1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Marina Bychkova's Resin Enchanted Dolls Discussion Part 1

Dec 19, 2012

    1. Does anyone have any new news on the waiting list? I just checked her site and it says she is still not taking any more orders right now. I did sign up for the news letter ...

    2. John, unfortunately I don't have good new for you. The list is very long, there don't seem to be any new resins coming out lately, so unless you were on the very long list at the very beginning, the chances of getting a new resin doll are very slim. Marina may start making them some day again, but no one knows for sure but her. She made very few of them in the first place. My feeling is if you really want a resin you will need to buy one being resold and be prepared to pay at least $5,000 or more. Marina is busy making porcelain dolls and accessories so she is occupied with that. When it is only one person doing all this, not many dolls come out.

    3. Hi Lost Kitten,

Just discovered the Popovy Sisters in the last few days. I do not understand why they are off topic. I did read the part about painted eyes. Is that what makes them off topic ? If yes then why aren't Volks's DD's off topic ? DD's can have the choice of the hand painted eyes, decals or urethane eyes.

      Thanks for your help !
      Connie

    4. The Popovy's with interchangeable eyes are not off topic- http://www.denofangels.com/forums/s...le-Owl-and-Peewit-Discussion&highlight=popovy

    5. Oh wow kapiszonka , Yupi is especially gorgeous, I love her hair! And those earrings :aheartbea

    6. The painted eye Popovy dolls were off topic as Galacticat says but with the advent of the OE (open eye) line this year, happily the PS dolls are on topic.

I have been on the list myself for a very very very long time. So actually I have sort of given up and tune in to the forum and the DoA ED discussion to see the new things posted by members. I would like to think one day it will happen but in the mean time I content my self with photos and dreams.

    7. kapiszonka - What dolls are those you just posted pictures of? Those are beautiful.

Can you buy Marina Bychkova's porcelain dolls anywhere?

    8. Marina sells her porcelain dolls on Ebay (once a year, this year's auction is coming up soon) or at art shows (also not very often). They're very, very hard to obtain and when she does sell them, you can expect to pay at least 15.000 - 20.000 USD for them. I would recommend keeping an eye of Marina's blog to find out when she sells her dolls.

kapiszonka - Congrads on your new girl! I'm so happy to see her again. Love how elcatka painted her.

    9. Eiko82 Thanks. It's great that elcatka was so kind and sell her to me. She's made a fantastic work !!! I'm so grateful to her

But those high prices are for porcelain dolls. Resins are cheaper, between $4k-$6k, but really hard to get.

PS. DOA admin has deleted my pics ;P so I've put them again ;P

    10. I love your new girl. First of all I did not know what they were talking about because I did not see any new doll but I see they deleted your picture. I guess we must follow the rules or we get our hands smacked. I like the eyes painted like that. I wish Marina did her porcelain with the painted eyes like her very first resin dolls. They looked so much like the porcelain so I think that is why she did not do it any more. Maybe people would mistake them.

    11. She is about to sell a new Cinderella porcelain. Or rather, she had originally said she would put one on ebay before Christmas/in December, but it looks like she still has quite a ways to go, and she is VERY slow, so it could be a few more months. Still, the doll will be stunning when she is finished, and I suspect a price range of around $50K.

    12. Just checking to see what's new on this thread, and to wish all of you a wonderful Holiday Season--however you choose to celebrate it. I'm looking forward to seeing Marina's auction, whenever that occurs. Don't plan on bidding--unless someone wants to buy a kidney or some other body part I could spare, but it will be fun to see how the bidding goes.

    13. Well, I'm not bidding too, no money :) but I bet people would kill each other to get this Cinderella. It's both funny and sad. I'm wondering whether the final price would reach $100k this time.

    14. The doll is going to be heartbreakingly beautiful, already her face and details are even more stunning than her first Cinderella. I suspect the doll will probably sell in the $60K-$70K range, but it wouldn't shock me if she went for more...

I can't wait to see her final photos- looking at her creations really inspires me to try my hand at jewelry making and doll making- she is so ridiculously talented. In a way I am grateful the price for the Porcelain art dolls is so high, it puts them so far out of reach that you can't even feel bad about missing out on one.

    15. That is exactly how I feel Galacticat. The are is no way I could or would pay that much money for a doll even though they are beautiful and worth the money if you feel you love it that much. I think of resale and in that price range, there are few people that would pay that kind of money, but they are out there so who knows. These dolls are in the art category now, not just play things. Anyways, I won't be bidding. I would sure love a nude porcelain though. I missed the boat by a few years.

    16. I'm dreaming of having a resin ED. Perhaps, some day!

    17. One of my girls is ready to party all night long, well into the new year.
