. Iple's being a little warmer and even more like our Caucasian light tones. And to the deeper shades, he is also close to Supias' tanned Rosy, she being slightly darker with a touch more ash to her. He is much lighter than the Limhwa tans. The only Volks here are normal skin tone, so can't help you with that. Need to go and get one of the Domuya's to see how close they are.. That being said . . colors can vary from batch to batch of resin. It is tough to say one companys' color will match in a future mix. It is one of the most realistic mixs and so lovely to see . .

Patrice . . YEA!!!! Oops .. he is exciting... Congrats on landing Evan for your resin family! I hope you love him as much as I do Akando!!

Last night I asked Iplehouse about the differences between the Akando and Evan and got the following reply directly from them (that answers your question about skin tone because I wondered, too):

      Hi,
Here are answers for your questions. ^^
      1) Compared to Akando, Evan's eye shape is a little raised up, and almond shape.
The tip of nose is round and the shape of nose is rather cute than Akando's one.
Lip shape can be shown as duck lip, because upper lip comes out more.

Also, cheeks of face are a little chubbier, and manufactured to look younger than Akando. ^^

      2) Evan will be offered as real skin color, which is the same as Akando's one.

      3) The make-up style is different. But the make-up artist is the same person, so it can be looked similar.

Noctarcana is very mysterious circus. So, we ask you to please keep looking forward to seeing future dolls, continuously. ^^
For sure, unexpected dolls will make all customers surprised. ^^

Thank you very much and Merry Christmas.~~

It makes one wonder how big this "mysterious" Noctarcana circus is going to get?

I have admit it's a great concept by Iplehouse, though:thumbup.....

    7. Thank you Sherry and Vita Luna. I was sort of hoping one of these tans would match Volks Tan or Migi Tan or something...darn. :(

    8. Hmmm . . doesn't JennyNem have a tan Volks? Or am I mixing her dolls up with someone else's? Surely there is someone with the Akando Pierrot that has a tan Volks or Migi? . . Perhaps as they keep showing up, someone will have photos to share of these two!

    9. Ahhh! I wasn't to excited about him at first, but now... I'm totally in love! That skin is gorgeous... I'm on a wallet-induced dolly diet, otherwise I'd snatch him up in a heart-beat!

Well, here's to hoping for a basic version sometime down the line... He'll make a wonderful daddy for my little boy. :aheartbea

    10. I love the outfits,but I think Akando is better,I love Akando so much```

    11. Before i was gonna order Akando than i saw Evan :sweat...

than immediately i change my mind lol
so now i ordered him too.
I think he much cuter just my type

but' too bad he eat up of half of my saving lol:sweat

    12. Congrats Patrice! I know how much you were looking forward to the EID body and how disappointed you were with the original release pics. I'm glad the new pictures helped clarify your decision and he still makes your heart sing!

    13. He does make my heart sing and I'm very happy now that I've ordered him.

    14. There are now 6 Evans left in stock.

Whoever first dreamed up the big boys deserves much praise from the rest of the company!

I like him, but I think I prefer Akando's overall look. We'll see how I feel about it when basic Evan comes out.

    15. It's funny while I loved the EID body and liked Akando, Evan was the one to pull me in. I think it's the intensity of his eyes. His outfit was even perfect for my character, Vidar, the son of a Norse giantess. So my resolution not to be a tan doll that I couldn't sand the seams on went right out the window.

    16. Out of curiosity, how long did it take Akando to sell out?

Also I saw someone mention Evan's 'story'; where is that on the Iplehouse site? I've been trying to find it but I'm kind of lost. XD'

    17. Do the seam really bother you that much? Iplehouse does such a wonderful job on it's dolls; the seams are there I can see them and feel them but they are smooth to the touch, not sharp like some other doll companies.

It took like two days for the first set to sell out than they added 20 more - those took a little longer.

Looks like they took Evan's story down when he went up for sale. They should have it up on the "Noctarcana Circus" page soon.

    18. I do dislike seams enough that it has put me off of tan dolls. One of the first things that I do when I get a new doll is to sand the seams. But there's always an exception to the rule and Evan is that. I am really looking forward to seeing that IP's real resin color since it does look beautiful in pictures

    19. I love Akando, but Evan is definitely a sweetheart. In my perfect world, I would be able to afford them both and Evan would be his younger brother.
