1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

LUTS, How can I trust you again?

Jul 31, 2007

    1. *grumble* then I suppose it depends on how damaged he was

    2. most of the time, as these companies get bigger/more succesful, their customer service dips a little. but so far, i've always gotten lovely service from them, so i'm not really in a position to comment. D:

      but i really hope they work on their quality control and customer service issues. i haven't had such issues with them before, but i don't want to either. -___-;;

      good luck to all of you waiting on your LUTS dolls. :3

    3. I ordered my first doll from Luts in June. A BW El. And type 2 also. ... With a custom faceup. So after reading this thread I'm in for a world of worry I suppose. He should be shipping relatively soon and I'll be sure to check him as best as I can. Though I'm not sure I'll have the strength and patience to check each and every stringing channel.

      I'm sorry to hear you didn't catch the crack in time bread17. And even more sad to hear they sent you a replacement part that was just as badly made as the first. I am in love with many Luts sculpts and will most likely do more business with them in the future because of it but I want to thank you for making this thread. I know there are lots of Luts supporters out there and I can see myself being one of them, but nothing should excuse bad quality. I have never had a bad experience with Luts but that in no way makes it okay for them to treat you badly. So I hope they will listen to you and do something to help fix your girl.

    4. I was pretty shocked when I found this thread. I really hope that everyone who's waiting for their Luts dolls get them in fine condition, and in one piece. :( My friend ordered a Luts doll yesterday (a Delf Lishe to be exact - with type 2 body if that matters with female dolls) and I was about to order a Luts doll, too. I'd just like to ask, did anyone have these or other kind of quality problems with Lishe dolls? And as for me, I guess I should wait until february to order a doll from them. *sigh* I guess I can wait :)

    5. I wish just to give my experience with Luts (as other has done) cause I have 6 Luts at home, bought in different years (1 bought directly from Luts 1 year ago, 2 bought this year from Luts, 3 bought on DoA and about 3 years old) and I have had (and now sold) other 6 Luts females and 3 boys in 2 years and all the dolls were perfect, no chips, no scratches and no resin problems, even the ones that are 3 years old.
      I am not saying that all Luts are perfect but only that it is not so easy to find a doll with fault (for the ones who ordered from Luts and are worried about it...).

    6. Oh.. It is a type 2 body, but my order still shows "payment pending" (they are waiting for my wire transfer). Should I run and ask them to change the body to a type 1 you think? I want my doll strung with the right tension, but I don't want the neck to crack! *afraid*

    7. well, i have two type 2 bodies, and they seem fine so far. i believe it was when the tan dolls first came out and they were testing the type 2 system on SDs. i haven't heard of any recent cases of cracked necks, so i think that problem is past now. ^^;; didn't mean to cause any panic.

    8. Were your bodies strung with the right tension when you got them?

    9. i've never restrung my dolls when i get them from LUTS. only once they become loose, so i wouldn't be able to comment on the 'right tension' bit. to me, correct tension is anything that allows me to pose my dolls, and all of them have been able to pose right out of the box. :3

    10. yes, 2 months are not the life of dolls.
      The most reason for this ankel is just too thin.
      I don't know why, but really, the Chiwoo my friend received is very light, compare to EL she bought last year.

    11. zuowei66>> yeah, compared to the el i got last year, the dolls i've gotten after it have been getting lighter and lighter.

    12. Excuse me, but the light... are you talking about the skin color or the body weight? ^^b
      If the body weight, I think I have the same problem.

    13. i'm not sure about zuowei66, but i was referring to weight. i have actual weight measurements...somewhere in my LJ. i can't find them, but i know i have them.

      perhaps in a document in my computer. i'll go search.

      it was done in a fit of boredom with a baking scale on hand. -__-;;;

    14. Althouh it doesn't bother me enough to complain about it, I have recently bought 3 MNF boys (one was a body sent new from someone else in a split) and two have chips in the backs of both of their ancles. These were there when I received them, and obviously happened before they were even packaged, as there is no sign of the chips inside the box! However, the resin of their ankles is all of decent thickness, not like the OP's Shushu! (But I would say Luts can't be held responsible since it WAS two months.)

      It is a shame that Luts doesn't seem able to cope with its popularity, and I actually DO hope their popularity suffers because of it! They should know that they can't cut corners or compromise quality, even if they are getting a lot of orders and feeling pressured to get them out on time.

    15. I'm worried now, I just ordered my first BJD, he's a Kid-Delf, Bory. As soon as I get him i'll check him over thoroughly with help from my friend who already owns three BJDs. I hope he arrives safe and sound. Sorry to hear about your girl ;_;

    16. actually, the 'chips' there (back of the ankle) are deliberate, to help give a little more range to the ankle joint. or something like that. it's not a defect.

    17. Then shouldn't they make them uniform as part of the sculpt? I've sanded one doll's chips to make them more even and improve movement, but comparing the unsanded chipped ankles and the unchipped ones, there isn't any improvement as the chipped bits aren't wide enough to actually fit the back of the heel in them at all. I really do not think they are deliberate, as they would surely be more neatly done if they were.

    18. statuess>> i've always thought it was more to give a seamless fit to when the foot is bent down. D: you're doesn't really fit?? have you got pictures?? i'm interested to see if you and i are talking about the same thing. ^^;;

    19. I've got a kid delf due to ship this week henceforth.
      I tell ya, if she doesn't turn up in good condition, with nice looking joints and stuff...
      Luts WILL back down to responsibility.
      I did it to AngelRegion back when they weren't sending out dolls, and i'll do it to Luts if I must. People are paid for a service, and if they supply a defective service, they have violated the terms.

    20. D:! I really do hope they get their act together soon. I'm afraid to order from them if all I get is lousy service.

      ;o;! I'm sorry about what happen to your doll.
