Limhwa Limho 44.5cm Discussion Part 1

Hinotori I actually never had problems with posing my Mono o_O you might need to make sure that those little nubs on top of his leg lock to the to the lower torso part to make him sit upright (I have a pic here - left leg is how it looks and right one how it looks locked) and then those dolls pose like a rock.

Sapphire Mono's feets are indeed quite small in comparison to other dolls of the same size. Also all my jealousy that you can sew!

 

Hinotori: the worst problem I've had is having mine constantly slump to one side, which may have just been a product of twisted stringing.

I should string Salem back together for a while, even if he is blank... I kind of miss having him around.

 

Thanks again! Yes, I thought they would be quite small. My Ringdoll and ResinSoul boys also have small feet (5.5cm) so with any luck, Beau will be able to share their shoes when he gets tired of wearing his cowboy boots. Sewing is not too hard, once you get into it. I'm not a professional, but it's like anything; the more you practice, the better you become at it. Sewing for dolls is harder than sewing for people, simply because of the size/scale, but it's still fun.

lol I keep stalking Canada Post. Beau cleared customs this morning, so he should be here Tuesday, with any luck. I'm stupidly excited, like a kid at Christmas. I've been excited for other dolls, but I am particularly excited for this one. At the rate he's travelling, though, it looks like he's going to get here ahead of his wig and eyes. I got him the Eyeco Soft Glass eyes. Some friends in the RS/BBB discussion recommended them, and this is the first pair I've ordered for any of my dolls. Has anyone else used the Eyeco Soft Glass?

Beau is here!!! He's absolutely gorgeous, and I'm very pleased with him. He got here ahead of most of his stuff, though, so he hasn't got his proper wig or eyes yet. His boots showed up today, though. His feet are small enough that he can wear shoes meant for Matt O'Neill dolls.

Has anyone sanded the seams on their Mono? I know Limhwa recommends not sanding them because of potential colour changes in the resin, but some of Beau's seams are really horrible and I'd like to fix them up. Also, his hands...omg. The sculpting on the rest of him is beautiful, but I'm a little horrified by the shape/sculpting of his hands, particularly the left hand. His nails are more pointy than some of my girls' nails. O.o.

 

Hi there I was wondering if anyone with a Mono could help me out with some head measurements please? I'm just wondering if you can tell me the measurements around the head in cm and then from ear to ear across the top of the head in cm please? Thanks so much!

You can sand NS perfectly fine. I had a Mono back in '07 - I sanded down his fingernails...and his nips (a bit too large for me, lol). there was also a small miscast type of bubble/mole on the back of mine that I also sanded down as well.

I'm looking to buy a Limho Mono soon. I feel so silly for selling my old boy. I miss him so much.

 

My Mono also has some seriiiious seamlines but he's tan so I'm probably stuck with them. While I'm okay with doing light modifications on my other dolls, Stormy is off limits.
I really need to get more new pictures but I've been waiting to get done with my other (offtopic for this thread; DC Hugh) boy's face-up so I can get them together. My inspiration is so low these days, it just doesn't want to get anything done. It's crazy to think that this is Stormy's second March with me and that he's been here a year and four months!

 

Thank you! That is great to know. As soon as the weather warms up and I can get outside (and steal some proper respiratory protection from my dad's equipment), little Beau is going to have some cosmetic surgery on those seams of his. I might do his fingernails, too.

Thank you! I'm still waiting for all his stuff to arrive (including his proper clothes lol). I'm hoping his wig will be here tomorrow. The one he's wearing right now is kind of growing on me, though. It reminds me of an early 1980s hairstyle.

The wig I'm waiting for is a Monique "Melissa" in light golden brown. I'm also waiting for my eye order from Safrin. Beau's eyes are going to be Eyeco Soft Glass 11mm in "Starlit Blue". I am really hoping they arrive before the Easter long weekend & keeping my fingers crossed for Monday or Tuesday. I know his stuff from Alice's Collections probably won't be here by then, as it shipped on 19th March, but we can wait. lol

 

Oooh, I forgot about the long holiday! I hope your stuff comes in soon. My boy's wig and pants came in today, and his shirt should be in tomorrow. He's still gonna be shoeless for a while (unless he wants to wear my girl's heels, lol!).

 

What kind of wig did you get for him?
The only thing Beau has right now are his cowboy boots. Everything else is temporary, including the clothes he "borrowed" from my other boys. lol Beau's wig cleared customs today, so it will probably be here on Monday. Not sure where my Safrin order is, because Canada Post tracking seems to have lost track of it.

 

Not sure of the brand, I think it's a Sunny's world brown/blond fur wig.

(Hehehe imagines your boy naked in cowboy boots wondering where his clothes are!) Good thing you have backups!

The pants I got are Dollheart MSD boy pants, would anyone know if they are long enough? (I hope they fit!)

 

hmm...I'm going to have to look up Sunny's World. I keep hearing about their stuff and I'm not sure I've ever visited their site. lol

haha... imagining poor little Beau standing around nekkid in his cowboy boots was an image that made me LOL! Lucky for him, he's got a number of roommates who are his size, so even if what he's wearing isn't exactly his style, at least it's something. At the moment, he's wearing jeans from Pink Fantasy, which are the perfect length in the leg for him.
