1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Lovely gestures from the doll companies

Jan 5, 2006

    1. I guess that is just the world we live in! I can understand the original posters delight though. I would be out of my head with giddyness if I ordered something and I got a little token of appreaction back.Too cool!

    2. Dollmore have sent me nice stuff each time I've used them and I've only used them twice just to buy little things, not even a doll. The first time they sent me Korean lollypops which were honeycomb, I've haven't tasted a lollypop as sweet since lol.
The second time they sent me a santa sack with a dollmore pen, girls stockings, two extra sets of acrylic eyes (One pair of which I actually used instead of the ones I ordered lol) and some post cards.

    3. WEEE! They are so cool. I'm actually planning on using one of the eyes I got from them as a freebe. I can't wait until I can place another order with them. *waits very anxiously* XD

    4. I recently ordered from Dollmore and I too got a pair of eyes , the pen, and even a set of playing cards! Oh, and a bag of shrimp fries too.

    5. Last Christmas I ordered from Luts during their event, and if you bought so many clothes etc., you got a free wig, and a little more and you got free shoes.

Well I didn't qualify for any of them, but Luts gave me a very nice pair of free shoes, which just happened to be perfect for my boy. <3

    6. When I ordered from dollmore I got one of those yummy lollies^^ Soom sent a tiny teddy bear when they sent a chest plate to the person I bought it from(so I have it now and the person I bought it from(babytarragon) also sent me a pink flower pin) and when I ordered my boy's wig and some magnets from Soom they sent me 3 tiny clothes pins>.< I bought a wig on ebay from coco_doll_work that said "sorry for the late shipment" I thought that was sweet>.< Even when my friends and I send eachother dolly things we send something extra!
I always try and throw something extra in when I sell something. I think it's nice to get a little something special<3

    7. I'm yet to have any experience with any doll companies, but the stories make me smile. That said, I used to be a marketing student...and this is all such a classic example of luxury marketing strategy its amazing. When it comes to luxury items, arguably the best way of making sure you have repeat customers is to make sure they feel truly appreciated; to include a little something unexpected. It doesn't have to be expensive, just something to trigger good memories with the purchase; VW Bugs used to include daisies for the owner in the car. It works; everyone likes to feel special and appreciated.

I know a lot of this from the doll companies has to come from Eastern over Western culture...but the fact that I ended up having to study this when it seems to be the norm elsewhere tickles me pink.

    8. I haven't had anything extra sent with my doll, but he did come much earlier than expected. I had some trouble with the company, so it turned out I had to wait two months instead of one. But, the company [DOD] ended making me only wait an extra week. I found it so nice that they could get my boy out so soon. It was so unexpected >w<

    9. All these stories I read make me anticipate what I might get...but at the same time, I'm not ordering from any of the big companies so I know I probably won't get anything at all. I've resolved that should I ever sell something for dolls I'll include little yarn dolly falls to clip on wigs or some kind of local candy that keeps well in the mail. I can see how that would work, luxury goods buyers expect a certain kind of service.

    10. I received a lovely pair of eyes when my Belladonna came from Notdoll Lab. ^^

    11. Got my dollmore clothes order last week - shrimpy chips, yaaay!! Plus a pen and a pair of 'blind' eyes. I emailed them and said ta for the quick post and pressies.

    12. I know it may not be anything special, but when I ordered from Fream of Doll during the Christmas Event I didn't receive the T. Lahoo Event Head, when I emailed them about it, they apologize and sent me the head within a week! O__O

And as I'm sure some of you know, DOD can make you wait quite a while sometimes!
I sent them an email of thanks and then they sent me the nicest email back > 3< I love DOD! <3

    13. When I bought Lion from Iplehouse, they sent me the Soo Ri head as a gift. I thought that was fantastic.

    14. Dollmore gave me a free pair of blue acrylic pupil-less eyes when I received my blank white ones- they're even my favorite color!
      Psychic doll companies... 0_o

    15. A lovely gesture... Following a mis-communication to be sure, but still a lovely gesture.

Last year, Darren attempted to design an FCS for me at the Sendai Sumika - only to be told that they were only available to Japanese (yes, yes... I know...). A misunderstanding on the part of the staff, who read "Must be a resident of Japan" as "must be Japanese".

So, back he comes, flea in his ear and looking all dejected and rejected.

When the chaps at Sato heard about it however, all Hell broke loose in Heaven.

There were phone calls, the most heart-breaking apologies and the desired doll was prepared, clad and wigged, be-spectacled and gifted by way of reperation. That was quite a pleasant surprise (so I spent the saved money on a Megu anyway).

      Yuko.

    16. When I ordered two doll heads from Ninodoll(kawaiinino) they sent me bags of snacks. hehe, effective packaging and much tastier than ordinary bags of air. XD Lol I was so surprised.

    17. When I put in an order for a set of eyes I ended up being given two more sets in little 'free gift' boxes which was scarilly sweet of them I though!

    18. I think they are too! If I can get my next order from them, we'll find out for sure. MUWHAHAHAHAHAHA!

    19. When I got the extra eyes.. it was the pair that I'd really been gawking at.. so again with the companny knowing what we want..>.>;; Its a little scary!

    20. Dollmore all the way!! I always receive some kind of nice gift, I really like their kind guesture!! Also, their customer service, OMG wonderful!
