1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

It's my dolly and I need it NOW! (questions about waiting for a doll to arrive)

Apr 23, 2011

    1. Wait time has no influence on me at all, because I'm super picky about sculpts... and of course, I have other dollies to distract me in the meantime. :) I guess it would be a little different if it was a 'first doll', but I can't really comment, considering I got my first doll via next day pick-up. 8'D Since then, I've been happy to wait for my dolls. The only time wait time will have some impact on my doll choice would be situations like CustomHouse. =3= In which case, no thanks, I'll try my luck on the marketplace. =3=

    2. Wait times don't tend to influence me much, however I do get annoyed when wait times go beyond the expected period. Waiting 5+ months for a blanks doll and two heads is by no means fun, especially when you were told 1-2 months originally. I am usually a relatively patient individual, but instances like that tend to really work my last nerves.

    3. I'm not terribly bothered by wait times. I've waited 2 years for one of my dream dolls (or any kind of doll) before, I can wait through the length of time it would take to make my doll. Granted, I get impatient and excited about my doll coming in, but it doesn't do anything for my love of the doll.

    4. While I would love there to be less of a wait time, I don't mind it much. Sometimes, it's even a little fun. The wait time is the time I have to scour the internet, searching for the PERFECT wig, the right faceup (and artist), the right eyes. This all works best if it's a company that I've ordered from before, because I already have a good idea of the company's reliability, as well as the right sizes for wigs and eyes and clothes. I guess, for me, it's kind of like pregnancy!
