1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Let's talk about mature faces

May 23, 2015

    1. I feel like smaller eyes and longer faces (rather than round) stand out to me as more mature.

    2. I feel similarly to @Kiyakotari in that it's not so much about maturity as it is about realism, however...
it does seem to have reached a point where some sculpts are a little too realistic so that they seem more like action figures than dolls (as others have mentioned) or even more like statuary. It's the Goldilocks syndrome of finding that sculpt and face-up that are just right.

As far as features, I do prefer larger noses, smaller eyes, interesting face contours and lips that don't look as if they've been subject to a medical procedure--all of which would probably indicate a more mature look.

I wasn't interested in Yo-SD-size child dolls at all until fairly recently and have since collected a few. I'm a particular fan of Haru Casting's kids who are designed after his own children.

    3. I think my main issue with dolls for me is about the proportions. I find most dolls even "realistic" ones tend to have anime proportions especially in the head to shoulder ratio. I'm looking mostly for msd girls so it's pretty tough.

    4. I tend to prefer the more "manly-men" (by western standards) so prominent nose, small eyes, strong chin and jawline though they're really hard to find (and I admit I'm picky about it) and I want a smaller head to wider shoulders (more realistic). I do like some more feminine male dolls that are more realistic like my avatar but I really don't like most of the anime influenced dolls like the op mentioned with the very pointy chins and noses, overly large eyes, weak chin/jaw and so on.
