1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Is there a unsaid rule about beginners and dolls?

Dec 29, 2012

    1. It's hard not to get overwhelmed by the amount of beautiful dolls in this hobby. If I had it my way, I would've already bought at least 20 by now, most being in the first month I ever knew about dolls. I don't think that that makes you a snob or 'rich girl', it makes you normal. A person has the freedom to do with their money as they please and its not right for anyone to say otherwise. We all have our own pace and way to collect, some people only get one every few years, and some get a couple a month. It's a hobby, and we're allowed to enjoy it as we see fit.

    2. Doll owners don't really label each other, as we're usually the ones getting labeled by everyone else. ("Creeper," "weirdo," "friendless," "pervert.") My third and fourth dolls were a fullset and an event freebie that I fell in love with randomly. That's normal. And the hobby is populated by doll owners of all incomes. Some pay for their dolls little by little, and some can afford to buy all at once. If you can, more power to you.
