1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Maintaining the Love when a company changes its style (Soom MD plus others)

Aug 10, 2010

    1. While I haven't bought from Soom in a long time, I think it's amazing they can release new molds and fantasy parts every month, even if quality and a "sameness" of the face is questionable. Even if some are jaded with their current direction, there are many who still love and wait for those new releases, and many more who never experienced Soom's insane rise to fame with their first MDs, and find them still fresh.

Soom simply hasn't made a face that I must have, but that doesn't stop me from admiring owner's interpretations, and being impressed. I am surprised to find many of the sculpts I like/own from the first year of MDs, the artist is still there, making new sculpts still! It's interesting since I would have never believed that to be true.

Naturally companies are going to evolve, or your tastes change, or what have you. I use to be a huge fan of Luts/CP dolls, but now there are too much similarities in sculpts, and my own interests in more realistic dolls, prevents me from purchasing.

It can be tough when your favorite companies go a different route than what you prefer because it's like your best friend left you without saying goodbye, and suddenly they're releasing something that pales in comparison, but a company is a company and they have to survive the competition somehow. Definitely enjoy the dolls who represent what you liked best if you own them. They're still there!
