They're only backlogged by about a month, judging by the Waiting Room thread. They'll hopefully be shipping out all Sept orders this month, which would mean Oct orders would ship in Jan.
Thanks - that probably bumps mine to the start of February, given that Christmas falls at the end of my original expected-shipping wait, so I guesstimated at just after New Year. Teddy
Shipping notice for my girl! Much earlier than I expected based on their backlog, but maybe Luts is catching up? Anyway, she should be here within the week.
Yes, it will be nice! Though, I'm hoping the weather will clear up a bit so I can start her body blushing/manicure right away. Hopefully your girl will show up soon, too!
My girl shipped, too, a couple of days ago. However with the German customs being rather slow, especially at this time of the year, I don't know when she will be here. Here's hoping that it will be before christmas.
Thanks - Unlikely to be until after New Year unless they get ahead of schedule. Hopefully they will be trying to get as many parcels out to people as they can before Christmas - fingers crossed! Teddy
Kimchi, I got a Rose, too. I have to admit though that I wanted Daisy at first, because her face seemed more child like and better fitting to the body. However, the more I looked at Rose the better I liked her and so I finally got her instead . Has yours already arrived? I'm so curious to see some owner photos of these darlings ! Thank you very much Teddy ! Well, we'll hope for the best. I'm just afraid that customs might keep her and force me to get there to fetch her... and they have such strange opening hours.
My girl isn't set to arrive until Thursday this week, and no time/light for photos until the weekend.>.< Edit: Picked up my girl form the PO today (it was mega crazy busy ) and, yay, I got the pink carrier! Have to wait until after work to unpack her, though.
I was able to go and take my Rose home from customs today . She is lovely, very well made and as expected in a similar size like Rosenlied's Holiday Child, except for her thighs which seem to be way chubbier. As you can see though she fits this HC dress and shoes just fine. Luts sent some extremely lime colored eyes with her, I guess I will need to change them and then I'll need to find someone to paint her face-up, but this will only be done some time next year ^___^.
There you go To the left Rosenlied's Holiday Child and to the right Luts' Baby Delf. They have basically similar proportions except for the legs that are thicker on the Baby Delf. So HC Dresses should always be a good fit, while I doubt that slim fitting trousers would be.
Thanks! From the measurements I was hoping she would be a bit bigger than Holiday's Child. It's nice that they can share dresses.
Oh excellent! I'm looking forward to seeing how you style her. Thanks for the comparison shot too - I like the chubbier legs and thighs. Teddy
@Sharkyra, how funny, my girl arrived with bright green eyes, too! Though, hers have pupils. I guess Luts was in a green-eyed mood that day? The Baby Delf was smaller than I was expecting, but her adorable chubbiness more than makes up for it! I love how the ball joints are designed - you never see the stringing channel as you're posing the doll. Only complaint so far is the limited mobility in the elbows. As far as clothing goes, my girl fits perfectly (really perfectly) in a Volks outfit designed for their new, standard MSD size (i.e. think Dai/Mako). Her feet fit best in a pair of Dollfie Dream Sister shoes (not sure if that is the same size as standard Dollfie Dream). However, her feet also fit well in a pair of LeekeWorld shoes sized for SD/SD13. I don't dress any of my girls in jeans, so I can't help there. Tights/stockings designed for 1/3 scale will be too long, and I haven't yet tried tights/stockings for 1/4th scale.
Oooh, Volks MSD outfits would open up quite a lot of clothing possibilities... (And Dollheart still designs for standard 'chubby' MSDs, I think, so that could be worth trying. My Cherry Classic dress might get a new doll ) How does she look with SD-size dolls?
@Sarako, hmmm, I guess to me she doesn't look so much like a child as she does a chibi version of her SD counterparts. Her hands are probably close to the same size as some of my 1/3 girls' hands, if that gives you an idea. Her legs are also as thick/thicker than my big girls'. As a stand-alone doll, she's great! But if you're trying to match her with a big sister/brother, it may be more difficult.
I'm not sure if this has come up yet, but as it was mentioned in the beginning of the thread that this size and scale needs a name, Surely (as with other sizes) we'd nab Volks' name for it and call them DearSD or DSD xD
But then you'd upset all the people that insist SD, MSD, Yo-SD, etc., etc. exclusively be used for Volks dolls.
