1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. We have a rider on our insurance policy. They and my other collectibles are insured for full replacement value. I do need to update it though, since more BJDs have come to live here.

    2. I was thinking about doing that,

Wonder how that would blow over with my parents lol

    3. My parents actually got Anathema insured a few years ago when I went to Chicago for school. I should probably get my new boy insured....he costs considerably more >_>;;

    4. I have not but I am seriously concidering talking to our agent. We now have five full dolls and a floater, and everyone but one is limited.... and I might be getting another here soon. ::crosses fingers as wallet cringes::

    5. I also don't have an insurance for my boys but since my family keeps growing, I'm seriously thinking of talking to my mom so we can go to our insurance company to check it out.
By the way, do they insure them easily? Have you had any kinds of problems? I'm just curious since I have no idea about insuring items separately. :daisy

    6. Same with me~ I just went to the guy that takes care of my family's insurance matters and asked and it's all taken care of. No money or anything needed to be paid, though I do hold onto all receipts so if something does happen I can prove value.

    7. How do you insure your doll? I mean as they are worth so much It makes sense to insure them in some way.

I did search for this but I got nothing. So would it come under house insurance? Or is there a special collectors insurance.

Why am I so obessed with insuring him. Well... when I move out into a flat with my lover. I will be in student accomandation. And I know that ALOT of people get broken into.

In fact does anyone know anyways I can keep him safe? and Hide him away before I leave the house. I would like Insurance not because if he did get stollen I could buy a new Theo but I could by a new doll of a different type. After finally getting over losing him. Which I am desparetly trying to avoid happening. Hay! you know what they can take my computer... as long as they leave Theo alone :|

    8. Are you going to be renting the flat? Or is it school sponsored housing?

If you're renting the flat, you might want to look into what they call "Renter's Insurance" It's similar to house insurance, but for people that rent. I'm not totally sure how it works, or what companies cover it, but I'd look into it if you're going to be renting a flat.

    9. Keep in mind that Renter's insurance usually only covers break and enter, if someone you're flatting with steals the doll or a visitor takes it, you probably won't be covered. You may want to look into how you store your dolls. The best policy is not to advertise how much they cost. A normal thief you'd hope won't know the value of them to steal them.

    10. I didn't know that! Welp, there goes my idea. :sweat

Thanks for educating me too! Hehe.

    11. There is a special type of insurance you can get, a lot of people talk about it on this thread (a moderator will probably combine this thread with that one):

      http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130511

Sorry I can't give you any more information myself, but I don't have a doll of my own yet and I don't live in America, so things are probably different there! As for leaving a doll in student accomodation, your room should have a lock, right? If it doesn't maybe you're allowed to add one. And if you have a flatmate you don't trust, maybe invest in some kind of safe. Although really I wouldn't be too worried, the average robber isn't going to recognise the value of these dolls. They're much more likely to go for jewellery or something than what they would see as a "toy". The best way to go is good security! Then everything you own will be safe, not just your doll!

    12. My insurance agent has told me that I need to "schedule" my collection on our homeowners insurance. It's basically just stating this specific, vauable thing that might otherwise be questioned if we were to need to file an insurance claim. I keep a spreadsheet of my dolls, all accessories, and replacement value that I keep updated so that I will have something to go back to should anything happen. My agent has told me that something like that is what the insurance adjusters will want to see. I believe there is a similar option for renters insurance. I'd check with an agent to see what they think you should do. Good luck!

    13. This is true. I will be renting and it will be with my partner ONLY who I live with. Who A. has no interest in the dolls and B. would not sell or steal out of spite.

So it's more of A if someone broke and I guess it would be rented so I'd need rent insurance.

    14. See I am in the Uk so I think the whole insurance thing is totally different anyway,

    15. I'd never even thought of this before! Although it is a very good idea and I think it makes a lot of sense. Anything valuable that you own should be insured, especially something that you invest so much time and effort in!

    16. I do not have a bjd yet, and none of my other dolls are valuable enough to insure. I should probably call though, as the aggregate value of the entire collection may be enough to require a specific rider.

    17. this is a good point...I allready thought about what would happen if there will be fire in my house.
I dont mind losing my pc or tv but I would get pretty upset if I lost my dolls in something like that...

maby I should get serious info about this...

    18. There are so many things at our house that are worth more than the dolls are not insured. Insuring them never came across my mind.

    19. No, but they should be. ^_^'' As a simple minded kid I'm not in on our insurance plans, so I need to talk to my parents about getting them insured. I'm sure they'll agree becayse they paid for most/all of the dolls. <3'

    20. technically, mine is under home insurance (we have some special version because we have alot of lab equipment stored and used in the house and in the workshop and barns) but i don't know if it ever came to it whether they'd pay up, because trying to explain to them what it was and how much it cost seemed to scramble their minds...
