1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Marina Bychkova's Resin Enchanted Dolls Discussion Part 1

Dec 19, 2012

    1. It must have been sold outside of ebay, because it is still in my "watch" list with no bids. Probably someone contacted the seller with a reasonably high offer.

    2. I know it had some bids before it was closed. I think the seller cancelled the bids 'cause they mention on the ED forum that the doll was sold for the asking price of 3.200 EUR.

Anyways, here is a photo of Gwen in a sea of mohair colours.

Thanks to the very generous Syaron on the Popovy Doll forum, I've received a bundle of lovely coloured mohair for wig making. I'm looking forward to playing/experimenting with it in the upcoming months

    3. I too saw that the bid was closed due to recieving the asking price. I am so glad you like the mohair! Your lovely Gwen is so pretty in her mohair nest!I think all of the colors complement her pretty face!

(Syaron on Popovy Sisters, Lostkitten here. Hello my Belgium friend!)

    4. I don't blame the seller for taking her off ebay when someone wanted to pay the asking price. Ebay's cut would not be insubstantial...

Gorgeous picture of Syaron! I wish I was a talented wig maker:sweat

    5. Have you seen the new stiletto heels on Marina's blog, or did I miss posts regarding those? I wondered how well everyone liked the entire foot showing.

    6. personally I'm not keen

    7. Me neither. I don't like the toes showing. Who could actually hold their feet in that position when wearing the shoes? It would be very difficult. The shoes themselves are pretty, though.

I bet if Marina offered to sell bent-toe feet, people would love that option. Assuming anyone other than Marina could change them out.

    8. Well I love the shoes but not so much on those feet. I would LOVE to have a pair just to hold. ED feet are pretty but the exposed toes just makes the shoes look like a little girl trying on her mother's shoes. Not flattering to the doll or the shoes. I read the justification for the look but it does not make me like them better.

And maybe I am a coward or something but I would NEVER have the courage to actually post that to the blog. :shudder

    9. I agree entirely with your assessment of the shoes - I think they look plain silly.

As to the blog - there aren't many derogatory comments posted on marina's blog, alot of toadies if you ask me

    10. I agree the shoes are pretty on their own but I don't care for them on the feet. And I really love her other shoes, they didn't need improvement :)

    11. toadies eh? why don't you be negative on her blog then? one can be truthful without leaving negative comments. I don't comment when I have nothing helpful to say, that is why nothing negative gets posted. it's just courtesy.

    12. Yeah, I read quite a few honest opinions on the blog - clearly not everyone likes the shoes.

    13. I don't like the toes showing either- I think it makes the doll look like the shoes don't fit. The shoes are gorgeous on their own though, I'm sure she won't have any trouble selling the few that she decides to make.

    14. we are talking about rigid silver shoes on a rigid porcelain foot here - mechanically quite a challenge. However, i still don't like them and have said as much on the blog

    15. Sorry ceejay for attacking you, I just got annoyed by your comment because people on this thread have called ED-owners elitists and when you said toadies, it just made me so tired to read that, when all I'm trying to do is being truthful on Marina's blog. The Enchanted forum is being avoided by many owners who used to be regulars because of this negativity and I miss the times when it was just a place for admirers and owners of ED's to gather and share each other's experience. It gets tiring sometimes to try and make it a positive place when there is so much negativity.

I wish there was another batch of resin ED's to give that joy of owning an ED to more people.

    16. I know exactly what you mean - there have been times when the forum has been all doom and gloom. It is such a shame that there is very little chance of anybody getting an ED or RED now except via the secondary market - even the EBAY auctions are now out of most people's reach as regards cost.:...(
Not everything that Marina does is good and I think i was feeling that alot of people just gush over her stuff without thought- but on reading the blog comments properly - there are opinions for both sides.

i think the actual construction of the shoes is excellent - but I hold to my opinion that they look silly :lol:

    17. It looks to me like MOST of the people commenting do not like the exposed toe look. Some do, and I think their comments are fairly thoughtful- I don't see a lot of insincere rear-end kissing honestly.

    18. The new stilletto shoes, while unusual, are meant to showcase the feet, which are lovely. With all of the way-out head-dresses, costumes, and wigs, are these shoes really sooo strange? If I were truly concerned about the shoes looking "natural", I wouldn't consider metal shoes in the first place. :o)

I thought the comments on Marina's blog were fairly tame by today's standards. I don't consider myself a rear-end kisser or an elitist but do believe that negativism is a real downer.

    19. I actually like them the more I look at them, I'd rather have shoes that fit probably, but wouldn't metal shoes scratch the toe paint? And they kind of look very "naked" or vulnerable with the toe cleavage exposed- which actually fits the way her dolls come across- not like it matters what I think since I don't even have a doll to put them on, but if I did, and they weren't $400, AND they were possible to get, I'd get them ;)

    20. They would probably look gorgeous if the doll was wearing thin but opaque stockings. Personally I don't think the ED feet need showcasing, they are already so beautiful.

As far as comments on the blog go, there is no reason to think they are anything but polite and sincere. There is nothing to gain by kissing up in this instance, unlike with a teacher or something. So why would anyone pretend to like something they don't actually like? It would make no sense. They are just eager fans. Perhaps they are a little starry-eyed, but who can blame them when they are looking at the star of the doll-making world? :)
