Little Wins [and BIG ones]

Congrats on the excitement, big and small!!

I think my most recent would be that my Dollmore Zaoll Luv arrives here less than a month after ordering her. I knew she was coming with a free wig and eyes and had requested specific ones if that was ok, and let them know it was totally fine if I wasn't allowed to choose. But when I opened her, I found they not only gave me the wig and eyes I asked for, but also another gorgeous wig, a pair of panties and a wig cap too! And it just so happened that the majority of clothes, eyes, and shoes I ordered for her all came in within a week of her arriving, so she didn't have to sit eyeless and undressed for long!

 

In the hunt for things carefully put away... I have a pretty antique china tea set for my dolls. I wanted to put it out this winter but couldn't think where I'd stashed it away. Finally recalled I had packed it up two winters ago when my daughter's cats were coming to visit... Which meant I would need to sort the cubbies in the closet. Got all the prop stuff in the closet reorganized (which is a win). But no box of china. :/ Noticed a fancy wooden box which needed to go in the props cubbie now that there was space. And, it was full of the china I was hunting for! ( Big win)
No new dolls. But finding & enjoying what I've already got is my resolution for this year. ;}

Congratulations on your new doll! My win for the week is that after looking at many, many dolls, I finally have a shortlist of which one I want to order.

Congratulations, that sounds like a really good day!
I don't have much to contribute except that I finally received a tracking number for one of my packages (accessories, doll stands and so on).

 

My big win is I finally was able to get the doll I've been dreaming of for 8 years (including a 9 month long wait). She's here, she's perfect, and I absolutely adore her. I never thought I'd be this lucky and I am so happy about it.

Even getting a tracking number for accessories is a win in my book!

 

I expected I'd have to wait close to two months for my doll from Doll Leaves to get to me from Alice's Collections with how inconsistent shipping is right now, but she got to me in just 10 days. And the Oscar Doll eyes I was hoping would fit her do.

 

Congrats on everyone's wins! Mine is that my Crobidoll Yeon-Ho is currently on his way to me, after a 2 month wait. He's in customs now, so hopefully I'll get him this week!

The win I want to share with all of you is that today my boy has arrived to the artist who is going to give him a new face-up and a new wig that fits his new character and I'm so excited to see the result!
It may seem like a small win for now, but the overall process it's a big win for me as this whole character-changing thing I have going on on him and his girlfriend means a lot emotionally.

 

This is such a great topic! It’s often overlooked, those little (and big) wins, but celebrating the victories, whatever size, is such a positivity boost!

Guess I’ll add mine here. I’ve been wanting a certain dress outfit for some time now, was way too expensive for me when it came out and I didn’t have the funds. I’ve been stalking some secondhand sites for a good one to come up, but whenever it did it was always way too much or went so fast I didn’t have a chance to put it in my cart. Well, I just so happened to see a good barely used one pop up, snagged it, and just paid for it so now I finally have the outfit! My heart was beating so quickly since they always get snatched up, but getting the payment email confirming it was mine was so very good.

 

I'm coming in with a pair of little wins of my own! I just love this thread! Reading everyone's wins, small or large, is putting a huge smile on my face!

Recently, I was finally able to purchase some doll clothes from my favourite seamstress of all time! She is super popular so everything sells out in seconds, and to top it off, her articles are quite expensive (for good measure, THEY ARE WONDERFUL). Never before did I have the financial wiggle room to actually participate in one of her sales on such short notice and more importantly I got both outfits I wanted!

On the other hand, I was after a very unique limited head that was only available for a precious seven days, with the preorder ending on the 10th of this month. I faffed a little about making an unplanned purchase like this for a bit, but finally decided to go ahead and order him just last night! Today I woke up to an announcement that the artist would not be taking any more orders due to making a lot more sales than they anticipated! If I had delayed putting my order in until the morning I would have missed out! So I very narrowly escaped having to cry about me being indecisive all the time this once! Phew! I think that's a decently big win!

 

I have a couple. One of my biggest wins happened right here in the DoA secondhand marketplace. When Luts released their BabyDelf Daisy Elf as a limited years ago, I fell for her hard! But at that time my finances were already stretched thin with on-going layaways, and there was just no way I could pull it off. Of course they sold out quickly, and from that point on it seemed no one was interested in letting one go…at all! But I kept looking and looking. Years later one finally came up in tan skin and I was able to snag her!

Another win was Faryland finally releasing their teeny-tiny Realpukis again! Years ago I had adopted one, and I dearly loved her. I built her an entire tree house that I planned to fill with her friends. But Fairyland suddenly stopped production and they became scarcer than hen’s teeth. So my little one occupied her huge tree house all on her own for years and years. But then Fairyland finally released one, and I jumped on it! A year and a half later, they re-released a past favorite, and I jumped on that too! Now my lonely little Realpuki is lonely no more.

 

Hello everyone!
I'm really new, both to Den of Angels and to the hobby, my win is that I finally choose my first doll (Resinsoul's Rui) and chose a character for her (a Fae of the Unseelie Court, urban fantasy style). I'm very, very excited about this project, wish me luck...

 

I successfully resisted the allure of Alice's New Years Sale... so far.

I met some local BJD people online and am planning on meeting up with them!
