1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Magic Mirror Studio Saoirse and Siobhan 30cm discussion part 1

Oct 10, 2013

1. She's gorgeous - can't wait to see what you do with her.

2. Tide N Thyme, Thanks! I'm excited to see how she morphs! She desperately needs a wig and eyes. The clothing will have to follow.

3. I hope I can see the Glendalough fairies showing around more often! I already have a couple of them in stock, so stay tuned to my social media! Not that Kamia does not make the most amazing work keeping you informed, guys <3 (Thanks a MILLION!!)

4. Nanyalin, it's so exciting that stock is already being built up ^^ (And I was too excited not to share :P :P)

I do feel like every time I see a Siobhan I need to have her cute body, cute face, and cute little hands in my life. I would love to see some spam of any fairy, but extra kudos for Siobhans xD <3

5. Hello!
I have a favor I wanted to ask if someone on here doesn't mind.
I am not lucky enough to have one of these cuties, but I really want to try my hand at making an outfit in their size because they are such an intetesting scale and I adore faeries!
I saw there are some measurements on here, but I would need a few more to draft a pattern. If anyone wouldn't mind taking some extra measurements of their girl, please let me know as I would really appreciate it!

7. In stock announcement guys! I hope this means I'll more of them around!! I have one I am already paying off---a Saoirse--so I will be foregoing this event, but this is an oppurtunity for me to enable others into owning one of these beauties, haha.

I am so excited to finally have my girl home soon. She should be here January, I estimate. Her name will be Sasha. I did not intentionally make the names so close sounding. It is an OC I have had since I was 12 and this doll just happens to embody her so well. I have however, been considering changing the name to Saoirse (yes, same as the sculpt) as she is supposed to be a kelpie and Sasha doesn;t ring true as much of a Celtic name to me at all, haha. I was but a child when I created her, and had no clue about regional names. But, would it seem unimaginative to keep the same name as the sculpt even though I'm not doing intentionally but only changing it to a name that is Gaelic and sounding much like my OC's original name? Opinions please! (BTW, phonetically, there are three ways to pronounce Saoirse. SEER-sha, SAIR-sha, and SOR-sha. I would say SEER-sha, as I babysat a little girl growing up, who was from Ireland, who pronounced her name this way)

8. It shouldn't matter if it's unimaginative or not, if you feel the sculpt's name works as your character's name that's really all that matters.

I'm eyeing Sinead and I totally can't wait for it to be the 12th. I'm thinking of naming her dun dun dun... Siobhan! Yea, that's really gonna confuse people, haha. I just think that Siobhan is a beautiful sounding name and it fits in my mind. :)

9. Haha, Siobhan is a GREAT name. In fact, this trio of Gaelic 'S' names are some of my very favourites.

I'm so happy to have found a BJD artist as fascinated by Faery lore/legend as I am! I have a character in mind I'm hoping that one day a future sculpt would be able to fill, if not one of her pre-existing sculpts (The Seelie Queen).
I already have big plans for my incoming Saoirse! She will be the older 'sister' (more in spirit/essence) to my Kelpie prince, Murdoch. She once came from the oceans herself, long ago, as she is an ancient fae, but that is her little secret. Embodying a sense of youth, she now lives in the Willow Wood as advisor to the Seelie Queen. I want to buy her a Bunny Heart/Pandora outfit and I have some shell jewelry for her to remind her of her long-ago home and she'll have short, slightly curly black hair. OH, I am dreaming of her already!

10. For the longest time I have been playing with the idea of the getting a big sister for my Maskatdoll tiny. But because my little girl has really odd proportions (she is a little bobble headed) I couldn't find any doll within the 30cm range that is to scale with her.

I found that Magic Mirror was the best fit by far and they have elf ears to match! But as gorgeous as Saoirse and Siobhan was they didn't fit the image I had in mind for my girl's sister. So for quite some time I thought I was safe. (I have enough dollies as is. XD) When Sinead was released I was quite attracted to her but still decided against getting one. My biggest worry was those really curvaceous bodies and how hard it was to clothe them, but I'm thinking of practising sewing so it's probably not a big deal now.

It wasn't until I saw a Sinead made up by Rakeru that I couldn't resist her call any longer. I also bought a Barbie doll house a while back that seems kinda empty with just my one tiny girl, so it needs at least one more occupant. Haha.

11. Sinead IS a gem! Did you buy an in-stock doll @Humbug? Or did you get her at a con? I love seeing Nanyalin and her dolls at cons. It's a real treat to be able to talk with the creator of these lovely dolls and I was able to see them in person for the first time at Dollism Plus NY. I was so fascinated! I haven't seen Sinead in person yet, though, but I hope to someday.

12. She's an in stock doll, because Nanyalin just confirmed my payment yay! But this Sinead is not on her list. When she posted about what dolls she had in stock, I was disappointed to see that only tropical skin was available. I emailed her asking when Fair Skin will be in stock and she responded that she had one last Sinead in that skintone she almost forgot about. And now that Sinead is mine! I can't wait for her to come home. :D

I would love to see Nanyalin's dolls at a con, but it's not possible due to me being in a different country. Ah well.

13. Oh, that is wonderful! I am so glad you are able to bring your girl home in the skin you wanted :3nodding:

I am lucky to live in Canada, right acorss the border from NY so I saw her at Dollism NY and again at Doll North in Toronto. I got to take a peek at her Lilac skin beauties:o

14. It's great you got to see the Lilacs, I'd never get fantasy colours even though I think they are super pretty. But I would love to at least see how they look in person. :)

15. I can't wait for my siobahn! Mine is going to a be a punkish girl with shaved sides and a long Mohawk pony tail!

What size clothing do they fit?

16. I'm so excited for everyone's new girls!
As far as I know, there are a couple people who make clothing for them (Bunny Heart is one, I can't remember the other) but I don't think there are regular sizes that fit those lovely curves. I don't actually own one though, I am currently just a lurker and admirer :P
So someone who has had the opportunity to try different things on them might know better!

17. From what I read, they fit YOSD tops but not bottoms (Unless they are skirts, because of their really wide hips). For the most part I don't find many YOSD styles that work, because they tend to look like they are meant for little girls.
