Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Is there a typo in the official Loongsoul doll 75cm male body measurement chart?

Jul 29, 2024

    1. Good morning:
I'm Lizzy, I've been in the hobby for a short time and I have a question about the 75cm Loongsoul doll body.

My question is the following: I've read in the measurement tables that the Loongsoul doll B-b75 body measures 75cm with the head, that it measures 70.6cm without the head, and that the head circumference measures about 23cm.

Since the 73cm body's measurements are 73cm with the head, 66.7cm without the head and about 21cm head circumference, I understand that there is an error in the data: the 75cm body should measure about 68cm without the head, isn't that right? Because a head with a diameter of 23 cm cannot add only 4.4 cm to the total height of the doll when the one with a diameter of 21 cm adds 6.3 cm to the height, right?

    2. It's not rare for company measurements to be a bit incorrect :sweat You'll also have to take into account that the head isn't a perfect ball that sits on top of the neck, and that the neck will also go into the head somewhat. The circumference is noted for wig size and isn't very helpful in determining the head's height.

    3. Yeah, I wouldn't use the circumference of the head as a good indicator of the true measurement size, but instead if you find the length of the head (ie, how tall the head is) that's what I'd use. Sometimes the heads might be the same diameter but uhhh.....squished??? i guess proportionately, depending on what heads are "recommended" by the company to go with it, or what they initially measured, etc....

Usually I find that the measurements are ~.5-1cm off, or potentially even up to 3 or so, since measuring depends on if they used a tape measure or a ruler or whatever, and I personally never seem to get their same measurements when I remeasure things for sewing :XD: but it's a good estimate. the 75cm will def be taller than the 73, and sometimes that (alleged) 2cm makes all the difference!
