1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

LUTS, How can I trust you again?

Jul 31, 2007

    1. thank you : )

      But the problem is
What if they think this part is well-made?
The new parts are exactly the same with the old ones.

I'll post on luts' site later I think. But I think I already know what they'll say --
it has nothing wrong, it is all of our products look like

Just like what they told my friends when they posted the chapping pictures.

    2. bread17>> you say that the replacement part they sent you is in the same shape as your shushu's broken ankle? and that that's the norm??? o.o

is it only a girl MNF thing? because when meeve and blackpaperbag directed me to this post, i went to check my MNF shiwoo's leg and his joint is nothing like what your pictures show. ._.;;; that's certainly very strange!!

their resin is definitely getting lighter. several months ago, i decided to quantify what i'd been complaining about (my boys being successively lighter than the previous) and my weighing scale (admittedly a baking one) showed that the dolls were indeed getting lighter. o.o

i've found no defects with my boys so far, though, that i can blame on them (apart from a thin section on my yder's ear--but it hasn't resulted in any problems). my el doesn't seem to have that crackled look--i got him in may last year. none of my successive dolls seem to have it either, so i think it may just be an isolated batch, though it does seem poor form to just brush it aside like they have apparently done. D: (i use 'seem', as i haven't actually closely examine them properly.)

i think you ought to let them know that the replacement part they have sent you does not look like what other MNF owners have showed you (that the calf part should be symmetrically bored through with the articulating joint surface smoothed and rounded). and see what they tell you. D:

    3. I'm asking for mnf-shushu's ankle pictures now.
She has a mnf small bust body.

I think the casting depends on the body type. Hopefully someone will post their babies' ankle pictures.

    4. bread17>> i hope elf shushu owners will help you out. D:

my mnf shiwoo seems to have one short calf and one longer one, though. :\ and it's possible that i might have gotten a mnf girl calf on one leg (the shorter one).

      given that he was ordered during the recent event period, it's highly likely that they were so rushed that a wrong part was used. x.x;;

i'm awaiting a reply on that as well. but if what i have really IS a girl calf part...i can safely assure you that your shushu's ankle joint isn't supposed to look like how it is in your pictures. o.o

    5. Well, you need to find a picture of someone elses Minifee ankle part. Then you can say 'This is what a normal minifee part looks like, other people have showed me there's. To me, this is a good quality part I would be happy to have on my doll'. Then show a pucture of how yours looks for comparison.

You need to explain that you are dissapointed with what you have recieved and express that you KNOW what a good quality part looks like. Say that you believe the break was a result of the bad manufacture of the part you were issued with.

Luts have a nasty habit of lying when they think the customer will believe them. I've seen them tell people that it is normal for half of a body not to match the other half in resin colour.

They once told me that it was normal for the waist part to pop out like mine did.

You need to show them you are smart enough to not believe their BS.

I also find that if you mension the words 'other people have said' they know you are part of a community and feel the threat of a potential koss of business.

    6. I can see what you are talking about with your dolls. 2 months and it is a limited edition doll on top of the fact would give Luts a good reason to make you pay for all of the repairs and other things. The other things going wrong with your and your friends other dolls seem kind of like Luts was in a rush to get the dolls out and fill as many orders as they could.

You are right doll resin should not look like that after only two months but other thing could be at play when it comes down to it. The doll could have got a hair line brake in shipping and moving and playing with that braken part while unknowing about the braken could have done that. But I am not one to say I have not got my firsat dollie yet so I really have no say so on the Luts dolls

    7. My Nightengale... the doll we have over here with extensive "chapping"... *is* an El (a modified Dreaming-), but his body and head were purchased several months apart.

His body is just a standard boy body ordered as an Optional Part. It didn't come as part of an El set.

Also, when it was brought up over here last year and we all started checking our dolls, there were several with that problem. It wasn't limited to any one particular head mold, or even one body type. I believe there were at least one or two girl bods that also had the surface crackling.

Cracked necks seem to be a design flaw with the Type 2 bodies, particularly those made of tanned resin... That issue has been discussed before as well, and I suspect it's why Luts seems to be shipping Type 2s really loosely strung these days. 8P

    8. bread17>> whoops, it would seem that after measuring my boy's legs, the parts seem equal in length. turned out that some clothing was stuck in one joint, making that leg appear longer.

still doesn't explain the shoddy workmanship of your shushu's calf piece, though. D:

on the bright side, i'm sure you can try and get back a portion of what you spent by selling the chipped piece. i recall seeing people looking for faulty doll parts in the various marketplaces. it may not be a lot, but at least a bit of money back might make you feel a bit better. D:

    9. Sorry for my poor English.. But do you mean that there are other dolls besides EL having the same "chapping" problem in your place? Or I misunderstand your meaning? - -

    10. Thank you so much for the suggestion. :)
I think when I get other MNF-Elf-SHUSHU's pictures, I'll try to argue with luts again (maybe...)

    11. i believe BF means that the chapping problem isn't so much related to one sculpt (e.g. EL, boy body vs. girl body) as a problem that occurs in batches [of resin].

    12. Really?
I think I should tell this to my friends here.
      It's a terrible news -_-

    13. Yes. Exactly.

Someone posted pictures here on DoA last year of the crackling on the surface of her doll's resin... the same thing as your chapping... and quite a few of us went to check our own dolls to see how wide-spread the problem was. Luckily not many of us found problems, but those who did had dolls of several different models. It wasn't limited only to Els, or even only to boys.

The only thing that seemed to be a common factor was WHEN the dolls had been purchased. At the time, none of them were more than a couple of months old. Luts having a bad resin batch was about the only explanation for it that made sense, but the person who found the crackling first and started the thread about it had a heck of a time getting Luts to do anything about it.

When she showed them pictures, they thought she was complaining about the mold seams. :(

    14. BF>> now that you mention it, i remember that incident. :0!!

bread17>>i hope this chapping thing is just an isolated incident and that they check their products more carefully. when did you get your el?

i'm betting it's the rush (first from the elf shushu order and now from the nanuri event) that's making their quality control drop (more than usual?).

    15. S was back in Feb. 2006.
It was not the event period, so I don't think the poor quality is due to the rush..

    16. Nightengale's body was ordered in late February 2006, too...

It sounds like your fellow must be from the same bad resin batch as his bod and the others that we found over here on DoA. :(

None of the dolls or bodies I've gotten from Luts since then have had anything like that, and not all of the dolls from February or March of 2006 have it, either... but some of them definitely do, and it's annoying that we could never get Luts to understand what that problem was.

    17. Hm well..this is the reason why i don't get my dolls from luts around rainseason...
i actually only order from them between december to february.

And then still my shushu has like tuns of chips on her wrist and ankle/leg pieces too.

I have heard something about the health of the air you live in has influence on you're resin.
You live in a big city (hk) so i suppose it could have something to do with that.
I hope you get your girl fixed.
I would love to offer you to fix her for free (only shipping) if you can't get a deal with luts.
      ...but at the moment i can't get any kneed able resin..so i can't promise you a 100% o_o

      Edit:

btw i have been working on 2 mnf shiwoo vamp faces..
and i must say luts disappointed me,
there was allot of mess between the lips of both..
and the right eye lid was shorter then the left o_o
      <--I'm a perfectionist..so it noticed
and the closed eyelid parts was really thin.. luckily this was removed
when i opened they're eyes... but the owners both had a bot of a omg there.

    18. doesn't the november-january period have a monsoon as well???

    19. Well..i was told that was the best time to buy from luts.. but i guess most of they're dolls they sell around that time are casted like a month be for.
      Precast thing~

The big delay luts is having now is i guess not only the faceups.. but i think they are running low on precasts,
because they're waiting time is becoming sort of a dod wait D:
(lol..precasts..i funno what els to call them)

    20. naiara>> oh, a pre-cast system sounds logical. i always assumed that they cast the dolls only when they got an order. ^^;; it might explain why some people didn't seem to experience much of a delay for the nanuri event while there are still others waiting on theirs.

i'm not sure how it is further up north (like in korea), but here in the more southern part of asia, the main rainy monsoon is at the end of the year and the dry, sunny period is in the middle of the year. it could just be due to geographical location, though. i never took more than basic geography. :\

plus the weather system seems to be changing. -___-;;; it's been awfully rainy recently.
